BOOK LAUNCH
Fr. Mossie Brick will launch “ They Passed Along Our Road” by Gerald Byrne at St Columbus centre, Kilflynn, on Friday 4th April at 8.00p.m. All welcome . Entertainment and refreshments will be provided on the night.

SCÓR NA bPÁISTÍ
On Friday night 21st March O'Neills Crotta participated in the North Kerry Hurling Scor na bpáistí competition in Causeway Comprehensive School . Many thanks to all the children who took part. The figure dancing was presented by, Nicole O'Connor, Amy Louise O'Sullivan, Ciara Rohan, Aoife Bowler, Tadhg McKenna, Killian Baker, Denis Nolan and Darragh Breen while this group did not win on the night they performed very well and we in the club are very grateful to them for participating. A big thank you to their coach Marie O'Connell assisted by Mary McCarthy for their time
in preparing the group.
The instrumental music group were successful in going on to the next round, the group members are Amy O'Sullivan, Nicole O'Conor, Rory Mahony, Michael Shanahan and Cillian Trant. We wish them well for next Friday evening in the county semi final in Castleisland.

St PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
There was a good cross-section of groups and organisations participating in the Kilflynn St Patrick's Day Parade 2014 from St Theresa's National School led by This years grand Marshall local business man John Brennan, in Bosco Mahon's donkey and cart followed by St Patrick (Jerry Caromdy) where an estimated 700 people lined the route cheering and applauding the participants as they passed by in a colourful pageant of music, drama, comedy and song.
The Parade and Fancy Dress Parade which was held in ideal weather conditions, made its way to the reviewing stand in the centre of the village where local dignitaries Fr. Denis O’ Mahoney (Abbeydorney P.P), Dick McElligott (Crotta Hurling Club), Pat Herbert (Kilflynn Coursing Club) Tom Mc Elligott (Kilflynn Development Area Association), Mary Geraldine Finucane (Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Care Group) Mary O’Carroll (St. Teresa's National School) and John Brennan (Grand Marshall Kilflynn Vintage Club) were casting their eyes over the groups who participated. MC Michael Neenan delivered a witty running commentary on the participants, some of these were seen to breathe a sigh of relief when they weren't the target of the jovial Kilflynn St. Patrick’s Day Parade Chairman.
The parade continued down to the bridge before returning to St. Columbas Centre, for the judging and presentation of prizes in the Fancy dress competitions. The children from St. Teresa's National School provided Irish Traditional music on the stage.

Around 60 children participated in this year's Kilflynn St. Patrick's Day, Fancy dress competition, on Monday 17th March with judging taking part after the parade in St Columbas Centre, Kilflynn under the watchful of our two judges Joanne Regan and Una O’Connell who do a wonderful job. thanks to Maria O’Connell and her helpers Kathleen, Una, and Triona O’Conell who did Trojan work in organizing the competition and the excellent judges, And special thanks to all those who help out in the It was much appreciated. TABLE QUIZ
St. Teresa's National School Kilflynn Annual Fun Table Quiz was held on Friday night 21st March in Herbert's Bar & Parker's Bar Kilflynn. The quizmasters for the evening was Mr. John Rohan and Mrs Fiona Clarke. The overall winners were Tim O’Rourke, Kerry Wellsbury, Mike and Michelle McKenna. Congratulations to the winning team. Herbert’s Bar Winners: John O’Flaherty, John Howard, John Condon and T.J O’Sullivan. 2nd prizes went to Aine McCarthy, John Cronin, Dan McCarthy and Paddy Weir. TODD NOLAN MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
The Cork Minor hurlers captured the Todd Nolan Tournament Cup with a very impressive display in Abbeydorney on Saturday afternoon 22nd March, defeating the Kerry Minor Hurlers in the final by 1-09 to 0-04. The Crotta hurling club was represented by Adrian Mahony, Jordan Conway and Tom McElligott (The village) on the Kerry team In early games Cork beat Tipperary and Kerry had a victory over Tipperary by 2-11 to 0-07.

