Jasango Theatre are back with a bang with Geraldine Aron’s achingly funny My Brilliant Divorce. Following a two-year Irish tour and award-winning performances in the USA with Bombshells, Jasango brings you this wittily observant comedy. If you liked Bombshells you’ll love this one!
The comedy explores what life is like for Angela Kennedy-Lipsky, recently dumped by her accountant husband for a younger model. Rebuilding her life, she finds herself adrift in a sea of weird sexual encounters, sneaky solicitors, phone-in counsellors, a bad case of hypochondria and impending poverty. Should she fight to keep her husband? Or should she sign the final papers and move on? Fast-paced modern comedy-not to be missed.

ABBEYDORNEY/KILFLYNN COMMUNITY GAMES
It has been a very busy couple of weeks for the community games in the parish. It began with our county athletic finals where we had some very promising young athletes on show. On Saturday despite the bad weather, all our participants acquitted themselves very well, with Archy Ryall, Oisín Maunsell, Jedd Maunsell, Jack Hannon and Rebecca Falvey qualifying for semi-finals on Sunday. Our u-10 relay team of Ava Peevers, Caoimhe Spillane, Oisín Maunsell and Brenndán Walsh also made it through to the semi-finals but unfortunately didn't make it to the final. However, Jedd and Jack stepped up to the line for the u-8, 80m final and even though they weren't in the medals they showed great promise of things to come. Oisín ran in the u-10 hurdles and was very unlucky not to be in the medals, finishing 5th. Rebecca then ran the race of her life in the u-8 60m and deservedly won a bronze medal. Congratulations to all our competitors, we were all so proud of you. Our thanks also to the parents who were so helpful and supportive.
Long Puck: This competition was held on Tuesday night 28th June with both Michelle McCarthy u-14, and Adam Maunsell u-12 coming in 4th place and winning certificates. Very little seperated the top four in each competition.
U-11 Hurling The highlight of this year community games for our area has to be the performance of our gallant u-11 hurlers who against all the odds qualified for the Munster final in U.L on Saturday 9th July thereby making history by becoming the first Kerry hurling team to play in a Community Games Munster finals. It wasn't an easy road as they had a preliminary game on Monday night in Rathkeale, against a hotly favoured Patrickswell side who had beaten all before them in Limerick. However, our boys were not overawed by their opponents and they gave an exhibition of class and skill which deservedly saw them qualify for the semi-final against field and at no stage did they look like losing the game as they were far superior on the day, showing great heart, determination and skill all over the field. It was now on to the final against Douglas of Cork. They proved to be a step too far for our boys but Abbeydorney/Kilflynn hurled as if their lives depended on it and at half-time they were only 2 points behind. The strength of the Douglas team showed in the latter stages of the second half and they eventually won on a scoreline of 5-3 to 3-3. Of course our boys were very disappointed but hopefully in time they will recognise this great achievement of winning silver medals in Munster. We were all so pround of them both on and off the field. Our thanks to their trainers Tony Maunsell and Paul O'Donoghue whose dedication and hard work duly paid off. Also, to our large group of travelling supporters a very big thank you. The team was: K.O'Connor, D.O'Donoghue, S.Murnane, D.Murnane, A.Maunsell, O.Maunsell, D.O'Brien, M.Clifford, A.McKenna, S.Byrne, E.McCarthy, S.Conway, T.Ó hAiniféin, S.Donovan, S.Holden, R.Sheehan, J.Sheehan, S.Murphy, J.O'Hara-Parker.

COMMUNITY GAMES HURLING
Abbeydorney/Kilflynn U11 Community Games Hurling team made history at the weekend by being the first Kerry Hurling team ever to win medals at the Munster Finals. A remarkable achievement and well done to all concerned. Winners of all Munster counties were entered in the hat for the Munster draw and following this Abbeydorney/Kilflynn had to play Patrickswell/Crecora of Limerick in the quarter final. This match was played last Monday evening week in Rathkeale. It was a tremendous match and at half time Patrickswell had a slender lead on a scoreline of 1-03 to 1-02. The Abbey/Kilflynn lads upped their game in the second half and powered on by Adam Maunsell, Dean O'Brien, Aodhan McKenna, Oisin Maunsell Sean Murnane, James Sheehan and Darrragh O'Donoghue they emerged victorious on a score line of Abbeydorney/Kilflynn 3-05 Patrickswell/Crecora 2-05. Scorers Darragh O'Donoghue (1-02) Sean Murnane(1-02) Oisin Maunsell(1-01). Jubilant scenes followed and it was great to see so many had travelled to the match.
