PARISH MISSION
 John Pridmore ex-gangster and bestselling author of book ‘From Gangland to Promised Land’ will be giving a Mission in Kilflynn  from Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th April and in Abbeydorney from Thursday 12th to Saturday 14th April.

CROTTA U-10 AND U-12 HURLERS
Super Hurling blitz’s played on Saturday morning 24th March in fantastic sunshine. Our U10 hurlers took part in the blitz held in John Mitchels Gaa Pitch, Tralee with our U12s also taking to the field in their blitz in Ardfert. Some fine Hurling on display. Thanks to all players and parents and we hope all kids enjoyed there outing. Well done also to Giles O Grady and David O Dea for organizing the events. Everything run off smoothly

LIXNAW GOLF SOCIETY
The AGM of the Lixnaw Golf Society was held in The Railway Bar Thursday, 16th of March 2018.
The Secretary and Treasurer reported on a very successful 2017.
The outgoing Captain and President thanked everyone for their help throughout the year and wished incoming Captain Niall Enright and President Ger Griffin all the best for the coming year.
The committee thanked our sponsors of 2017 for their generous support. 
The schedule for 2018 is currently being finalised and will be published shortly.

Crotta and Kerry Hurler Shane Nolan along with Kerry Hurler Colum Harty are hosting their Easter Hurling Camp again this year.. This time it will take place down in Crotta Gaa Sportsfield in Dromakee, Kilflynn. On Tuesday  3rd  to Friday 6th April from 10am – 2pm Age:   6 – 13 yrs (boys and girls)
Cost:      €45 for first child €35 for second and €30 for third. The kids will be in for a great week considering Last year it was a very successful camp where kids from all clubs of North Kerry participated and had great fun while learning new skills from top coaches. Special Guest Appearance during the week
What you need to bring : 
• Packed lunch, hurley, helmet, rain gear, sun cream, water.
• Can pay on the day.
Camp will include:

• Skills challenge
• Qualified Coaches

The winners of the darts in Parker's Lounge Bar , Kilflynn on  Saturday 24th March were Mike Fealy and John Leahy who defeated  Paddy Weir and J.P Twomey  in the Final. The winners  received a leg of lamb each. The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday 31st March at 10.30p.m in Parker's Lounge  Bar. The winners  will receive a leg of lamb each and the runners up will receive a Easter Egg each. All names in for 10.20p.m.

CROTTA SENIORS
County Senior Hurling League Div 1, Round 2 played on Monday 26th March  in the  Institute of Technology, Tralee gaa pitch Crotta 0-10 to Kilmoyley 1-09. Crotta play in round 3 next Monday 2ndApril  in  the Sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn at 6.00 p.m

KERRY CAMOGIE
THE Kerry Camogie Team travelled to Healy Park in Omagh on Sunday 25th March and recorded  a 4-14 to 2-6 victory over Tyrone to extend their unbeaten record in Division 3 of the Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie League.
This sets Kerry up for their final game when they welcome Roscommon to Abbeydorney on Easter Sunday at 2pm.
Should they win against the Rossies they will face Tyrone in the semi-final. However, should Roscommon leave Tom Healy Park with the points, the Kerry girls will face Clare in the semi-final
The Crotta Hurling club had 3 representatives on the Kerry panel with Aoife Behan (0-1) (Centre Forward) Jackie Horgan (Captain) (2-4) (Full Forward) and Megan Weir came on as sub. Well done.

Féile na nGael
Dates for the Kerry Under 14 Féile na nGael competition are Saturday, 28 April and Saturday, 5 May with the Finals on Monday, 7 May. 
It will be divided into 3 Groups as follows: The A Group will comprise of Abbeydorney, Ballyduff, Ballyheigue, Crotta, Lixnaw and Kenmare/Kilgarvan. The B Group will involve the 4 teams from the A Group above who do not reach the Final. The C Group will include Causeway, Kilmoyley, St. Brendan’s, Tralee Parnell’s and South Kerry. 
The National Féile competitions to be hosted by the Connacht G.A.A. on the weekend of 8 – 10 June

KILFLYNN CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
The proceeds of the Christmas Table Quiz have recently been distributed to the local Cancer Charities. Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support Group have each received €1340. Thanks again to everyone who supported the event.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
KILFLYNN is all set for their annual St Patricks Day parade. The Parade and the Fancy Dress Parade will commence at 4.00 p.m. sharp on Saturday 17th March from St Teresa's National School and make its way to the village. All those interested in Participating in the parade please assemble at the School at 3.30 p.m. Any organisations, business or individual wishing to take part in this years parade are very welcome to do so.  Again, this Year there will be a Trophy and 100 Euro for the Best float, 50 euro for 2nd place and 25 euro for 3rd place. There will be a Free kids disco after the parade in St. Columbas Centre, and all Fancy Dress participants will be presented with a medal. Hope to see you all in Kilflynn.

Commiserations to Crotta Hurlers Daniel O'Rourke and Denis Quille, their Tralee CBS Team mates and their mentors who were defeated by P.S. Chorcha Dhuibhne in the  rescheduled Corn Ui Mhuiri Football final on Saturday March 10th in Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney by 2-13 to 1-10.

The benefits of the work done by the development team came to fruition on Saturday 10th March when Crotta hosted an u12 Hurling blitz on our sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn. 3teams participated Kilmoyley, Lixnaw and Crotta
Hugh thanks to all that have put in the hard work and continue to do so behind the scenes in upgrading our facilities.

