HANNON TO RUN FOR ELECTION
Sinn Fein in Kerry has added a new face to its local elections card with Kilflynn man, Moss Hannon joining sitting Councillors Cathal Foley and Toiréasa Ferris in Tralee town Council area. The candidates were announced on Monday night 19th January following a party convention in the Abbey Gate Hotel, Tralee.
Foley and Ferris will seek re-election to Tralee Town Council and Cllr Ferris will also seek re-election to Kerry County Council. Fifty four old Mr. Hannon, an Eircom technician, has been chosen to run in the Tralee electoral area. He is well know across the county as a talented musician, and is a long member of Sinn Fein and is an active community worker. “I am honoured to have been selected by party and my intention is to win a second seat for Sinn Fein in the Tralee area. I delighted to join the ticket alongside someone as talented as Toireasa Ferris and I believe we are in a very strong position to win an extra seat” said Moss Hannon.
According to Mr. Hannon there is serious anger amongst the people of Kerry in relation to the state of the economy.
“The majority of that anger in directed at the party that has been running the country for the past 12 years. There is a mood for change and Sinn Fein is in a unique position, particularly in North Kerry, to benefit from that. Sinn Fein has a proven track record of hard work and representation on Kerry County Council and if elected I will be determined to compliment the fantastic work that both Councillors Ferris and Beasley have been doing for the last five years”

GAA SEASON TICKET
The GAA has launched a reduced price Season Ticket for the 2009 season. This is the first of many planned ticketing packages to be introduced over the coming years as part of the Association's continuing development of ticketing operations.
The county and code specific ticket has been designed to meet the unique requirements of the GAA fixtures schedule. The ticket, excellent value at €75 entitles the supporter to entry to all Allianz GAA National League round games and the first round of the GAA Senior championship involving their county in their chosen code and a discounted price for all subsequent games, excluding Provincial and All-Ireland final.
There is an in-built loyalty programme involved in the ticket in that, should the supporter's county in the chosen code, qualify for the All-Ireland final then based on a minimum attendance of 60% the supporter is guaranteed an All-Ireland final ticket.
Speaking at the launch, GAA President Nickey Brennan said: "I am very pleased to launch the GAA Season Ticket for 2009, which has been designed to accommodate our unique fixtures programme. I am particularly delighted that loyal supporters now have the opportunity to guarantee themselves a ticket for the All-Ireland final should their county qualify."
