CUMANN NA MBUNSCOIL
Kilflynn National School played two matches recently in the Cumann na mBunscoil hurling league and emerged victorious in both matches. The first match was played against Killury N.S. Causeway in Mountcoal on Wednesday 5th May. Leading at half time by 2-03 to 0-00 following first half goals from Sean O'Donoghue (2) Aaron Murnane (1) and points from Barry Mahony who scored two and Raymond Nolan one, Killury staged a mini comeback at the start of the second half. A Raymond Nolan goal settled Kilflynn again and a few Barry Mahony points sealed the win. The second match was away to Ballyduff Central. The lads never got hurling in the first half and Ballyduff led by 4-02 to 1-02. Playing the second half against a very strong breeze Kilflynn played their best hurling to date and turned the match completely around. Kilflynn ended up winning by 4 points. Panel and scorers was as follows: Mark Egan, Darragh O'Donoghue (1-00), Raymond Nolan (0-02),Aaron Murnane, Dylan McElligott, Barry Mahony (2-02),Adam O'Sullivan (1-00),Dominic Nolan (2-00),David Ryan, Jack Glavin, Ryan Ward, Eamonn Rohan and Jeaic McKenna.

CROTTA U-12 HURLERS
Crotta U12 team has qualified for the County League Division 1 final following a semi final win over Kenmare/Kilgarvan in Mountcoal on Friday evening 21st May. Although the final score does not reflect the efforts of a well drilled Kenmare/Kilgarvan outfit. Only a superb Brandon Conway save at the beginning of the contest stopped Kenmare/Kilgarvan getting a dream start. Crotta settled themselves and Darragh O'Donoghue goaled from a goal mouth scramble. A pointed free was Kenmare/Kilgarvan opening score and despite a lot of possession they failed to score again till the third minute of the second half. In that time Barry Mahony pointed a free, Colin Browne pointed a great score and a softly conceded goal (by the Kenmare/ Kilgarvan keeper) following good work by Donal Hunt put Crotta leading by 2-02 to 0-01. Crotta weathered the storm at the start of the second half to emerge with victory. Final score Crotta 3-06 Kenmare/Kilgarvan 0-02. Panel and scorers Brandon Conway Darragh Behan, Darragh Kennelly, Jeaic McKenna, Dominic Nolan, Dylan McElligott, Barry Mahony(0-01), Thomas Quinlan, Colin Browne (0-01), Sean O'Donoghue (0-03), Darragh O'Donoghue (2-00), Adam O'Sullivan, Donal Hunt(1-00),Cathal Kennelly (0-01) John Quilter, Brian O'Connell, Aaron Murnane, Sean Galvin, Darragh Stack, Jack Glavin, Padraig Hunt, Padraig Dillon, Darragh Sheehan, Nathan Fahy and Aoife Behan.

CROTTA U-12
Our U12 team made the short trip to Lixnaw last Friday evening 30th April to play their final game in the group stages. Both teams had 8 points going into the match so it was a top of the table clash. Crotta open the scoring after 2 mins when Sean O'Donoghue pointed a 20m sideline. Lixnaw then took the lead with two pointed frees before Barry Mahony levelled matters for Crotta from a long range free. Another pointed Lixnaw free gave them a narrow lead. 5mins before half time a sideline ball by Barry Mahony was plucked from the air by Sean O'Donoghue 30m from goal and he hit an unstoppable piledriver into the top corner of the Lixnaw net. Half time Crotta 1 02 Lixnaw 0 03. Following a foul on Colin Browne Crotta went 3 points ahead as Mahony pointed the resultant free. the game was end to end from then on and after a mix up in the Crotta full back line Shane Conway tied the scores. A Crotta reply was immediate when Sean O'Donoghue broke away from the home defence to finish clinically to the net. Crotta again led by a goal. Soon after Donal Hunt(Crotta) applied a neat finish to leave Crotta leading by six points. Both Mahony( a long range free against a strong breeze) and Conway(2) traded pointed frees before Adam O'Sullivan closed the scoring when firing over with time almost up. Full time Crotta 3 05 Lixnaw 1 05. Scorers Sean O'Donoghue 2 01 Barry Mahony 0 03 Donal Hunt 1 00 Adam O'Sullivan 0 01. Barry Mahony was outstanding for Crotta.