This victory meant the Abbeydorney/Kilflynn had qualified for Munster semi final which was played on Saturday 9th July in University of Limerick. Sixmilebridge were the semi final opponents and Abbeydorney/Kilflynn got off to a perfect start with a Shane Conway goal with two mins gone on the clock. Oisin Maunsell broke through the opposing defence only to see his goal bound effort superbly saved. Darragh O'Donoghue pointed the resultant 65. Oisin again was fouled while making a great run and Darragh O'Donoghue pointed the resultant free. Sixmilebridge did put a lot of pressure on for the remainder of the first half but only had a point to show for their efforts. The found the Abbey/Kilflynn defence in great form especially Goalkeeper Keith O'Connor and defenders Robbie Sheehan, Eoin McCarthy Sean Holden Aodhan McKenna Mikie Clifford and Adam Maunsell. The second half was a tough battle but The Abbeydorney/Kilflynn combination were better able to convert their possession into scores and both Sean Murnane and Darragh O'Donoghue scored goals to make the full time score Abbeydorney/Kilflynn 4-04 Sixmilebridge 1-01. Scorers: Darragh O'Donoghue(1-03)Sean Murnane(1-01)Shane Conway(1-00)Oisin Maunsell(1-00)
The final was against Douglas(Cork) who had beaten Roscrea(Tipperary) in the other semi final. Abbeydorney/Kilflynn started a bit nervously and Douglas took an early two goal lead. Sean Murnane registered the first score for Abbeydorney/Kilflynn firing over a nice point from play. Douglas then scored a point and following a good save by Sean Holden who then was fouled and injured in his attempt to clear, Douglas scored their third goal. The ref blew his whistle and while all in attendance thought he was awarding a free out he indicated the goal would stand. This seemed to spark the Kerry combination to life and two brilliant goals by the Maunsell cousins,Adam and Oisin put Douglas reeling. Darragh O'Donoghue tacked on a point to leave the Half time score Douglas 3-01 Abbeydorney 2-02. Abbeydorney did not score again in the second half despite all their pressure and Douglas finished the stronger. Final score Douglas 4-07 Abbeydorney/Kilflynn 2-02.
A tremendous effort by all concerned and no disgrace to lose to a part of Cork City that has a massive population compared to Abbeydorney and Kilflynn. I am sure that Douglas had some players that one day will hurl with Cork and all the talk after was what would have happened had we our full panel of players. Jack Parker O'Hara and James Sheehan were on holidays and were a massive loss. The team coaches were Tony Maunsell(Abbeydorney) and Paul O'Donoghue(Crotta). Thanks to all who helped make it possible. To the Players, Parents, both Abbeydorney and Crotta Hurling Clubs and especially to Patsy O'Connell who sorted out all the paperwork and gave us so much assistance. For the record the history making players were:Keith O Connor(Abbeydorney) Robbie Sheehan(A)Eoin McCarthy(A) AodhanMcKenna (Crotta) Mikie Clifford(A)Adam Maunsell(A)Sean Holden(A)Darragh O'Donoghue(Crotta)Tomas Hanafin(A)Oisin Maunsell(A)Dean O'Brien(A)James Sheehan(Crotta)Darragh Murnane(Crotta) Jack Parker O'Hara(A)Sean Murnane(Crotta) Shane Conway(A)Shane Byrne(A) Shane Donavan(A)Sean Murphy(A).

CROTTA COISTE NA NOG NEWS
Crotta U15: Crotta fielded an U15 team for the first time in over eight years on Thursday evening 30th June, which was great to see. Our opponents were Ardfert and the match took place in Dromakee. Crotta started very well and a brace of Darragh Regan points as well as a nice point by Jordan Conway put the home team in front. However in Ardfert’s first attack a very soft goal was conceded. This gave Ardfert the boost they needed and by half time Crotta trailed by 0-04 to 2-05. Crotta upped their game from the restart and a Jordan Conway goal lifted the team. Tom McElligott was really influencing play from centre back and Crotta drew level by the midway period of the second half. Raymond Nolan broke through the Ardfert defence to give Crotta the lead by goaling from close range. Two Ardfert points put the minimum again between the teams, but the Ardfert defence crumbled under sustained pressure and both Nolan and Regan beat the Ardfert keeper to put Crotta seven in front. Ardfert again replied with two points but a well taken score by Jordan Conway closed the scoring and a well deserved victory for a Crotta team made up of U14 team plus Tom McElligott. Final score Crotta 4-09 Ardfert 2-09. For the record the team was Brandon Conway Bill Keane(0-01) Darragh Ryan Dylan McElligott Tom Quinlan Tom McElligott Darragh Kennelly Adrian Mahony David Behan Raymond Nolan(2-00) Donnacha Brosnan Jordan Conway(1-03) Shane O'Neill Darragh Regan(1-05) Kieran Lyons.Subs Colin Browne for Shane O'Neill Jamie O'Sullivan for Dylan McElligott. Crotta U15 team will play Kilmoyley in Kilmoyley this Thursday(July 7th) in Kilmoyley at 7pm. Dressing rooms for 6.30pm.
