KILFLYNN COMMUNITY TOGETHE
will provide a delivery service to any of the elderly or vulnerable people in our community during this difficult time, while our country battles the threat of Covid 19.
We have an army of volunteers to support our community at this time, and who have always supported us over the years.
Please feel free to contact the KCT Community phone on 087-1122828.  We will organise pick up and delivery for you.  Please let any of your neighbours that might need assistance know this help is here. We will let you know who will be delivering it to your door.

CROTTA HURLING CLUB LOTTO UPDATE
In light of the Covid 19 crisis Crotta O’Neills Hurling Club have taken the decision to suspend its Lotto draws until further notice. This decision is in the best interest of all club members, supporters volunteers and the wider community. Note all tickets purchase for Monday’s draw will remain valid when the next draw takes place. Thank you for your understanding. Take care of yourselves and those around us and together we will overcome this situation.

WALK OR RUN FOR FUN 
IF anyone is interested they is a run /walk on Sunday morning from Kilflynn village starting at ten o clock . Run will be two green road loops 7.3 miles total . Walk will be one loop green road  . Can you wear high vis vests if possible. It’s not a race . The person that comes last in a marathon is more relevant than the first home . Hope to see good numbers on Sunday morning. 2019 Sports Section Volunteer of the Year - Roy Guerin, Para Powerlifting 
Para Powerlifting is a sport that links right back to the early days of IWA. In recent years the sport has re emerged thanks to the efforts of Roy Guerin, a former wheelchair track competitor.   
Roy Guerin, Leam, Kilflynn competed at the 2012 Paralympic Games in Para Powerlifting and since then has played a leading role in coaching and developing the sport in Ireland, and is currently  Strength & Conditioning coach for the Kerry Senior Camogie panel. 

JOHN BARRY R.I.P
Crotta O’Neills Hurling club wish to offer its deepest condolences to the family and friends of John Barry Tullig Kilflynn. John played hurling with Crotta in the early 60s and 70’s and also represented St Senans GAA on the football fields of Kerry. He was always a fantastic supporter of both clubs and had a keen interest in both clubs throughout his life. A fearless and determined player John represented the green and red in two County Minor Hurling Finals in 1963 & 64 and continued to be a formidable senior player in the 70s. John will be remembered by all that knew him as a kind, generous and truly one of life’s true gentlemen. The Crotta Hurling Club formed a Guard of Honour after the  Requiem Mass on Wednesday 11th March in St.Micheal Church, Lixnaw. . Interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kilflynn.

TG4's 'Réalta agus Gaolta Final’
Well done to the Breen Family, Knocknacaska, Kilflynn who participated   in the final on Sunday night 15th March of  Sunday night's hit entertainment series Réalta agus Gaolta Programme on  TG4’s  . What a Fantastic performance by highly talented Kilflynn family.  Congrats to Sarah, Daragh, Conor and Thomas Breen . ye did the Kilflynn area and Kerry proud, and of course proud parents Maura and Tom Breen. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing  ye back for the next monthly music session in Parkers Pub after Covid-19 pass
 
 
KILFLYNN ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
As organisers of the St Patrick’s day parade, Kilflynn Community Together have no option but to cancel the parade in Kilflynn due to concerns in relation to the coronavirus.  
The decision was taken following a special COVID-19 government cabinet meeting earlier today which confirmed that all planned parades to celebrate St Patrick's Day are to be officially called off.  
Kilflynn Community Together regret that our parade is being cancelled but public health is paramount. 
The Kilflynn Community Together committee would like to thank all those who have been involved in preparations for our parade.

THE VARIETY SHOW IS POSTPONED 
It is with some regret that Kilflynn Drama Group in association with Kilflynn Community Together have come to the decision to postpone their Variety Show on Friday 13th, Saturday 14th and 15th March in St.Columbas Centre, Kilflynn due to the threat of coronavirus. This decision was made in the interest of Public Health and the Health of all in our community. 
It is all our hope to bring back this great show in the fall of the year all things being well by then .
We sincerely thank everyone for your support and wish you all well at this time .

KILFLYNN CITY SOCCER CLUB 

Due to public health measures put in place to fight the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Kilflynn City Night at the Dogs which was to be held last Friday night (March 13th) was been CANCELLED.
Anyone who has purchased tickets and wishes for a refund, please contact the person off whom you purchased your tickets and they will return your money.

DARTS 
12 Dart players participate in the doubles darts competition in Parker's Lounge Bar, Kilflynn , on Saturday 14th  March The weekly darts tournament wasn't finished on Saturday night last and the players left in the competition agreed to donate the prizes. Thanks Sean 'Beans' Weir, Shane Nolan, Darragh O Donoghue, James Sheehan Sean O Donoghue.
Mike Parker on behalf the Parker's Pub weekly darts tournament players presented John Leahy, Tralee Soup Kitchen two  joints of meat on Sunday night. Thanks to the dart players who participated last Saturday night and thanks to Leann Costello  and Vanessa Houlihan for supervising the tournament. Keep practising the darts at home, and the weekly darts tournament will recommence again after Covid-19 crisis pass.

