Crotta U15 team played Causeway in Dromakee last Thursday evening in the North Kerry U15 Championship. This was a great performance by the lads and having led by 0-06 to 0-04 at half time,at one stage they found themselves four points in arrears. The showed great determination in the last fifteen mins to record a win on a scoreline of Crotta 2-10 Causeway 1-11. Crotta's scores in the first half came from the accuracy of Raymond Nolan(0-05) from frees and a great point from play by Adam O'Sullivan. Causeway upped their game in the second half and raced into a four point lead. Crotta scored two points through Raymond Nolan and a long range Brandon Conway point. Causeway replied from two placed balls to again open a four point gap. A fantastic goal from the boot of Colin Browne in the 45th minute, following some great work by Dominic Nolan who had replaced Niall O'Sullivan, put the minimum between the teams. Dominic Nolan levelled matters with a lovely turn and point from play with five mins remaining. It was all Crotta at this stage and when Adam O'Sullivan found Jordan Conway twenty yards out he made no mistake to put Crotta three points ahead. ST.SENANS GAA
Both A and B U-12 teams put in huge performances in our final North Kerry League fixture which was played away against Ballyduff. The whole panel was utilised as both teams were missing numerous players on the night.
The A team got back to winning ways and cast aside the Listowel result with some fine football. Aodhan McKenna was solid in Goals whilst Timmy Dillon and Eamon Rohan mopped up everything in defence. Ryan Murphy had a fine game at wing back and was a clear man of the match winner. Ciaran Healy alongside him also had a strong game. James Canty and Cillian Trant dominated the midfield exchanges ensuring a good supply of ball to the forwards and a few points. Daniel O'Rourke was industrious throughout chipping in with some quality scores finishing with 1-8 (1-7 from play), with Denis Quille also in the half forward line equally scoring some fine points and a stand out second half goal. Damien Larkin also got on the scoresheet with a good goal and it was nice to see Brian Logue getting a deserved point after working hard all game. The A team won on a scoreline of 5-26 to 1-2
The B team saved their best football until last and what a performance. All players contributed to a workmanlike and determined effort that not only helped maintain their 100% record in all competitions this year but also secured the North Kerry League for the team a great result. From the start of the game every player was tigerish in the tackle and first to the ball again and again. The midfield fought for every ball with nothing easy being given by Ballyduff every ball was hard won. In the first half scores were at a premium but Senans kept in front and kept trying to get that bit of daylight between the teams. Eventually the persistence paid off and with the scoring of 2 goals in quick succession the team was on the home straight for victory. With some more fine scores before the end and no way through in the backs The team held out to win and ensure that all competitions entered were secured. A great achievement for a truly committed bunch of players.
With hardly anything separating the A and B teams this year the future is bright as every player is pushing another for places a good position to be in. Thanks to all parents and players for their continued support.

CROTTA U12 HURLERS CROWNED COUNTY DIV 1 CHAMPIONS
Congratulations and well done to our U12 Team who won the County League Division 1 Title for the first time ever, on Tuesday 10th July. Crotta had previously fallen at the final hurdle three times in the last number of years so it was great to eventually have success in this competition.
Last Tuesday evenings match was the final game in the League. Crotta topped the table going into the match and needed a win to win the Competition outright. A gallant Dr Crokes side were their opponents in the Sportsfield Dromakee, Kilflynn and Crokes got off to the perfect start with a goal and a point inside ten mins. Crokes were applying all the pressure but James Sheehan was having a great game at wing back and cleared ball after ball. Darragh O'Donoghue thundered into the game at midfield for Crotta and fired over three points into the wind. Ryan McElligott then tied the scores just before half time with a great point following a nice passage of play which started with a long clearance from Aodhan McKenna.
Crotta had the breeze at their backs in the second half and set about their task from the restart. The lively Sean Murnane fired over a point and shortly after scored a goal to put Crotta four points to the good. Darragh O'Donoghue pointed a 65 and Darragh Murnane scored Crotta's second goal to leave the score Crotta 2-06 Crokes 1-01. Any thoughts Crotta had of an easy victory were dispelled with a Crokes goal following an error by the Crotta defence. After this Crokes gained the upper hand and only some stout defending by Declan O'Donoghue, Aodhan McKenna, James Sheehan and Goal keeper Cillian Trant kept them at bay. That goal was Crokes last score as Eamonn Rohan came more and more into the match now and he scored a goal and a point to make the game safe. Another point from play, and a 65 from Darragh O'Donoghue concluded the scoring.
Final Score Crotta 3-09 Dr Crokes 2-01.
Panel: Cillian Trant, Declan O'Donoghue, Aodhan McKenna, James Sheehan, Eamonn Rohan (1-01), Darragh O'Donoghue (0-06), Daniel O'Rourke, Sean Murnane (1-01), Ryan McElligott (0-01), Darragh Murnane(1-00), Tomas Dillon, Sean Keane, Michael Kennedy, Timmy Dillon, Aodhn Behan, Tadhg McKenna, Denis Nolan, Eoin Relihan, Pairic Shanahan, Daniel Hunt, Jack Kevin McKenna, David O'Connell, Denis Quille and Eoin Galvin.
Crotta played five matches in Division 1. They started with a home match against Causeway winning 3-03 to 1-06 in a tight match. Darragh Murnane Aodhan Behan and Ryan McElligott getting the goals. Ballyduff were next and this was the Sean Murnane show as he scored five goals in a 6-03 to 1-05 victory. Winners of phase 1, Abbeydorney were next. Played in Dromakee this was the match of the League. Crotta trailed by eight points at half time but all players contributed to a fantastic win on a scoreline of Crotta 3-11 Abbeydorney 2-09. Ryan Murphy scored 2-02 and Tomas Dillon scored the other goal. Some long range points by Darragh O'Donoghue and a man of the match performance by James Sheehan plus a couple of fantastic first half saves by Cillian Trant all paved the way to a Crotta victory. Crotta 's defence also played their part and Daniel O'Rourke's work rate unsettled a fine Abbeydorney team. A difficult trip to Ballyheighue was game four in the League. Leading by six points at half time following first half goals by Darragh Murnane and Ryan McElligott, Ballyheighue prove to be tough opponents. The home side had the advantage of a strong wind in the second half. Even though Crotta got two second half goals through Daniel O'Rourke and Sean Murnane, we only lead by a point with five mins remaining. Man of the match Darragh O'Donoghue scored four points in this time to leave the final score Crotta 4-06 Ballyheighue 3-05.
Well done to all players who trained so well and have improved so much.

