SEAN TO PLAY IN CROKE PARK
Good luck to Sean Mc Elligott, Gorthcloghy, Kilflynn. who is selected to play in Croke Park during the half time interval at the All Ireland hurling semi final between Galway and Clare on Saturday 28th July. He was selected from his performances with St.Treasa's National School Hurling team, in the Cumann na mBunscoil competitions. Sean plays his Hurling for Crotta and his football with St. Senan’s

WEDDING BELLS
Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Triona daughter of Kathleen and Neilly O’Connell, Crotta, Kilflynn and Mick, son of Betty and Pat Twomey, Inchamore, Ballingeary, Cork who were married in St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn, on Friday 20th July.
Fr Denis O’Mahony officiated at the beautiful ceremony. The Bestman was Finbarr Twomey and grooms man was Diarmuid Twomey. The Bridesmaids were: Maria Cunningham and Una O’Connell
The flower girl was: Maebh Twomey and the Pageboys were Riain Twomey, Eoghan Cunningham and Joe O’Sullivan . A large crowd of family and friends attended the wedding ceremony and afterwards the wedding reception, which was held in The Rose Hotel, Tralee. A great day and night, was had by all in attendance. We wish Triona and Mick many happy years of married life together.

Active Retired Group 
An outing for the Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Active Retired  group to Bunratty, Co. Clare will take place on Wednesday 25th July. The coach will leave the Community Centre at 10.00 a.m. sharp. Transport can be arranged for anyone requiring it. Please contact  066 7135831 for further details.  

CAUSEWAY CAMOGIE CLUB
Calling all 11,12 & 13 year old girls to come to Causeway sports field on Monday & Thursday evenings from 6 to 7pm. Give camogie a try for the next few weeks and see what you think.  Its a great way to make new friends & have some fun. Helmet & hurley will be provided if needed

KILFLYNN FAIRY FESTIVAL 
On behalf of the Fairies Wizards and Elves, the Kilflynn Enchanted Fairy Festival committee wish to thank all the supporters and volunteers most sincerely for their help in the 2018 Enchanted Fairy Festival.
The effort that they made and the help that they gave contributed to making the Festival a tremendous success again this year. It was a magical weekend for children and adults from near and far!
Kilflynn and the surrounding community can be very proud of itself for coming together both in the preparation work and the weekend itself, they showed true community spirit! 
We are very much looking forward to the Fairy Festival and your continued support will be greatly appreciated.

EDDIE HAYES U-13 GROUND HURLING TOURNAMENT
The Annual Eddie Hayes Memorial Ground U-13 Hurling Tournament 10 A Side was held at a sun drenched sportsfield in Dromakee, Kilflynn on Saturday 14th July. 8 teams participated, Lixnaw, Crotta , Abbeydorney, Kenmare, Ballyheigue, Ballyduff, St.Brendans Ardfert and Causeway.
Ballyduff retained the Eddie Hayes Memorial U-13 Ground Hurling Tournament title for 5th time in a row with a 2-03 to 1-05 victory over a gallant St. Brendan's side, Mundy Hayes ( Sponsor) presented the Eddie Hayes Memorial Cup to victorious Ballyduff captain Ray McGrath who also received the player of the tournament award with Abbeydorney winning the Shield title with a victory over a gallant Causeway side in the final on a 3-00 to 2-02 score line. Abbeydorney victorious captain Damien Hogan received the Shield from Munday Hayes. Congrats to everyone Involved in the fantastic organised tournament

Kerry commence their All-Ireland Campaign with a Home Win when they welcomed Clare to Abbeydorney on Saturday evening 14th July in the first round of the Liberty Ireland All-Ireland Premier Camogie Championship on the full time of  Kerry 2-11 Clare 0-6 Well Done to the Kerry Comogie team, especially the Crotta Players  Aoife Behan Midfield (0-1),Jackie Horgan Captain Full forward 1-01 and Megan Weir who scored a peach of a goal   coming off the bench as a substitute
Kerry will face Limerick at Tom Healy Park in Abbeydorney on Saturday, 21 July at 5pm in the second round of the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie Championship. Referee will be Conor Quinlan

TAEKWON DO 
On Sunday morning last. 15th Juky at the invitation of master Mike Murphy, Kilflynn  School of Taekwon_do .two other masters attended a training session .they were master William owers & master Adrian o mahoney.after a couple of hours of hard training .all three left st columbus centre, Kilflynn  tired and happy to have trained together.

CROTTA LEISURE CYCLISTS
Congratulations to the 30 plus members of our local cycling who took part in
the Annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle of 112 miles recently. On a beautiful sunny day  with a nicer cooling breeze everyone had a
thoroughly enjoyable day.  There is a  tremendous sense of
achievement on having completed the 112 miles especially for the four members who
were doing it the first time. It is estimated that up to 7,000 cyclists
took part in total which makes it the biggest charity cycle in the country.
It is a wonderfully organised and stewarded event with over 1,100 volunteers
on duty during the day. 
The group would like to express their thanks to Mike and Geraldine Parker
for hosting their post cycle BBQ and celebrations.

Kilflynn School Benefits From Lee Strand Cash 4 Schools
LEE Strand has visited Scoil Treasa Naofa, Kilflynn to present a cheque of €500 in the Cash 4 Schools Draw.
Speaking at the presentation Ide Brosnan, Principal stated; “We want to say a huge thanks to Lee Strand. We are absolutely delighted to have received this cheque for €500. The pupils were really excited to meet Mighty Mikey Milk.  Staff, parents, pupils, friends of the school and the community of Kilflynn, have all worked together to ensure that as many tokens as possible were collected. A special thanks to Rose Browne, who dropped in our tokens to Lee Strand. The money will be used to replenish Aistear resources in the junior classes.”

U-10 HURLING BLITZ 
The Crotta Hurling Club can be very proud of their U10 hurlers. The group took part in the North Blitz held in Beautiful sunshine in Ardfert on Saturday  morning 7th July. We had three games. Crotta  had a win over Abbeydorney , a 1 point defeat to Ballyheigue and Ballyduff won well in the final game. Well done to all players, parents and mentors. Thanks to the North Kerry board and host Ardfert.

RING OF KERRY CYCLE
Crotta Leisure Cyclists will have up to 40 cyclists from the locality taking part in the Annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle of 112 miles on next Saturday July 7th . This is the biggest charity cycle in the country with 9,500 cyclists taking part. The local cyclists have been in serious training over the past few months and have been seen on various roads all around North Kerry. Whilst there are a lot of seasoned campaigners taking part there are quite a few newcomers from the area who will be attempting this arduous cycle for the first time and we wish them all the best of luck.
They are collecting for a number of very worthy charities, so if you know a cyclist who is cycling the Ring of Kerry please sponsor them.
They will have a post-race celebration in Parkers bar on Saturday night.

20 percent of the cost of running Crotta Coiste na nOg was raised on Sunday 1st July at the Kilflynn Fairy Festival and the club would like to thank our members for helping us achieve this.

Crotta Senior played Current County Champions Ballyduff in the Garveys Supervalu Senior Championship 2nd round game at Austin Stacks Park, Tralee on Saturday 30th June. And were defeated on the scoreline of Ballyduff 2-13 to Crotta O’Neills 0-16. Crotta led at the interval break by 0-11 to 2-04
Crotta did put Ballyduff to the pin of their collar in game and will have to regroup again for the next game against Kilmoyley.
