RADIO KERRYS POPULAR PROGRAMME FOR KILFLYNN
Frank Lewis of Radio Kerry has approached Kilflynn CT re the broadcast of a special programme based on Kilflynn in April.
April is his dawn chorus walk programme so the programme would be recorded with a start  time one hour before sunrise - on April 22 sunrise it is at 6.26 - so we would start at 5.30am.
The programme's aim is to have listeners say/feel ... 'Kilflynn sounds a hugely interesting place - I'll have to go there.' It is not a programme about community development - which would primarily be of interest to the people of Kilflynn themselves.
It is hoped that The programme would have 8 stops:
At each stop a 10 to 12 minute broadcast piece will be recorded.
The programme is centred around stories - be they unusual or everyday - with the emphasis on the human interest.
Bearing in mind that the aim is to excite, even amaze, listeners about Kilflynn's wealth of story ... this can range over:
·  Legend
·  Nature (geology/flora/fauna)
·  Antiquity/archaeology
·  Folklore
·  all associated with the  route.
One of the contributors at each stop could include a musician, singer(s), poet,… using only poems/music/songs that are local  or  relate to the  themes being discussed - no more than one poem, song or piece of music at any one stop .. perhaps at stops 2, 4, 6 and 8
If you would like to be considered to make a contribution to the show please  contact any member of KCT
(Final structure and content of the show is strictly at the discretion of the Frank Lewis show production team).