Crotta U13 Our U13 team played Ardfert in Lerrig on Monday evening 27th June in the U13 County League Div 1 Final. It was not to be our evening and after a perfect start and a powerful first half of hurling Crotta faded somewhat in the second half and Ardfert took the title on a final score of Ardfert 2-11 Crotta 2-07. Cathal Kennelly continued his excellent goal scoring record and had the ball in the Ardfert net as early as the first minute. Darragh Kennelly(2)Adam O'Sullivan(2) and a pointed free by Barry Mahony saw Crotta reach half time leading on a scoreline of Crotta 1-05 Ardfert 0-04. This was certainly a team performance with a lot of outstanding performances all over the field. Crotta seemed to be second best in midfield and also under pressure in the half back line which was a worry for the selectors. Ardfert started in whirlwind fashion in the second half and had the lead pegged back within five mins. They seemed to get stronger and netted again in the 40th minute. Both sides traded a number of points but Crotta could not get another goal early enough to bring themselves back into the contest. A late Cathal Kennelly goal made the scoreline a bit more realistic but it was not enough. Scorers Cathal Kennelly(2-01)Darragh Kennelly(0-02)Adam O'Sullivan(0-02)Colin Browne(0-01)Barry Mahony(0-03).
Our U13 team had not much time to lick their wounds and faced Ardfert in the first round of the NK Championship in Dromakee on Saturday evening, 2nd July. The team was changed around a bit from the team that took the field in Lerrig and what ensued was an outstanding game of hurling from both teams. Crotta again as in the league final started with a goal. Sean O'Donoghue hit a long delivery over the Ardfert full back line and Donal Hunt kicked the sliotar to the back of the Ardfert net. Almost immediately Ardfert hit back with a goal themselves. Ardfert aided by a slight breeze gradually took control but the Crotta lads were giving everything they had. A couple of Barry Mahony piointed frees and a quickly taken free by Cathal Kennelly to Colin Browne resulted in another point. Paudie Dillon also scored a wonderful point just before the break. Half time Ardfert 2-07 Crotta 1-05. The second half was a tremendous battle with all 30 players trying their hearts out. A pointed Barry Mahony free and a well taken goal by Darragh O'Donoghue who had just been introduced left the bare minimum between the teams. Mahony kept his nerve from a difficult angle to tie the scores with 5 mins remaining. Crotta 2-09 Ardfert 2-09. Cathal Kennelly gave Crotta the lead for the first time since the opening minute with a tremendous run and score while under pressure. Colin Browne then powered his way through the Ardfert defence for a great point. Ardfert laid seige to the Crotta goals for the next couple of minutes but found man of the match Darragh Kennelly and John Quilter in outstanding form for the home team. They were ably assisted by Jeaic McKenna, Dylan McElligott and Dominic Nolan. With a minute to go Crotta broke upfield which started with a John Quilter clearence to Sean O'Donoghue. He played it to Barry Mahony who picked out Darragh O'Donoghue and although his initial shot was blocked, he picked out Paudie Dillon who fired an unstoppable shot to the Ardfert net. It was a great performance by the lads after the disappointment of the League final loss and all played their part. Team and scorers: Dominic Nolan Darragh Behan Dylan McElligott John Quilter Jeaic McKenna Darragh Kennelly Paudie Dillon(1-01) Tom Quinlan Colin Browne(0-02) Barry Mahony(0-07) Cathal Kennelly (0-01)Sean O'Donoghue Aaron Murnane Brandon Conway Donal Hunt(1-00). Subs Darragh O'Donoghue(1-00) for Aaron Murnane, Darragh Stack for Donal Hunt
Vote of Sympathy The Crotta Coiste na nOg Club would like to offer sincere sympathy to the Galvin Family, Crotta on the death of Madge Galvin RIP. We especially think of Diarmuid who introduced a lot of underage players to hurling down through the years. May she rest in peace.

ETAPE DU TOUR 2011
Best of luck to Brendan Mahony, Ballyrehan, Lixnaw who will participate in Etape du Tour 2011, which is the world's most prestigious mass participation cycling event. It attracts close to 10,000 cyclists to the start-line each year, all looking to complete the entire route of a mountain stage of the current Tour de France. It is cycling's equivalent of the New York Marathon. The organizers of the event ensure the roads will be closed to vehicular traffic as well as providing strategically placed food and rest stations. There is also mechanical support along the route provided by Mavic. This ensures that everyone has a great time participating in L'Etape. The Etape gives amateur cyclists a chance to ride a full stage of the Tour de France, often the hardest stage of the race, to see how they compare to the pros. The Tour will be on Monday 11 July and is a relatively short 109km between Modane Valfréjus and Alpe d’Huez, the same as the 19th stage of the Tour. Its length belies is toughness, however, as riders will tackle the fearsome Col du Telegraphe and Col du Galibier, before descending for 46km and meeting the final challenge: the 12km ascent of Alpe d'Huez.
Brendan was among the 5,000 cyclists plus who participate in Annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle of 112 miles which took place last Saturday 2nd July.
