KILFLYNN CANCER QUIZ
Santa is on his way and so is the annual Kilflynn Cancer Quiz. On Thursday, 28th December, the local pubs will host the fifteenth edition of the quiz. John Flaherty is again the quizmaster as he has been since the inaugural quiz in 2004. Late Late Show stars Conor and Daragh Breen will again join John to help with the music questions and entertain the crowd. To date the quiz has raised almost €67,000 and the proceeds will again be divided between Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support. The fun filled quiz night is not all about answering questions, as there are also numerous auctions and raffles which add to the atmosphere. Amongst the items being auctioned are sports good and memorabilia, books and a butchered lamb, sponsored by Mick Brady. The organisers would be grateful to receive any donations for the various raffles or goods that we could sell on the night. So if you have any unwanted presents don’t put them in the attic, give them to us to raise much-needed funds for our charities. All donations can be handed in to Parker’s Pub, Herbert’s Bar and shop and Irish Truck and Trailer. Proceedings begin at 9 so be sure to arrive early to secure a table.

KILFLYNN CANCER QUIZ CELEBRATES FIFTEEN YEARS
This Christmas the Kilflynn Cancer Quiz is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary. Back in 2004 Fr Pat O'Donnell, a cancer survivor, came up with the idea of holding a fundraising quiz in Kilflynn at Christmas time so the Kilflynn Cancer Support Group was formed. The success of that inaugural quiz ensured that it would become an annual event and to date over €67,000 has been raised and distributed to local cancer charities. Unfortunately the need for funds to run various cancer support charities is greater than ever so your support would be greatly appreciated. This year’s quiz will be held on Thursday night, December 28th at 9pm and as usual will be a simulcast between Parker’s Pub and Herbert’s Bar. The proceeds will again be divided between Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support. As well as being a great fundraiser, the quiz has become an integral part of Christmas celebrations in the Kilflynn community, with local families returning each year. Much support is also received from our neighbouring parishes. As this is a milestone year for the quiz it would be wonderful to see some of our many friends from the early year making a return. crotta hurlers medals 17
Crotta Hurlers  Tomás O'Connor, Adrian Mahony, Darragh Ryan, Barry Mahony and Jordan Conway were presented with their All Ireland medals on Saturday night 2nd December in the Rose Hotel tonight, Tralee

Medals Presentation Banquet
Saturday night 2nd December was a big night for Kerry’s Minor and Junior Footballers and Under 21 Hurlers when they were presented with their All Ireland Medals at a function in The Rose Hotel Tralee.
The Minor footballers of Course completed an historic 4-in-a-row of All Ireland titles when defeating Derry in Croke Park on a day on which scoring records of all kinds were broken in the course of  recording their 15th title.
The County’s Under 21 Hurlers found Wicklow a tough nut to crack in the All Ireland Minor B Championship final in Semple Stadium in Thurles before edging out the Garden County on a 2-12 to 2-8 scoreline to ensure that the Ritchie McElligott Cup returned to Lixnaw and Kerry.
The Junior Footballers completed a 3-in-a-row of titles and that is extraordinary given that they did so with three different teams! Meath were the challengers this time in Portlaoise but they could not cope with Killian Spillane’s men as Kerry go to the top of the Junior Roll of Honour with 18 titles.
Congratulations to the Crotta player's  Barry Mahony who received his All-Ireland Minor Football Medal and also to Tomás O'Connor, Adrian Mahony, Darragh Ryan and Jordan Conway who were presented with their All Ireland B U-21 medals.
Mick O’Dwyer and Maurice Fitzgerald were the special guests on Saturday night.
