LEAMORE 5 KILFLYNN SANTOS 5 On Sunday 14th May Kilflynn Santos Senior team played their final game of the Denny league Div 2 A away to Lenamore Rovers. Martin Crespo Daughton scored first for Santos after 5 minutes, and Kilflynn taught they would have a handy win but they didn’t image what happened next as Lenamore came back with all guns blazing and scored 4 goals in the next 15 minutes. Despite being shell shocked Kilflynn battle away and scored a second with a well taken free kick from Brendan Keane making it 4-2, unfortualy Lenamore went up the field from the tip off and scored a fifth goal to make it 5-2. In the last minute of half time Colin Curran finished a lovely move by rounding the keeper to make 5-3 at half time. Kilflynn Santos made changes at half time; by bring out Keeper Mark Mc Nanmara, and putting Matt Lynch into goals. Kilflynn controlled the game at the point and got there reward when Mc Namara connected a corner kick to bring Kilflynn back to within a goal of Lenamore. Kilflynn continued to make all the running and created many chances in goal but failed to convert any of them, with time running out and an equalising goal looking unlikely, a long ball was cleared from the defence and bounced kindly for Gary Hogan to blast to the back of the net. Final Score 5-5. What a come back.
