KILFLYNN NATIONAL SCHOOL RE-OPEN 
St.Teresa's National School will re open on Thursday 30th August at 9.00a.m. 
We hope you all had an enjoyable summer holiday, Good luck to the children and the teachers going back to school and good luck to the little children who are starting school.

TODDLER GROUP KILFLYNN
Toddler Group will recommence on Thursday the 13th of September. It will run from 10am until 11.30 am in St Columba’s Community Centre, Kilflynn. There is lots of fun and games to be had by the children allowing the adults some time for coffee and chats.  All new babies, toddlers, parents, grandparents and childminders welcome. KERRY U-14, U-15 AND U-16 HURLERS
The Kerry U14, U15 & U16 Hurling Teams were in Inter-County Action on Saturday 25th August. The U14s travelled to Waterford to take part in Forristal/Sonny Walsh Tournament
There was mixed luck for the Kerry U-14s, Going down by 2-10 to 2-08 to overall winners Cork with a sweet victory over Galway by 1-11 to 1-09 in Erins Own, Poleberry Rory Mahony represented Crotta on Kerry U14 Hurling Team
The Kerry U15 Hurlers lost to Wexford by 2 points following a controversial last minute penalty for Wexford in Clanoulty Co Tipperary. but Kerry defeated Carlow in the 3rd/4th place play-off. Final Score: Kerry 4-12 Carlow 3-11. 
The Crotta Hurling Club was well represented on the U-15 team by Sean McGrath Gavin Parker, Cillian Baker Cian Hickey, and Niall Heaton.
The Kerry U16 Hurlers travelled to Mallow, were short players from Abbeydorney, Causeway and Ballyheigue due to their involvement in Sunday’s minor final & had to travel with a depleted squad & lost to Kilkenny & Cork.The Crotta Club was represented by Aodan behan and Tadgh McKenna on the team with Dermot Ryan (Manager) Well done to the Kerry U-14, U15 & U16 hurlers and their mentors who gave a good account of themselves on Saturday. A great days experience for all who got the call up to wear the Kerry GAA jersey.

COUNTY FINAL
Congratulations and well to Abbeydorney who won the County Minor hurling Title with a 3-11 to 1-16 victory over Ballyheigue/Cauesway Side also Congrats and Well done to Lixnaw who captured the County Senior Hurling title when they had a victory over Kilmoyley by 1-16 to 2-11. both games were played in Austin Stacks Park, Tralee on Sunday 26th August.

BALLYHEIGUE PATTERN DAY

LIXNAW GOLF SOCIETY
held their annual 3 ball scramble at Ballyheigue Golf Club last Thursday evening 23rd August. All eyes were on Roger Hussey who was going for his 6th in a row. Unfortunately he just lost out to Maurice Fahy, Ger Griffin and Tom Lynch who came first on the day. In second place was Roger Hussey, Con Keeffe and Neily Sullivan. Thanks to everyone who showed up on the night. Next outing is in Adare Golf Club on 29th of September. Tee times from 11.40am to 12.40pm

Bus to Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park, Sunday 26th  August.  Places have now become available on the bus from our pastoral area.  The bus is leaving from Ardfert church car park at 5.30 am, with a stop in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh for breakfast en route.  We hope to arrive at the Phoenix Park by 1 pm for Mass at 3 pm.  A 3 – 5 km walk each way is involved. Total cost for the bus and breakfast is €40.  Ticket registration for the event is automatically included.  If you wish to book a seat, please contact your local parish office who will make the booking and take payment from you.

ROSE OF TRALEE
Good luck to Sorcha Rochford representing Boston and New England at the Rose of Tralee Festival. Sorcha’s parents are both from Kerry with her Mother Margaret Rochford (nee Condon) a native of  Knocknaska, Kilflynn, while her father Gerry Rochford, is a native of Ballyduff.

CROTTA CUL HURLING CAMP 
Another very successful Kellogg's GAA Cul Camp was held in the Sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn, from Monday 6th to Friday 10th August . 55 players attended and all had an enjoyable action-packed and fun-filled week. 
Congratulations and Well done to Sean McElligott and Ella Buckley who won the Skills competitions. Thanks to Patrice Diggins, Co-ordinator and her team of Coaches, Shane Conway,  Evan Murphy , Eilis Harrington and Gavin Dooley who shared some of their hurling skills tips with the young players. Thanks to all the players and their parents for the great support shown for the Kellogg’s Cúl Camp also a big thanks to Jason Nolan (Crotta Field Caretaker) for the having the Sportsfield and the facilities excellent conditions.

