The concept of the draw is simple, simply place your €2 into the envelope at the venue, write your name and phone on the envelope and you could possibly ‘split the bucket!’

Wayne Murphy (Right) who passed his 2nd degree and Eoin ó Connor who passed his 1st degree black belt at a Taekwon-do testing which took place in st Columbus centre in kilflynn on Sunday morning 28th July, a total of 9 students tested under Master Mike Murphy 7th degree all students passed.

DAN PADDY ANDY FESTIVAL
Roads in the Stacks Mountains, and specifically in Lyreacrompane, will re-echo to the sound of running feet over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.  Sunday morning, August 4, will see crowds gather at the Dan Paddy Andy Festival Marquee for the Annual 5K/10K – Run/Walk.  In the 5K route the runners/walkers will take in the Mass Path and a section of woodland path.  The 10K will take the runners in a circular route through Lyreacrompane. This year the proceeds from the event go to the renovation fund for the conversion of the old Glen Schoolhouse into the Stacks Mountains Heritage House.  Registration is from 10am on the day with the participants on their way at 11am. It is also possible to register for the Dan Paddy Andy Festival Walk/Run on www.eventbrite.com

EDDIE HAYES MEMORIAL GROUND U-13 HURLING TOURNAMENT
The Draw for this year’s U13 Eddie Hayes Memorial Ground Hurling Tournament will take place this Wednesday evening at 9pm. Both the Eddie Hayes Cup and Shield draws will be done live via Crotta Facebook. This year there are 9 team participating. This unique competition now spans almost two decades and never fail to excite in both skill and entertainment. Why not come along to the sportsfield, 
Dromakee, Kilflynn on this Saturday 13th July and witness first hand the fantastic art of ground hurling while also show your support to the young hurlers. The tournament gets under way at 10am.

The Cemetery Mass will be celebrated for the departed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kilflynn on Wednesday, 3rd July at 8.00 pm. Please notify friends and relatives of those buried in the Cemetery.

RING OF KERRY CYCLE
Crotta Leisure Cyclists will have up to 30 cyclists from the locality taking part in the Annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle of 112 miles on next Saturday 6th July. This is the biggest charity cycle in the country. The local cyclists have been in serious training over the past few months and have been seen on various roads all around North Kerry. Whilst there are a lot of seasoned campaigners taking part there are quite a few newcomers from the area who will be attempting this arduous cycle for the first time and we wish them all the best of luck.
They are collecting for a number of very worthy charities, so if you know a cyclist who is cycling the Ring of Kerry please sponsor them.
They will have a post-race celebration in Parkers bar on Saturday night.

KILFLYNN ENCHANTED FAIRY FESTIVAL
As fairy dust has settled, and the last of the fairies have bid their farewell, things are slowly getting back to normal in Kilflynn. KERRY MINOR HURLERS
Congratulations and well done to the Kerry u17 Hurlers on a fantastic win in the Celtic Challenge Div 2 final at the Bórd na Móna O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday, 29th June
Down 9 points at one stage a goal just before half time reduced the margin to 6. The team showed great heart to battle back and finished up winning by 7 points. 
Final score Kerry 5-16 to Dublin Clarke's 3-15. The Crotta Hurling club was well represented on the victorious side by Adhon Behan (Centreback) and Sean McGrath (Sub) also to Jerome O'Sullivan who is a selector. Well done lads. All Ireland Champions. Also Congratulations to Crotta Hurler Cormac White and his Leitrim U17 Hurlers who won the Corn Tom Hogan in the Celtic Challenge Finals in Tullamore when they defeated Longford by 3-21 v 1-05 on Saturday 29th June.

Campa Ógras Bhaile Uí Thaidhg agus Trá Lí
Ógras Summer Camps will take place at Cumann Iosaef in Tralee from 15 to 19 July and at Ballyheigue Community Centre from 29 July to 2 August. This will give children aged 7 to 12 an opportunity to practise their Irish through sport, games, art and music and will also include a trip to the Gaeltacht. CROTTA GAA
Crotta Senior hurlers had a victory over Ballyheigue in the County Senior hurling League Div 1  on the score of  Crotta O'Neills 3.18 Ballyheigue 2.12 played at the John Joe O'Sullivan Park. Crotta held a halftime lead of 1-9 to 1-6 
With that win Crotta have advanced to the Semi Final of the Co. League for the 1st time since 2010 when the club last won the competition.
In the semi final they will play St. Brendans with time and venue TBC. The winner will play Causeway in the final.Well Done to the lads
Crotta Minor hurlers travelled to Ardfert on Sunday morning 29th June and drew with home side on the score St.Brendan’s Ardfert 0-14 to Crotta 1-11 in the County Minor Hurling League Div 1.

The winners of the doubles darts competition in Parker's Snug Bar, Kilflynn on Saturday 29nd June were Darragh Mullivhill and J.P Twomey who defeated  Paddy Weir and Maurice McElligott in the final. The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday 6th July at 10.30p.m in Parker's Lounge  Bar. The winners will receive a leg of lamb each. All names in for 10.20p.m