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS
There was joy for the Kerry hurlers in Mullingar on Sunday 11th March, going down 1-20 to 0-16 to Westmeath in the final round of the Allianz League Div 2A. Westmeath and Carlow contest the final. Kerry are not in action again until Sunday May 6th where they play Carlow away in the in the All Ireland series. The Crotta Hurling Club was represented on the Kerry panel by Sean Weir, Tomás O'Connor, Jordan Conway (0.01) , and Shane Nolan and Barry Mahony were  2 of the 5 subs that came on. Adam O'Sullivan is also a member of the panel.  Joe McDonagh Cup Fixtures This year the Kerry Senior Hurling team will compete in the Tier 2 Senior Inter-County Hurling Competition, in which 6 teams will compete – Meath, Carlow, Kerry, Westmeath, Antrim and Laois.
Kerry fixtures are as follows : 
Saturday, 5th May v Carlow (away); 
Saturday, 12th May v Laois (home); 
Sunday, 20th May v Westmeath (home); Sunday, 3rd June v Meath (away)
Sunday, 10th June v Antrim (away).
The final is fixed for the weekend of 30 June.

Crotta Senior Hurlers will commence their 2018 campaign on Saturday 17th March at 12 noon at the Sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn when the home Side will play Ballyheigue in the 1st round of the County Senior Hurling league Div 1. COMORTAISI CHEANNAIS NA MUMHAN SCOR SINSEAR 2018
Kerry will once again be well represented in competition at this years Munster Finals of Scor Sinsear on this Saturday 10th March at the Community Centre, Cappamore County Limerick where all Scor enthusiasts will be travelling in huge numbers to the County Limerick venue to cheer on their respective Clubs to further glory and hopefully a place in the All Ireland Finals at the end of the days proceedings; which this year will take place in the Knockrea Arena, Sligo I.T. on Saturday 14th April with a starting time of 3pm. Kerry will be represented in all seven catagories and no doubt as on each occasion down through the years will face tough opposition from the remaining Counties; Cork, Clare, Tipperary, Limerick and Waterford before the final results will be known. Competitions will get underway at 6pm sharp. Crotta’s Sonny Egan who took the recent County Scor Finals by storm will be representing The Crotta Hurling Club and The North Kerry Hurling Board in both Solo Singing and Recitation. Best of luck to Sonny and to all the Kerry representatives on Saturday night.
Corn Ui Mhuiri Football Final
 We wish the best of luck to Crotta Hurlers Daniel O'Rourke and Denis Quille, their Tralee CBS Team mates and their mentors who play P.S. Chorcha Dhuibhne in the rescheduled Corn Ui Mhuiri Football final on Saturday March 10th at 1pm in Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney.

EASTER HURLING CAMP
Crotta and Kerry Hurler Shane Nolan along with Kerry Hurler Colum Harty are hosting their Easter Hurling Camp again this year.. This time it will take place down in Crotta Gaa Sportsfield in Dromakee, Kilflynn. On 3rd  to 6th April from 10am - 2pm Age:   6 - 13 yrs (boys and girls)
Cost:      €45 for first child €35 for second and €30 for third. The kids will be in for a great week considering Last year it was a very successful camp where kids from all clubs of North Kerry participated and had great fun while learning new skills from top coaches. Special Guest Appearance during the week
What you need to bring : 
• Packed lunch, hurley, helmet, rain gear, sun cream, water.
• Can pay on the day.

PARISH MISSION
 John Pridmore ex-gangster and bestselling author of book ‘From Gangland to Promised Land’ will be giving a Mission in Kilflynn  from Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th April and in Abbeydorney from Thursday 12th to Saturday 14th April. He will speak at the Masses the weekend just before the Mission. Each night has a different theme with talks, prayer, music and a lot more. We really encourage you to come to all three nights to get the most out of the Mission.

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS
Joe McDonagh Cup Fixtures This year the Kerry Senior Hurling team will compete in the Tier 2 Senior Inter-County Hurling Competition, in which 6 teams will compete – Meath, Carlow, Kerry, Westmeath, Antrim and Laois.
Kerry fixtures are as follows : 
Saturday, 5th May v Carlow (away); 
Saturday, 12th May v Laois (home); 
Sunday, 20th May v Westmeath (home); Sunday, 3rd June v Meath (away)
Sunday, 10th June v Antrim (away).
The final is fixed for the weekend of 30 June.
The Kerry Senior hurlers are away this Sunday to Westmeath in the Allianz Hurling League Division 2A . Best of luck the Kerry Hurlers especially the Crotta players on Sunday.

CROTTA UNDER AGE TRAINING
U6/8/10 training will commence this Saturday 10th March 4-5pm in the Sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn. The training will continue every Sunday 11am to 12. Open to all kids and we welcome new players. Any questions contact Noel 087 7920405

MUNSTER 1ST YEAR HURLING BLITZ WINNERS
Causeway Comprehensive School 1st year hurlers won the Munster 1st year schools blitz on Tuesday 27th February, winning all their games. In the first game of the day they defeated Cresent College Limerick on a scoreline of 2-06 to no score. In the second game they beat Ennistymon 2-08 to 1-02. And finally in the last game they beat Pallaskenry 1-09 to 0-01. The Crotta Hurling Club was represented on the victories team by Rory Mahony Congrats and well done to Rory and his team mates on their recent.