The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday 14th March at 10.30p.m in Parker's Lounge Bar. The winners of the weekly darts will receive a leg of lamb each. All names in for 10.20p.m. Sharp. Thanks to the dart players who showed up on time last Saturday night and thanks to Betty Falvey and Marcella Mulvihill for supervising the tournament.

The Kilflynn Toddler Group meets up every Thursday during school term from 10.00 to 11.30am in Saint Columbas Centre, Kilflynn. All new babies, toddlers, parents, grandparents and childminders welcome.

The Crotta Senior Hurlers were defeated by Kilmoyley in County Senior Hurling League Division 1 round one On Saturday, 7th March in the sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn by 2-11 to 1-10 We wish the Crotta players and their Kerry Senior Hurling team mates all the best in the Allianz National league Div 2 Final in Croke Park on Sunday 15th March at 1.00pm.

Fifty five children from Abbeydorney NS and Kilflynn NS received the Sacrament of Confirmation in St Bernard's Church, Abbeydorney from the Bishop of Kerry, Rev Bishop Ray Browne, Who was assisted by Fr. Denis Mahony Abbeydorney P.P, Fr. Nicholas Flynn. Diocesan Secretary, Fr. Brendan Walsh and Deacon Francis White, Kilflynn on Thursday 27st February. After the beautiful ceremony the Bishop posed for photographs with the children and their families.The boys and girls who received the Sacrament from St Teresa's National School, Kilflynn, were: Conor Brennan, Sadie Byrne, Evan O’Sullivan, Tieanna Sheehy, Thomas Breen, Ciara O’Brien, Rachel O’Donoghue, Colin O’Sullivan, Emma Buckley, Diarmuid O’Driscoll, Emma O’Shea, Ryan Hurley, Clodagh McNamara, Priya O’Donovan, Cillian Hurley, Jack Greaney, Katie Casey, Ellen McKenna, Matthew Ryan, Laura Falvey, Ella Mahony, Muireann Hussey, Oísín Heaton, Joanne O’Sullivan, Megan Bradley, Róisín Abeyta, Bryan Quilter, Zoe McCarthy and Aidan Mooney.Congratulations to the children from St Teresa's National School, who received the Sacrament of Confirmation, also the parents and their teacher, Sinead Hogan who had the children well prepared for their big day. Thanks also to Ann Mahony and The Abbeydorney School choir for the beautiful music and singing.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
KILFLYNN is all set for their annual St Patricks Day parade. The Parade and the Fancy Dress Parade will commence at 4.00 p.m. sharp on Tuesday 17th March from St Teresa's National School and make its way to the village. All those interested in Participating in the parade please assemble at the School at 3.30 p.m. Any organisations, business or individual wishing to take part in this year’s parade are very welcome to do so.  Kilflynn Community Together are organising this year's St Patrick’s Day Parade and are hoping to build on last year's success where over 25 groups took part. Interested groups can contact Niamh on 0863144157 to book their place  Again, this Year there will be a Trophy and 100 Euro for the Best float, 50 euro for 2nd place and 25 euro for 3rd place. There will be free children's face painting also on the day, and all Fancy Dress participants will be presented with a medal after the parade in St. Columbas Centre,. The name of the Grand Marshall, the person who will lead the 2020 Kilflynn parade, will be announced nearer the day It will be a wonderful gathering of the Kilflynn and surrounding communities awash with colour and imagination! A Brilliant day was had in Kilflynn on Sunday 23rd February. The draw for The Kilflynn Community Together "Split the Bucket"   took  place on Saturday 29th February    in  Herbert’s Bar,   Kilflynn.
The winner of the  SPLIT THE BUCKET was Aiden Shanahan, Tullig, Kilflynn.  Bucket total €320 - split to winner €160.Congratulations to  Aiden who won  € 160! The winning ticket was drawn Michelle Quirke, The Watherfall,  Kilflynn and was bought in Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn.
As always, thank you for your continued support. The next draw takes place in Zam Zam Kebab, Kilflynn on Saturday 28th March  at 9.30p.m   
Get your entries in (as many as you like) before Saturday 28th March ! It could be your lucky Night! We have buckets at various businesses around Kilflynn, Parkers Pub, Herbert's Bar and Zam Zam Kebab.
The concept of the draw is simple, simply place your €2 into the envelope at the venue, write your name and phone on the envelope and you could possibly ‘split the bucket!’
Funds raised will be used for projects that will benefit and improve Kilflynn. Your support is greatly appreciated.
 
COUNTY SENIOR HURLING LEAGUE DIV 1
As the Allianz Hurling League Division 2A Final has been postponed by one week until March 14/15, the Co. Senior Hurling League Division 1 is due to commence this weekend with 4 games scheduled. 9 teams will compete this year with Kilgarvan back in Division 1 for the first time in a number of years. On Saturday, 7th  March @ 4.00p.m.. Crotta Seniors play Kilmoyley in the sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn. We wish the Crotta players and their mentors all the best for the 2020 season.

Causeway Community Action Group
Tickets to our OsKaRs night which takes place this Friday  6th March, are on sale in Hanlys supermarket, Causeway or from any cast member. Its promises to be a Friday night to remember! Thank you to everyone who has supported us in this fundraiser, it is very much appreciated