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

CAMOGIE
Well done to Megan Weir, Kilflynn and her Kerry Senior camogie team mates who had a 3-06 to 0-05 victory over Tyrone in the Irish daily national league div 4 in Banagher Co.Offaly on Sunday 23rd March. Kerry led by 1-03 to 0-05 at half time. Megan played at wingback on the victories team and Kerry have won the last four games in the league. Well done girls and to management.

Tim O’Halloran and Mike Conway defeated Mike Fealy and Danny Caffrey in the weekly dart doubles final in Parker’s lounge Bar, Kilflynn on Saturday night 22nd March.
The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday night 29th March at 10.30 p.m. in Parkers lounge Bar. Kevin Orpen defeated Paud Twomey in the Single dart tournament on Wednesday night 19th March. The beaten semi finalist were Tony Cunninghan and Kelly O’Regan who had a 154 checkout on the night. And The Single Darts Tournament will continue every Wednesday night. KERRY HURLERS
Kerry Senior hurlers gave some of their regulars a rest for the final game of the Allianz League in Ruislip on Sunday 23rd March but having played second fiddle to their hosts and trailing by 1-10 to 0-8 at the interval, Kerry Manager Eamonn Kelly called up some of his experienced players and this helped Kerry recover form a 7 point deficit to fashion a two points win. Kerry 2-17 to London 1-18
London despite playing against the breeze, as stated, dictated the opening half but Kerry kept the scoreboard damage to 5 points at the break before introducing the likes of Shane Nolan, Mikey Boyle, Daniel Collins and John Egan. A goal from Shane Nolan brought Kerry back into the game with a fighting chance and another goal from Mikey Boyle ensured Kerry finished the League stages unbeaten.
Kerry will now play Carlow in the Division 2A final at a venue to be decided on Saturday April 5th. The Crotta hurling club was represented Shane Nolan who came on and scored 1-03 and Sean Weir was a sub.

AEROBICS CLASSES
Aerobics classes have now been set up in St. Columbus Centre, Kilflynn 1 hour exercise class including gentle warm up, gentle aerobics and body toning, fortnightly blood pressure, resting heart rate and weight measurements, Full health evaluation recording and monitoring, nutritional and weight loss advice. Darts legend John Lowe will be stepping up to the oche in Parker’s Lounge Bar, on Saturday 26th April. Lowe is quite simply one of the biggest names in World Darts. 3 times World Champion, 2 times World Masters Champion, World Champion in 3 separate decades, the 70's, 80's and 90's, he was the first player to achieve the magical 9 darter live on TV in 1984.

Before the start of the competition one minute's silence was observed in memory of the late Christy Kelly. Knocknacaska, Kilflynn, and Joseph Morrissey Place, Castlemartyr. who was a Dart enthusiast. Christy was a regular at the weekly darts tournament in Parker’s. Deepest sympathies to the family and friends of a true gentleman.

KERRY HURLERS
Kerry secured a place in the Div 2A Allianz League Div 2A Final with a 3-14 to 0-17 victory over fellow leaders at the start of the Day, Carlow, at Tralee’s Austin Stack Park on Sunday 16th March. Well done to Crotta hurlers Sean Weir at wing back and Shane Nolan who scored 0-05 ,at wing Forward. Kerry play London in their final game in Ruislip on Sunday 23rd March while Carlow are at home to Westmeath in their final game where a win for the homeside would see a Kerry v Carlow final.

Well done to Crotta hurlers Sean Weir at wing back and Shane Nolan who scored 0-7 (3fs, 1 '65'),at Corner Forward. and their Kerry Senior Hurlers who defeated Westmeath by 3-13 to 2-15 in the Allianz League Div 2A round 3 in Mullingar on Sunday 9th March.
Kerry are home to Carlow on Sunday 16th March in Austin Stack Park.

Shane Nolan defeated Michael McCarthy in the Single dart tournament on Wednesday night 19th February. And in the Single dart tournament, Anthony O’Connor defeated Ryan Delaney on Wednesday night 5th March. The Single Darts Tournament will continue every Wednesday night.

