The following Christmas Ceremonies will take place at St. Mary Church, Kilflynn: Saturday 24th December: Vigil Mass - Christmas Eve 10 p.m., Sunday 25th December - Christmas Day 10 a.m. Confessions will take place on Tuesday 21st December, in Kilflynn at 8.30 p.m. and in Abbeydorney on the same night at 7.30 p.m. Visiting priests will be available for confessions. There will also be Confession on Christmas Eve from 12 noon to 1.00 p.m. in Abbeydorney.

SENIOR CITZENS CHRISTMAS PARTY
A Total of 120 Senior Citizens of the parish wined and dined for annual Christmas outing at Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee on Sunday last 18 th December. After the meal Ann and Moria provided music. A Big Thank you to all those who donated the spot prizes, the Hotel for providing a beautiful meal, and the committee for organising a wonderful day.

The Kerry Branch of the Samaritans will hold it's Annual Church-gate Collection on 24th/25th December. The Samaritans are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

News has reached the district of the death in the England recently of Willie Ryan, Watford and late of Ballyconnel, Kilflynn. Willie was laid to rest in Watford Cemetery on Monday 19th December. Willie is survived by his wife Nora, his Daughters Angela, Susan, Eileen and Anne, His Son John, his Brother Geroge, his Sisters Sr. Brendan, Sr. Eileen and Nora, Sisters in law, Brother in Law, Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends to offer our sincere sympathy. May he rest in peace.
KILFLYNN COURSING MEETING
On Saturday 3 rd and Sunday 4 th December, Kilflynn coursing club held there second meeting since its formation. Conditions could only be described as heavy going for both man and dog but great credit is due to all club members for running a very successful meeting over the two days. The following were the winners of the stakes ran.

Winner here was Murtys Blaze owned by the ATM syndicate headed by none other than Clare hurling manager Anthony Daly who was there to collect the €4,000 prize money and cup.

This stake is confined to working members and the winner here was Micks Boston owned and trained in Cappa by Donie Walsh.
Jean O Neill Memorial Cup and Replica
Winner here was Confident Comet owned by Dave Nelligan

Winner here was Paddys hentoy owned by Al Tubridy From Co Clare and also trained by Gerry Holian who also trained cup winner Murtys Blaze for the ATM syndicate.

There was a great local celebration here when “Are We There Yet” won the all aged bitch stake for joint owners Joan Herbert and Donie Walsh.
Kilflynn Santos Senior Soccer team had a 5-2 victory over Ballybunnion on Sunday away. Two goals each from Brendan Keane and Aiden Scanlon and a goal from Garry Hogan put Santos on Top of the League Table.
ABBEYDORNEY GOLF SOCIETY
The Society's Christmas Scramble outing due to be held in Castleisland Golf Club last Saturday had to be cancelled as the Castleisland golf course was unplayable. It is hoped to rearrange this fixture in the New Year.

SANTA CLAUS made his annual visit to St.Columba's Centre Kilflynn, on Sunday 11 th December, laden down with a sackfull of presents, where over 80 happy Children who each received a special little gift met him. Both children and parents had an enjoyable day.

The County Kerry Hunt club will hold a hunt in the Kilflynn area on Wednesday 29th December.
The Crotta Hurling Club Annual General Meeting was held at St. Columbas Centre, Kilflynn on Saturday night 10th December. There was a good attendance present. Paud Twomey Chairman presided. The games and club events of the past year were reviewed, with Secretary James Sheehan, Treasurer Declan Falvey both presented very detailed accounts while Gerry Leinhan Chairman of The Finance Committee also presented a very detailed account prepared by Finance Treasurer Denis Lynch.
Bord Na Og Chairman Sonny Egan gave an excellent detailed report of all the Bord Na Og Club's Activities during 2005.

Sincere Sympathy is extended to Joan Herbert, and her family, Castletown, Kilflynn on the death of her brother Tim Kennelly, Bedford, Listowel.
There was widespread shock when the news of the former Kerry Footballer Tim Kennelly filtered through the county and beyond on Tuesday 6 th December, aged just 51, the five times All Ireland Senior medal winner passed away suddenly at the family home in Listowel. Tim was a true gentleman and had many friends in Kilflynn, After winning the All Irelands, Tim always made sure that Kilflynn National School was one of the first to get a glimpse of the Sam Maguire. Tim is survived by his wife Nuala, his sons Noel and Tadgh, his daughter Joanne and his mother Margaret, his sisters, Mary, Joan, Breda, and Geraldine, his brothers Eamon and Mike, nephews, nieces, relatives and large circle of friends to whom we offer our sincere sympathy. May He Rest In Peace.
Kilflynn Santos Senior Soccer team had a 2-1 victory over Lerrig on Sunday last at Meadows Grounds, Crotta. The Santos goal scorers were Gary Hogan and Gary Curran.

All roads lead to Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee on Sunday 18 th December for the Annual Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Active Retirement Group Christmas party. This party has been in existence for a long number of years and is a most enjoyable day, with a meal followed by music and dancing. Bus Leaving Kilflynn Village at 1.00 p.m
The Annual Pre-Christmas Retreat for the Women of Abbeydorney and Kilflynn will take place on this Thursday Night December 15th at 8pm in the Ardfert Retreat Centre

Congratulations and Well done to Helen Mc Kenna and her Abbeydorney Ladies Football team mates who added the All Ireland Intermediate Football cup to their trophy cabinet when the ladies in Black and Amber defeated a Clan Eireann side from Armagh at Banagher Offaly in the All Ireland Intermediate Football Final on Sunday 4th December on the 2-13 to 1-05 Scoreline. Helen had her usual excellent game at Full Back on the victory team. The victory squad, their mentors and their jubilant supporters paid a visit to Parker’s Pub, and Cronin’s Bar, Kilflynn on their home with the silverware on Sunday evening where they received a warm reception.
Due to time constraint and lack of resources the Kilflynn Chronicle Magazine will not be published this Christmas.
There will be a Music Session with Fergus, Ray and Friends in Parker’s Pub on Sunday evening 11th December from 6.00 to 8.00 p.m.

Abbeydorney Golf Society will hold its Christmas Scramble at Castleisland Golf Club on Saturday the 10th Dec. The tee is booked between 10:30am and 12:00 noon. Cronin's Bar Kilflynn is kindly sponsoring the outing where the presentation of prizes will take place immediately after golf. Guests are welcome to play. Tim Kennelly R.I.P.
Former Kerry football great Tim Kennelly passed away earlier today at his Listowel home. He was 51 years-old.
In a glittering career with the Kingdom, Kennelly picked up five All-Ireland winners medals, captaining the side in 1979. He was also a member of the winning sides in 1975, 1978, 1980 and 198. In the 1980 final against Roscommon, Kennelly was named man-of-the-match.
Renowned for his positional sense and strength on the ball, Kennelly was a formidable centre-half back and was decorated with two All Star awards.
His sons, Noel and Tadgh, both excelled on the sports field, Noel wining an All-Ireland in 2000 while Tadgh became the first Irishman to win an Aussie Rules Grand Final earlier this year
