The Victorious Crotta Under 10,11, 12,14 and 15 hurling panels will receive their medals from a Special guest at The Crotta Coiste Na Nog awards night in St. Senan’s Club Hall, Mountcoal on Saturday 1st March at 7.30.p.m. U-10,U-11, U-12, U-14 and U-15 Players and parents of players from these panels are invited to attend. KERRY HURLERS
The Kerry Senior hurlers made it two wins out of two games in the Allianz League Div 2A at the Tom Healy Memorial Park Abbeydorney, on Sunday 23rd February with a 2-24 to 0-13 over Kildare.
Kerry led by 13 points at the break, 1-15 to 0-05. Well done to the Kerry player's and especially the Crotta players who played well Sean Weir at wing back who scored the first point of the match and Shane Nolan who scored 0-08 playing at Corner Forward.. Kerry are away to Westmeath on March 9th in round 3

Sliabh A'Mhadra National School Parents Association are holding a Fashion Show Fundraiser on Friday March 7th 2014.

KERRY HURLERS
The Kerry Senior hurlers made the long trip to Ballinascreen and got their Allianz League Div 2A campaign off to a winning start with a 4-24 to 3-09 victory over Derry on Sunday 16th February. Kerry lead by 14 points at the break, 3-12 to 2-01. Well done to the Kerry player's and especially the Crotta players who played well Sean Weir at wing back and Shane Nolan who scored 1-11 playing at Corner Forward. Kerry's next outing is on Sunday next (2pm) in Austin Stack Park against Kildare who went down by 1-18 to 1-9 at home to John Meyler's Carlow in Round 1.

14 dart players participated in the weekly dart doubles in Parker’s snug Bar, Kilflynn on Saturday night 15th Ferburary, John Leahy and Mike Fealy defeated Paud Twomey and Declan Falvey in the final.

Adam O'Sullivan, Crotta, who scooped the Crotta Hurling Club Jackpot of €7,000 at Parkers Pub on Monday night 10th February

ADAM WINS THE CROTTA LOTTO JACKPOT
Parker‘s Pub, Kilflynn was the venue for the Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw on Monday night, 10th February. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the Independent observer: Dermot Ryan, Knocknacaska, Kilflynn, were 9,14,19 and 28. There was one winner of the Jackpot. Congratulations to Adam O’Sullivan, C/o Jerome O’Sullivan, Crotta Cross, Lixnaw who scooped the Clubs Lotto Jackpot of €7,000.
Adam’s Parents Sheila and Jerome O’Sullivan, Crotta Cross, are great supporters of the club and of the weekly lotto and has been buying tickets every week since the local fundraiser began, Adam and his Sister Amy and Brother Evan plays hurling for Crotta and his mother Sheila bought his lucky ticket from ticket seller John Kelly, Kilflynn.
The Causeway Comprehensive student, Adam was the toast of the area and beyond on Tuesday morning as the news of his big win circulated and he is looking forward to be presented with his cheque of €7,000. Hanna May O’Connell, Rathkenny, Abbeydorney was the last person to scoop the Club’s lotto Jackpot on Monday night, 18th February 2013.

SYMPATHY
The death has occurred of Maurice (Mossie) Carmody of Little Battenhurst, Gortcloghy, Kilflynn and formerly of Rea, Kilflynn, at Kerry General Hospital, Tralee on Saturday 1st February. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, sisters Hannah, Rita and Betty, brothers James and Simon, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends to whom we offer our sincere sympathies on behalf of the Community. His remains were removed from Stack’s Funeral Home Lixnaw on Monday evening to St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn. Requiem mass on Tuesday celebrated by Fr. Denis Mahony Abbeydorney P.P , followed by cremation in the Island Crematorium Cork. A guard of honour was provided on both days by The Kilflynn Area Development and Fine Gael and his many friends. May he rest in peace.

The Annual general meeting of the Kilflynn Area Development Ltd was held on Wednesday night 29th January at 9.00p.m in St. Columbus Centre, Kilflynn. A good attendance on the night and especially welcome were the new faces present. Many ideas were discussed and future plans made to enhance the Village during the coming year. The Officers were retained for the coming year namely Chairman: Mike Neenan, Secretery Maureen Weir and Treasure Tom McElligott.

Sixteen dart players participated in the weekly dart doubles in Parker’s lounge Bar, Kilflynn on Saturday night 8th Ferburary, Eoin Lynch and Mike Fealy defeated Oliver Nash and Declan Falvey in the final.
The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday night 15th February at 10.30 p.m. in Parkers lounge Bar. Names MUST be in for 10.15 p.m. NO Names after this Time. First game of the Tournament must start at 10.30p.m. Sharp. Strictly over 18s. Sixteen players participated in the Weekly Single Darts
Tournament on Wednesday night 5th February in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn, Shane Nolan defeated Keith O’Carroll in the final. Beaten semi finalist were Tony Mulvihill who is coming back to his best darts and Michael McCarthy. The Single Darts Tournament will continue every Wednesday night. .

Be part of the Radio Kerry, Ring of Kerry charity cycle on Saturday 5th July, the Irish Red Cross are one of the 9 benefactors from this year’s cycle and will be hosting an information evening and signing up cyclist this Friday night 7th February in the Grand Hotel Tralee from 6-9pm. All welcome.

GRANDPARENT’S DAY
A large gathering of grandparents took place in St Teresa's N.S. Kilflynn on Friday, 31st January. The occasion was marked by a prayer service in honour of St. Brigid and St. Blaise, Blessing of Throats by Fr. O'Mahony, presentation of St. Brigid's Crosses made in school and a preview of the Peace Proms performance by 3rd to 6th class pupils. This event will take place in INEC, Killarney on Sunday 9th February.
Friday was a great social occasion enjoyed by all present, The school is very appreciative of the on-going support received from grandparents and the wider community.
