THANKS
Quiz buffs were out in force on Holy Thursday night 13th April for the Parents Association of Kilflynn School, Annual Table Quiz at Herbert's Bar & Parker's Bar Kilflynn. Nineteen teams participated with the winning prize going to: Nora Brady, Katie O'Connell, Mary Moloney, Martin Ryan and Brenda Brennan. Congratulations yet again.
A huge thank you to both houses Herbert's and Parkers for facilitating us host the event. To each and every person who supported the night, those who took part in the quiz and supported the night by purchasing raffle tickets it was all very much appreciated. It was great to see all the past and present pupils taking part, well done, and hope to see you all again next year.
To our Quiz Master John Rohan who really put people thinking on the night a huge thank you for a task well done, also to the assistant MC Tom Breen, well done. Thank you to those who helped to prepare for the event, make up hampers and again helped out on the night. To our Quiz correctors, Mrs Carroll and Jean McNamara, ticket sellers and anyone who helped in any way, due to all of you, the night was such a great success.
To Mike Parker and Kilflynn Community Together as well as others who promoted the event, on Facebook etc, thank you.

The winners of the weekly doubles darts tournament in Parker's lounge bar on Saturday 15th April were Jason Nolan and Paud Fuller who defeated J.P Twomey and Brendan Hannon in the final. 16 dart players participated. KERRY MINOR FOOTBALLERS
Kerry eased their way to a possible Munster Minor Football Championship semi final showdown possibly with Cork on May 10th following a decisive victory over Clare before an attendance of 2,567 at Tralee’s Austin Stack Park on Wednesday evening 12th April on a score of Kerry 2-16 Clare 1-6
At the break it was 2-10 to 1-0 for the home side. Before the game a minutes silence was observed in memory of the late Vincent Linnane who was the Austin Satck Park groundsman and the Kerry footballer’s Kitman for many years. Congratulations to Crotta minor hurler Barry Mahony who had an outstanding game at centre field for the Kerry minor football team. Barry play his football with St Senans Gaa. We wish Barry every success in the county jersey!

The Local Crotta Cycling Group have recommence their cycling recently and continue every Tuesday and Thursday thereafter. Starting from
Barry's in Crotta at 6:30 p.m. All are welcomed even if you are a novice

ACTIVE RETIRED GROUP

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS
The Kerry Senior Hurlers will open their Leinster Senior Championship round robin series campaign on this Sunday, 23rd April, with an away trip to play Meath in Páirc Tailteann in Navan where there will be a 3.00p.m. throw in. Best of luck to Crotta players Sean Weir, Jordan Conway, Shane Nolan and Tomas O’Connor and their Kerry team mates .

PILATES CLASSES

We will arrive at Croke park for 12:15. Players(only) will visit museum at 12.45pm.
Match time 2pm-3pm against Caherline, Clonakenny and Sacred Heart.

CROTTA SCOR
Crotta Scór. Last Saturday night 8th April in the Cappamore Community Centre,Co.Limerick Sonny Egan represented The North Kerry Hurling Boardand the Crotta Hurling Club at the Munster SeniorScor recitation competition. Sonnny delivered his piece extremely well in what was a very tight competition and while he fell short of securing a place in the All Ireland final we wish to acknowledge his dedication and thank him for his efforts. We in the club would like to express our thanks to all the scór participants who represented the club throughout the year.

FUN TABLE QUIZ
The Parents Association of Kilflynn National School are hosting a family fun quiz night in Herbert's and Parker's bar, Kilflynn village on Thursday April 13th(Holy Thursday) at 8pm sharp. CROTTA COISTE NA NOG AWARDS NIGHT
A large crowd of young excited hurlers together with their parents, family and friends attend the Crotta Coiste Na Nog awards presentation on Wednesday 29th March at St Columbus Centre Kilflynn. Players, mentors, parents and supporters alike were excited for a chance to meet our special guests on the night. None other than the young/ senior hurler of the year Austin Gleeson (Waterford) as well as current Waterford senior team manager Derek McGrath were our guests on the night. Also in attendance on the night were County Board Hurling office Ger McCarthy Joe Walsh and North Kerry Hurling Board Chairman Joe Walsh
To the sounds of the Sunday Game theme tune both men made their entrance to thunderous applause. Crotta Coiste Na Nog Chairman Sonny Egan opened the event and asked the people present to observe a minute silence for the late Kieran Nolan. A fitting and respectful minute silence in which you could hear a pin drop was observed. Sonny then welcomed our two guests to Kilflynn and thanked them for taking time out of their hectic schedules to attend our awards. He thanked all players for their dedication to improving their skills during the year. Parents, grandparents, coaches, mentors and all who helped out in anyway during the year on and off the playing field were also acknowledged.
Paul O'Donoghue thanked both men for making the long journey to the Kingdom and said it was great for the young players to have two great GAA men present at our medals presentation.
The 2016 season was a very successful year for The Crotta juveniles with the following teams brining titles to the club

