MANNEQUIN CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
St. Teresa’s National School, Kilflynn is enriched in community spirit and this was never more evident than when they recently smashed their ‘Mannequin Challenge’. Pupils, teachers, principal, parents, grandparents and members of the community gathered in the school to make time stand still together.
The whole school community attempted to capture everything that epitomises Kilflynn in a moment frozen in time. Every day activities such as lining up, reading stories, playing maths games, handwriting, science experiments and general fun and frolics can be seen throughout the school. Furthermore, we have a school steeped in a tradition of Irish music and hurling, hugely supported by our local club Crotta GAA and surrounding community. Family plays an integral role in our school, and this resonated throughout our Mannequin Challenge. Parents and grandparents of our knitting club eagerly accepted the challenge without hesitation.
The school is forever indebted to its families and community and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their continued involvement, encouragement and support. People coming together as a community can make things happen and you never fail to amaze us.
And, Last but by no means least, a sincere thank you to local man Mike Parker for making this, and much more, happen for our school. “Time is not measure by clocks but by moments”.

KILFLYNN CANCER SUPPORT GROUP ANNUAL TABLE QUIZ
Originally established by Fr. Pat O'Donnell in 2004, this Christmas the Kilflynn Cancer Support Group is holding its thirteenth annual table quiz. Fr. Pat, as a cancer survivor, came up with the idea of holding a fundraising quiz in Kilflynn at Christmas time. The success of the first quiz ensured that it would become an annual event and to date over €64,000 has been raised and distributed to local cancer charities. This year’s quiz will be held on Wednesday night, December 28th at 9pm and as usual will be a simulcast between Parker’s Pub and Herbert’s Bar. This year the proceeds will again be divided between Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support. As well as being a great fundraiser, the quiz has become a big part of Christmas community celebrations in Kilflynn, with local families returning each year. The fun filled quiz night is not all about answering questions, as there are also numerous auctions and raffles which add to the atmosphere. There will be special guests on the night. The organisers would be grateful to receive any donations for the various raffles. All donations can be handed in to Parker’s Pub or Herbert’s Bar and shop. As usual the quizmaster for the event is John Flaherty.