The Kilflynn St Patricks Day parade, and Fancy Dress Parade will commence at 4.00 p.m. sharp on Monday 17th March from St Teresa’s National School and Judging and presentation of prizes in the Fancy dress competitions at St. Columbas Centre after the parade. . The next meeting of The Kilflynn Parade will be held Friday night, 7th March at 9.15 p.m. in St. Columbas Centre, Kilflynn. All Musicians, Organisations, Clubs and all interested in helping out and taking part on the day are requested to attend this meeting. The Abbeydorney/Crotta Minor hurlers had a good win over Kilmoyley on Friday evening 28th February in the North Kerry Minor Hurling League Rd 1 in Tom Healy Memorial Park under lights, it was a good start for the team and their management of Dermot Ryan, Mike Leahy, Martin Conway and Dan O'Leary.

Lowe is quite simply one of the biggest names in World Darts. 3 times World Champion, 2 times World Masters Champion, World Champion in 3 separate decades, the 70's, 80's and 90's, he was the first player to achieve the magical 9 darter live on TV in 1984 and was the unbeaten captain of the England Darts team for 7 years, the man is quite simply a legend.

First game of the Tournament must start at 10.30p.m. Sharp. Strictly over 18s. Keith Silles defeated Christy Kelly in the Single dart tournament on Wednesday night 19th February. And in the Single dart tournament, Anthony O’Connor defeated Ryan Delaney on last Wednesday night 26th February The Single Darts Tournament will continue every Wednesday night.

TABLE QUIZ IN AID OF LUPUS
The Galvin Family, Ballinclogher, Lixnaw are holding a Pub Quiz in aid of Lupus Group (LGI) Ireland in JJ Walsh's Bar, The Village, Lixnaw on Friday night March 7th at 8pm. The aim of the quiz night is to raise much needed funds for Lupus Group Ireland and create awareness in Kerry about this auto-immune condition. Organiser of the Quiz, Kathleen Galvin, lost her nephew Conor Smyth (Co. Meath) to the illness in 2001, he was aged just 13 years old and she has since wanted to do something to raise funds for the cause. Kathleen's son Paul, well known former Kerry Football star, has also recently raised EURO 1,000 for LGI by dying his hair a "Nifty Shade of Grey"! Organisers are hoping all who are interested in participating in the quiz arrive early and avail of seating, as tables are on a first come, first served basis! The entry fee is EURO 10.00 per person and people are also more than welcome to enter the quiz on an individual basis while enjoying a pint at the bar! Two representatives from Lupus Group Ireland will also be in attendance to answer any questions and talk to any Lupus suffers about their experiences. There will be plenty of spot prizes on the night, which have been very generously donated by various businesses in the North Kerry and Tralee area. There will also be a fantastic draw for a signed Kerry football jersey and two tickets for either this year's All Ireland Hurling OR Football Final. So everyone is more than welcome to come along and join in the fun while supporting a great cause for Lupus Group Ireland.

FASHION SHOW
Sliabh A'Mhadra National School Parents Association are holding a Fashion Show Fundraiser on Friday March 7th 2014.
The show takes place at The Carlton Hotel Tralee commencing with a drinks reception at 19:30. The show is produced by Norma o donoghue model agency and the MC is Alan Finn of Radio Kerry
The show features collections from top boutiques, designers and milliners.

LIXNAW GOLF SOCIETY
The local golf society held their AGM at The Railway Bar last Tuesday night.Tom Lynch welcomed the incoming Captain Gerry Fuller and wished him well for the coming year.Gerry has been a constant supporter of the Society down through the years and hopefully he'll enjoy his year as Captain.The out going President Eamonn Fitzmaurice wished the incoming Lady President Anne Devaney well in her role for the coming year.The officers for the coming year are as follows,Anne Devaney-Lady President,Gerry Fuller-Captain,Ger Griffin-Vice-Captain,Tom Lynch- Secretary,Roger Hussey and Eddie Enright-Joint Treasurers,Ger Griffin-P.R.O.Tom Lynch thanked everyone for all their help during 2013.The Season tee's off on the 5th of April in Castlegregory Golf Club, committee members will be in touch about Tee Times.