HERBERT’S BAR
Live music next Sunday evening 22nd of July with the G TEAM

NORTH KERRY U-12 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
There were mixed fortunes for the A and B teams against Listowel on Sunday 15th July.
The A team suffered a heavy defeat in a disappointing performance on the night. The margin was unfair on the lads who have put in a huge effort this year and played some great football. The loss of some Key players before the game did not help however on the night they came up against a very good Listowel team who were faster, stronger and first to the ball throughout. The damage was done too early in the match which left a huge mountain to climb in rescuing a result. Great credit must go to the team in the second half for battling and improving on their first half showing. Damien Larkin, Ryan Murphy, Daniel O'Rourke and Pairic Shanahan in Particular played their hearts out in the second half. On the evening it was a case that one team was at their best and the other team looked a very tired outfit. With Senans already having secured the County football League, and most of the A panel also doing the Double with the Hurling this game came probably a little too late in the year for the type of performance required to win.
The B's put up a wonderful performance winning out in a tight game and ensuring that at least one of our teams came away with a win on the night. They were also missing players but managed to ride out the storm particularly in a tense first half. In a tight game throughout all players played their hearts out and stuck to the task in hand playing some great football. In an end to end match played at a fast pace Senans remained composed to deliver the win and ensure in the process that their 100% record remains intact. This is a remarkable record this season and great credit must go to each and every player who has shown the effort and commitment throughout the year. Thanks to all parents for their support on the evening. Next up is the Munster Blitz in Fitzgerald stadium on Tue before our next North Kerry League match against Ballyduff on Wednesday.

CROTTA COISTE NA NOG NEWS
Crotta Hurlers took part in the U12 Blitz in Abbeydorney on Saturday 7th July. They played three matches winning one losing one and drawing the other. Missing a number of the first team and at one stage having only 7 Players, this was a great achievement and all players deserve great credit. They drew with Abbeydorney in the first match having trailed by four points at half time. Sean Murnane getting an all important goal and point in the second half. The eventual winners Causeway were up next and again having trailed by two points at halftime, the lads showed great commitment to turn things around. Sean Keane who was playing his first match for Crotta scored a cracking goal to level matters. Causeway however scored late on to win by a point. Ballyheigue were our opponents in the final match. Ballyheigue were under strength on the day and Crotta had a comfortable win. A lot of positives from the day. It was great to see Sean Keane eventually make his debut and the performance of Jack Kevin McKenna in goals in the last match. Some of the younger players played exceptionally well. Daniel O'Rourke has been the most improved player at this grade and played very well in each match. All players played their part though and at present this Group of players top U12 County League Division 1 with one game left to play. Last Saturdays panel of Players were as follows: Cillian Trant, Aodhan McKenna, Sean Murnane, Jack Kevin McKenna, Tadhg McKenna, Darragh Murnane, Sean Keane, Darragh O'Donoghue, Daniel O'Rourke, Ryan McElligott, Declan O'Donoghue and Tomas Dillon. Thanks to the Abbeydorney GAA Club for hosting the event and the Causeway GAA Club for providing food and refreshments.
U15s Crotta U15's started their North Kerry Championship campaign with a two point victory over Lixnaw. NORTH KERRY U-12 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
St Senans U12's claimed maximum points in their opening fixture of the North Kerry League with both A and B teams recording comfortable wins over Brosna.
Both games were halted after the throw in due to torrential rain but thankfully resumed after 10 minutes.
The A team used this break to set themselves up for the remainder of the match which was played in terrible conditions but at a frantic pace. Some of the football on show made a mockery of the weather with great passages of play resulting in some fine scores. Senans went behind after an early Brosna goal but once getting level after a goal of their own never looked back. They ran out winners by 12 pts on a scoreline of 6-9 to 3-6 in a very controlled and assured performance.
The B team also had a comfortable and deserved win even taking into account that Brosna were missing a couple of players on the night. Every player gave their all and put in massive effort in the rain to triumph on a scoreline of 5-12 to 1-6
Next up for both teams is Listowel away. Needless to say the Panel needs to be at its best to have any chance of taking points from this fixture. Let's get the support out for this match in what surely will be a huge game for both teams!
