Parents who wish to enrol their children in St. Teresa's National School, Kilflynn for the academic year 2015/16 are invited to an Open Evening on Friday 30th January from 5 - 6:30 p.m. We would love to meet your children also so please bring them along. CROTTA HURLING CLUB A.G.M
The Crotta Hurling Club Annual General Meeting was held before a nice sizeable crowd in St. Columbas Centre, Kilflynn on Saturday 24th January.
The chairman, Paddy Weir, presided over the meeting. Club Secretary, Annette Nolan, gave an account of the clubs activities both on and off the field during the year. Club Treasurer, Johnny Hannon, presented a comprehensive report of the clubs finances. Crotta Coiste na Nog Chairman Sonny Egan, gave a very detail report of a very successful Bord Na Og in 2014.The following officers were elected to serve the club for the 2014 season: Patron: Fr. Denis O‘Mahony. President: John McCarthy. Vice President: Tom Cronin, Tom Kenny, Dick Mc Elligott, and Jimmy Lawlor. COMMUNITY GAMES A.G.M
The AGM of Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Community Games will be held in the Community Hall (meeting room) on Thursday 29th January at 8 p.m. As the members of the current committee have all decided to step down it is important that new members are willing to form a committee or they will be no Community Games activities in the parish this year. It would be great to see Community Games continuing in the parish as it has been there for over 30 years, however it needs new volunteers if its to continue. Congratulations and Well done to Ardfert Footballers who booked their place in the All Ireland Intermediate Club final on Sunday on the final score Ardfert 1-8 to Warrenpoint 0-10
In that final in Croke Park on Valentines Day, Ardfert will play St Croans of Roscommon who defeated Sean O’Mahonys of Louth in the other semi final by 0-14 to 2-7.

Traditional music lovers will be out in force in Kilflynn on Saturday night, January 31st, when Parker’s lounge bar hosts a Biddy night featuring local musicians and Signers commencing at 9.30p.m. Musicians are also invited to bring along their Musical Instruments and partake in the fun.

A maximum of 64 cars can be entered Cars competing in this and related events are underpowered, relying completely upon gravity to move. Teams will consist of 3 members only one of whom can drive due to insurance restrictions. This driver must be nominated 6 days in advance of the competition. Kerry made their exit from the Waterford Crystal Cup when going down to UCC in the quarter final tie in heavy and trying conditions on Saturday 18th January in Austin Stack Park, Tralee on the final scoreline of Kerry 2-14 to UCC 2-23. The Crotta Hurling club was represented by Sean Weir at wing back and Shane Nolan at corner forward scoring 0-8 (6fr) on the Kerry Team.

The Dancing resumed again after the Christmas break on Monday 13th January at 9pm sharp. In St.Columbas Centre, Kilflynn. And will continued every Monday night at 9.00 p.m. All Welcome.

NO JANUARY BLUES IN KILFLYNN
After all the Christmas and New Year festivities the Kilflynn Area Development Team in association with The Kilflynn Drama Group are all prepared to make January fly by with there up coming Variety Show that is full of Music, Dance, Laughter and Fun. The show is sure to have everyone leaving The Community Centre, Kilflynn at the end of the night with broad smiles on there faces. Opening on Friday 9th of January , it promises to be a great weekend with too further shows on Saturday l0th and Sunday llth . Curtain at 8.l5 each evening.
The Production Team are delighted with the support of the whole community and say that having the Kilflynn Church Choir opening the show each evening will raise the rafters and bring an energy that will permeate throughout the whole show . This they say will be worth the entrance fee alone, together with a host of other talented local musicians, Dancers , Storytellers and fantastic sketches provided by Kilflynn Drama Group , a great night is assured for all the family.

Tickets can be purchased at a cost €25 and can be got from any of the girls on the team .Also in attendance will be a special guest who will . On the night the presentation of League , Championship and Munster medals will be given to the girls after what was a very successful year for the Club. The club won Limerick Intermediate League , Limerick Intermediate Championship and Munster Junior Club.For what has been a great year great year for Clanmaurice and spirits will be high on the night due to a very successful special guest. Heres hoping to a successful 2015 in Camogie.
