A BIG "MILE BUIOCHAS " FROM ABBEYDORNEY/KILFLYNN ST.VINCENT DE PAUL
As we are in the season of reflecting, gratitude and waiting in joyful hope we in the St V de Paul Society know that many families would wait in tears if it was not for the ongoing support of the local community. Last week end's church gate collection plus private anonymous donations handed to us during the past week and the proceeds of the children's disco 250 euro organised by Kilflynn Community together make the difference.
We will not have to leave any request for help unanswered even if we may not be able to reach as big as we might like the basics plus a bit more will reach all the wonderful people who welcome us into their homes.
Whatever you did during the year take a bow and may all the families in the parish be blessed by the Infant Jesus and St Vincent de Paul..Please keep up your good work and have a lovely Christmas.

KILFLYNN CANCER SUPPORT GROUP ANNUAL TABLE QUIZ
This Christmas the Kilflynn Cancer Support Group is holding its twelfth annual table quiz. The group was originally set up by Fr. Pat O'Donnell in 2004. Pat is a cancer survivor and came up with the idea of holding a fundraising quiz in Kilflynn at Christmas time. The success of the first quiz ensured that it would become an annual event and to date over €60,000 has been raised and distributed to cancer charities and organisations in Kerry and Cork. This year the quiz will take place on Monday night, December 28th at 9.00p.m and as usual will be a simulcast between Parker’s Pub and Herbert’s Bar. Over the past few years the proceeds have been divided between Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support and these groups will be the beneficiaries again this year. As well as being a great fundraiser it has now turned into a great social occasion each Christmas with local families returning each year. The fun filled quiz night is not all about answering questions as there are also numerous auctions and raffles which add to the atmosphere. The organisers would be grateful to receive any unwanted Christmas presents or spot prizes for the various auctions and raffles on the night, all donations can be handed in to Parker’s Pub or Herbert’s Bar and shop. As usual the quizmaster for the event is John Flaherty.