CROTTA GAA
The Crotta Senior Hurlers are taking part in the The Beacon Hospital Kilmacud Crokes GAA Club All-Ireland Hurling Sevens again this year. They will play in the Shield Competition. After reaching the Final last year hopefully they can go one step further and win it out this year.It will be held this Saturday 18th August.
The festival of Hurling includes three tournaments (Senior, Shield, U13) and is spread over 5 venues in the Kilmacud area. There is free admission to group games in UCD, Deerpark, Silverpark and Naomh Olaf (Crottas Venue for group games), while its €10 for adults and free entrance for kids into Glenalbyn, with the knockout stages all taking place in the Stillorgan venue. Games start at 10am, while the Shield final takes place at 6pm and the Senior Final takes place at 6.30pm.
Any Crotta supporters around Dublin please come to the family orientated event and enjoy a feast of top quality hurling action on All-Ireland Saturday. We wish the lads in Green and Red and their management the best of luck on Saturday.

WEDDING BELLS
Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Gráinne Herbert, daughter of Pat and Joan Herbert,Castletown, Kilflynn, and Ian O’Carroll, son of Stephen and Patricia O’Carroll, Lyre, Lisselton, who were married on Friday 3rd August in St Mary’s Church, Kilflynn. Dr David Gunn and Fr Denis O’Mahony officiated at the at the beautiful ceremony. Best man was Padraig Bunyan and groomsmen were Stephen, Kieran O’Carroll and Shane Herbert. Bridesmaids were Sandra Henchy with Siobhan O’Donoghue, Michelle McKenna and Christina Bate. Flowergirls were Grace O’Donoghue and Sophie Mai Herbert. Pageboy was Fionn O’Donoghue. The reception was held in the Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee and the couple will reside in Kilflynn.  We wish Grainne and Ian many happy years of married life together.

Crotta Hurlers Darragh Ryan, Adam O'Sullivan, Darragh Kennelly, Barry Mahony (Man of the Match) Jordan Conway and Tomás O'Connor members of the Victories Kerry U-21 Hurling panel who Captured The All Ireland U21 B championship Title (Richie McElligott Cup) when they had a 2-20 to 0-12 victory over Derry in Nowlan, Park Kilkenny on Saturday 4th August.


KERRY U21s
Congratulations and Well done to Kerry team and management who had a 2-20 to 0-12 victory  over Derry in the final of the Richie McElligott All Ireland U21 B championship in Nowlan Park Kilkenny on  Saturday 4th August.
This was Kerrys second year in a row winning the competition. 
Crotta was well represented by  Barry Mahony (Wing Back) 0-01 , Tomás O'Connor (Mid Field) Jordan Conway (Wing Forward ) 1-03 with Adam O’Sullivan, Darragh Ryan, and Darragh Kennelly were also members of the Victories panel. Congratulations to Barry Mahony who received the TG4 Man of the Match award. Barry was was interviewed live on TG4 after the match and he aqquited himself very well.

Crotta Hurling Club Cul Camp takes place at its GAA grounds in Dromakee from Monday the 6th to Friday the 10th of August. This is open to both boys and girls aged between 6 - 13 yrs. Book your child's place on the first morning of the camp.

Crotta Senior Hurlers interest in this year’s The Garvey's SupeValu Kerry County Hurling Championship came to an end at Austin Stacks Park, Tralee on Saturday 28th July when they were defeated by Kilmoyley by 1-15 to 2-11, despite leading by 2-08 to 1-05 at the interval break.

Crotta U10's had a victory over near neighbours Lixnaw in a challenge game played in beautiful sunshine at Dromakee on Sunday morning 29th July. Well done to all players, parents and mentors. Thanks to Lixnaw GAA for a sporting game .Crotta U6's and U8's had an outing on Monday evening 30th July when they played Lixnaw in a challenge match in Lixnaw. Very enjoyable evening of Hurling all round. Thanks to all players parents, mentors and Lixnaw GAA for hosting.

SUMMER DANCE WORKSHOP
Come wiggle and giggle with Danceology’s Moove ‘n’ Groove summer dance workshop. We invite all boys and girls between the ages of 4yrs – 10yrs to interact and explore through different types of dance including Tap, Modern, and Sean Nós.