The medal presentation then got under way with medals being presented to each of the Victorious Crotta U-10,U-11, U-12, U-13, U-14 And U-16 panels.
A member from each team management introducing each player individually. Austin Gleeson presented each player with their medals and posed for a memorable photograph.
With all the formalities completed it was time to enjoy the beautiful food supplied by Karen Tuite, Prims. Bringing the evening to a close Sonny announced the result of the raffle with Denis Nolan winning a hurley signed by Austin Gleeson and Derek McGrath and the Cronin twins Paddy and Matt wining a signed Sliotar
each.
Sonny again thanked all people for attending and wished all players and mentors all the best for 2017.
The Crotta Club would like to thank all who helped out in any way to make this such an enjoyable and successful night. We appreciate all the work they put into the night individually and as a team. Most importantly to Karen in Prims for the beautifully presented and tasting food and St Columbus Centre management for the use of the hall. Thanks to Ann Mahony and The Crotta Scor na nOg musicians of Thomas Breen Conor Breen and Rory Mahony who entertained the crowd with some beautiful tunes.
Here’s to another successful season ahead.

KILFLYNN COMMUNITY TOGETHER
The Kilflynn Community Together’s inarguable Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday the 6th of April at 8:45pm in St. Columbus Centre. All Welcome!! In advance of the AGM, an election of both resident representatives and business representatives will take place. Residents will be given the opportunity to elect 6 representatives at a public meeting which will be held on Tuesday the 4th of April @ 8:45pm in St. Columbus Centre. Following this meeting local Businesses will be given an opportunity to elect 6 representatives to the committee from within the business community from a meeting which will be held at 9:30pm also Tuesday The 4th of April in St. Columbus Centre.

SCOR SINSEAR NA MUMHAN 2017
On this Saturday April 8th; the Cappamore Community Centre, County Limerick will host the Munster Finals of Scor Sinsear where Kerry will be represented in all seven catagories and no doubt as on each occasion down through the years will face tough opposition from the remaining Counties; Cork, Clare, Tipperary, Limerick and Waterford before the final results will be known. Best of luck to all Kerry competitors especially Sonny Egan, who is representing The North Kerry Hurling Board and the Crotta Hurling Club in the Recitation.

KILFLYNN SPRING CLEAN UP
On Saturday April 8th at 10:00am Kilflynn Community Together will be starting our Kilflynn Spring Cleanup in the village as part of the KWD Recycling County Clean-Up. We look forward to seeing you all there; everyone welcome to participate! We will be providing bags, gloves, and pickers. Every little bit helps to make Kilflynn a better place to live!

Crotta U16 hurlers played their final game against neighbours Abbeydorney on Thursday night 30th March in Abbeydorney and came out victorious on a score line of 4-13 to 2-07. Crotta led by 3-09 to 1-04 at the interval break. They have now qualified for the semi final of the Division 1 County hurling league. Game fixed for Thursday 13th of April.

Crotta Senior hurlers were unable to field a team for their North Kerry Hurling Board league game on Sunday morning 2nd April and conceded the game to St.Brendans. Crotta Seniors commence their County league Div 1 campaign against Kilmoyley on Sunday 9th April in Lerrig at 3.00p.m.
Crotta minors commenced their season on Sunday eveing 3rd April in Abbeydorney and were defeated by Lixnaw on a score of 3-11 to 2-07. The Sides were level at 5 pts a piece at the interval break.

CILLARD CAMOGIE
Congratulations to Cillard U14 Camogie team on a fantastic win last Monday against Causeway, in the 1st round of the County Feile. Final score was 7-02 to 2-02. Girls put in an amazing performance in harsh conditions.

EASTER HURLING CAMP
Kerry and Crotta Hurler Shane Nolan along with Kerry Hurler Colum Harty are hosting an Easter Camp (10th to 13th April) for all boys and girls from Age 8 - 13. Registration Night is on Friday March 31st in Causeway GAA Grounds. Anyone interested in signing up before that please contact Shane on 089 2391801 or Colum. Limited places are available it will be done on a first come first serve basis.

KILFLYNN CHURCH YOUTH CHOIR
We are currently in the process of establishing our first teenage Youth Choir in Kilflynn. We are seeking singers and musicians from 13 years to join us for fun lively rehearsals with a view to learning, up-tempo Folk/Gospel/ and Irish traditional pieces.
