SANTA will be visiting St. Teresa’s national school, Kilflynn on Sunday 15th December. The day will be packed with activities for all the family. The asto turf pitch will be launched on the day with a “Celebrity match”. its also hoped to hold a craft fair on the day, any locals that wish to sell or display their wares on the day, should contact the school or Mike Parker 087 9794541.

CARE GROUP CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Care Group Christmas Party will be held on Sunday 8th December in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee . Buses leaving both Kilflynn and Abbeydorney villages at 1.00.p.m. Sharp. Contribution 10 euro per person.

GROUND HURLING TOURNAMENT
The Annual Under 13 Ground Hurling Tournament for the Eddie Hayes Memorial cup was held on Saturday 23rd November in the Sports field Abbeydorney. The Five Teams that participated were Abbeydorney, Ardfert, Ballyduff, Crotta and Killmoyley. In the Eddie Hayes Memorial cup Final Abbeydorney defeated Ballyduff and in The Eddie Hayes Memorial cup Shield Final Kilmoyley defeated Crotta Full report in next weeks next notes.

GOBLIN
A Mass will be held for all deceased members of Goblin and their families on Thursday 28th November in St Johns Church, Tralee at 7.30pm.

AWARDS
THE North Kerry Hurling Board Annual awards night was held at Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee on Friday 22nd November. Crotta U-14 hurler Adam O’Sullivan received the North Kerry Hurling Under 14 “A” player of the year award from North Kerry Hurling Board Secretary Pat Dineen. Congratulations Adam.

CHRISTMAS RETREAT
The Christmas Retreat for the women of the Abbeydorney/Kilflynn parish takes place in Ardfert Retreat Centre on Thursday 28th Nov at 8.00 pm . All are welcome.

The Crotta hurling club will hold a Christmas draw with 1,000 euro in prizes also numerous other prizes to be won. 1st Prize €500, 2nd Prize €200 and 3rd Prize €200.Tickets are only 5 euro each. and are available from club officers

HARD TIMES 1
Will be screened in the Classic Cinema, Listowel, on Friday night 6th December at 8.00 p.m. all proceeds donated to Aras Mhuire Nursing Homr, Listowel. Set in Kerry in the 1950’s. A story about a servant girl looking for work. A farmer takes her on and she sees hard times. A local cast from Athea, Glin and Moyvane, plus 60 extras. The film is 2 hours. DRAMA
The Group Theatre Tralee is delighted to announce that it is to present the world premiere of The Rapparees by Jim Lucason on Thursday 28th Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November in St. John’s Theatre, Listowel. Two members of Kilflynn drama group Niall McElligott and Sean Guiheen are members of the Cast.

KILFLYNN DANCING SOCIAL

FALVEY AND LEAHY WIN TURKEYS
Twenty Darts players participated in, The weekly Darts Double Tournament in Parker's Lounge, on Saturday 23rd November. In the Final, Declan Falvey and John Leahy defeated Micheal O'Sullivan and Danny Caffrey and won the fresh Turkeys. The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday night 30th November in Parkers Snug bar at 10.30p.m. Sharp. Strictly over 18s. The winners will receive a Fresh Turkey each.

HISTORY LECTURE
A Lecture To Commemorate the 100th Anniversary on the Foundation of the Irish Volunteers in 1913 will be given on Friday 22nd of November @ 8.30 pm in The Tochar Inn (Yallops) Causeway, there will be a special mention about local Volunteers such as Thomas Archer Cloonafineela Kilflynn, James Hanlon, James Barry, , Jack Lawlor & Michael Maguire, The lecture will be given by Dr Tim Horgan, the well known Tralee historian and co author of the recently published book ' The Men Will Talk To Me,' Everybody Welcome, Admission Free.

TAEKWON DO FEVER HITS KILFLYNN
Sunday 17th November marked the inaugural Kilflynn School of Tae Kwon Do tournament held in the St. Columbus Centre, Kilflynn. Eighteen pupils took part, ranging in grades from White Belt to Second Degree Black Belt. Padraig Harrington, Bobby O’Connor, Cian O’Sullivan , Ruth O’Connor,
Sean McGrath, Eoin O’Connor, Conor Enright, Brian Enright, Eoin Griffin ,
Luke O’Regan, Michael Shanahan, Jack Hannon, Cian Quirke, William O’Connor, Dearbhla Quirke, Luansa Parkinson, Cora Long and Lucas Parkinson.
A packed hall cheered on the pupils who were put through their paces by instructor Mr. Mike Murphy, 6th Degree Black Belt. Pupils were competing against each other, according to grade, by demonstrating their patterns and sparring abilities.
The competition marked the 6th year in existence for the Kilflynn School of TaeKwon-Do. “Feedback from parents, pupils, and school instructors is that the tournament was a resounding success. Hopefully this will become an annual event on the TaeKwon-Do calendar,” said instructor Mr. Mike Murphy after the event. Local businessman Mike Parker officially opened the competition and presented trophies and medals to the triumphant pupils

GROUND HURLING TOURNAMENT
The Annual Ground Hurling Tournament for the Eddie Hayes Memorial cup will be held on this Saturday 23rd November in the Sports field Abbeydorney. Eight Teams from Div 1, Div 2 and Div 3 of the County leagues are invited. Action begins at 10.30 a.m. See the young hurlers of the future in action. Best of luck to teams and their mentors.

BRU COLUMBANU in conjunction with BALLYHEIGUE BEARD FEST.
This year we are fundraising for Brú Columbanus, Cork. A home from home for the families of patients in Cork hospitals. The Beard Fest will take place in Kirby's Bar, Ballyheigue on Sat 30th Nov.
