WEDDING BELLS
Heartiest Congratulations  to  Johnny Cashell, son of John and Breda Cashell, Stacksmountain Kilflynn and Maura Reidy, daughter of Jer and Shelia Reidy, Ballyheigue and who married on Friday 20th October in St Mary's church, Ballyheigue. The beautiful ceremony was performed by Fr. Denis O’Mahony, Abbeydorney P.P. 
The Bestman was Damian Cashell and groomsmen were Tommy Cashell and Mark O'Flaherty..The Bridesmaids were Elaine Lucid, Marian Costello and Michelle Gaynor. A large crowd of family and friends attended the wedding ceremony and afterwards the wedding reception, which was held at Skellig hotel, Dingle. A great day and night, was had by all in attendance. The couple will reside in Kilflynn. We wish Maura and Johnny many happy years of married life 

NORTH KERRY HURLING BOARD AWARDS NIGHT 
The North Kerry Hurling Board awards took place on Friday 24th November at a packed Ballyroe Heights Hotel , Tralee. The North Kerry Clubs were represented & the various awards presented. The event was also attended by a lot of the under age mentors & parents & families of the award winners. The Crotta Hurling Club was represented with the following recipients of different awards; Under 15 player of the Match: Eoin Reilhan and U-16 player of the Match: Darragh Murnane. The Causeway Comprehensive Student Darragh had an excellent game in goals against Lixnaw in the Final, Darragh was also a member of the victorious Crotta Minor panel with the duel Hurler and Footballer Eoin got vital points in the final against Kilmoyley. The Tralee C.B.S Student was also a member of the Victories Crotta U-16 and Minor panels. Well done to Eoin and Darragh who were rewarded for their efforts  also two other Crotta members were honoured  on the night, Amy O’Sullivan who won 4 All-Ireland Medals in 2017, with Cillard and Kerry Camogie teams also back in April, Amy won the John West All Ireland Féile Skills in the finals in Abbotstown beating off competition from 28 other counties in the process. Crotta Hurling club stalwart Sonny Egan who captured the County title in the senior county scór recitation competition in Muire Gan Smal Presentation Primary School Castleisland on Saturday, 18th February also received a special merit award on Friday night. Well done to Amy and Sonny.
The Guest of Honour was former Tipp 'keeper Brendan Cummins  who gave a very well received speech. Brendan also presented the awards to the players.

SENIOR CITIZENS  CHRISTMAS PARTY 
The Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Senior Citizens Christmas party will be held in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee on Sunday 10th December. Busses leaving both village's at 1.00p.m

The winners of the weekly doubles darts tournament in Parker's Lounge Bar on Saturday 18th  November were Keith  Silles  and Greg Leahy who defeated Maurice Fealy and Tim O’Halloran in the final. 16 dart players participated. The winners received fresh Turkey each. AIB ALL IRELAND JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
The All-Ireland Junior Camogie Final between Kerry Side Clanmaurice and Kilmessan who hail from Meath finished at 1-04 each at full time in Crettyard Co Laois on Sunday 26th November. The Crotta Girls Aoife Behan and Jacqueline Horgan both played well, with Aoife getting Clanmaurice’s goal. The sided will meet again next Sunday 3rd December in Silvermines Gaa Club , Dolla , Co Tipperary , throw in at 1.15 pm . Best of luck to  Aoife and Jacqueline  and their team mates. Please get behind these girls they really do deserve your support. 

COME AND TRY HURLING
Crotta O'Neill's Hurling Club will host come-and-try hurling sessions for boys and girls of Dromclough National School in St. Senan's Sports Hall, Mountcoal on Saturday nights from 5.30p.m to 6.30p.m.
The sessions are for children from 3rd and 4th class. 
Hurleys and helmets will be provided. The hurling come-and-try sessions are free and will run  for another 2 weeks.

SCIENCE WEEK
Once again St Teresa’s National School, Kilflynn had a fantastic fun-filled Science Week !! The children explored how Science works and became mini-scientists for the week. To celebrate all their hard work, we had our annual Science Week Dress-Up Day and the children exceeded all expectations !!! They really got into the spirit of ‘science’ and blew us away with their costume designs. All of us at St. Teresa’s are delighted with the enthusiasm shown and support from all the children and their parents.

CROTTA COISTE NA NOG AWARDS NIGHT
The Crotta Coiste na nÓg awards night will be on Saturday 25th November starting at 7:30 pm sharp in Colunbas Centre, Kilflynn. Please arrive at 7:15pm at the latest.
Medals will be presented to the  U-13, U-15 and 16 Hurling panels. The Crotta U-12 panel that played in Croke Park will also receive a presentation of a team photo from Croke Park. All Members in the club are encouraged to attend to recognise the success of Juvenile level this season and players from the above teams are required to attend.

ACTIVE RETIRED GROUP 
A Free Bus Service will collect people from their homes to Abbeydorney Community  Hall, every second Wednesday.   It can be used for access to the Active Retired, Doctors, local shops, chemist etc.  Please contact Kerry Links, if you wish to avail of this service on 1890 528528.

2017 was an excellent year for Kerry Camogie with success at U14, U15 & Minor with All Ireland Titles. Our senior team won the Munster Junior Championship and reached the semi-final of the Liberty Insurance League & Championship and will be aiming to go one better in 2018. There is a lot of expense associated with this number of teams representing Kerry proudly in Camogie and we hope that funds raised in this draw will help offset some of the costs in 2018. UNDER 16 A NORTH KERRY CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
CROTTA 1-11 TO LIXNAW 1-06

The Final of the North Kerry U-16 A Championship was played in Lerrig on Sunday 20th October. Crotta the winners defeating Lixnaw by 1-11 to 1-06.
Conditions for hurling was not ideal, but both teams played the game in a great spirit. Denis Quille opened the scoring for Crotta with a well taking point and Declan O’Donoghue added another from a free. Jack Brosnan levelled for Lixnaw from frees, but a Sean Murnane pass to James Sheehan put Crotta a head again. Then followed a series of fine saves from Crotta goalkeeper
Darragh Murnane to keep Lixnaw at bay and following points from James Sheehan and Declan O’Donoghue who was accurate from frees Crotta led at half time by 0-08 to 0-03.
Both teams found scores hard to come by in the second half, Sean Murnane had to go off for treatment to leg injury and was replaced by Eoin Relihan. Jack Brosnan and Declan O’Donoghue kept the score board ticking over with points from frees and then Sean Murnane who had retuned to the field of play gave a pass to Declan O’Donoghue and he finished superbly to the net leaving the scoreline Crotta 1-10 to Lixnaw 0-05. Lixnaw battled back and a great shot from a 21 yards free by Jack Brosnan found the Crotta net and Rory McAuliffe followed with a point reduce the margin to four points. Another great save from Crotta goalkeeper Darragh Murnane kept Crotta’s lead intact and Declan O’Donoghue finished off the scoring with a late point leave the final scoreline Crotta 1-11 to Lixnaw 1-06. After the game  The North Kerry Hurling Board Chairman Pat Dineen presented the Thomas “Son” O’Sullivan memorial shield to victories Crotta Captain Daniel O’Rourke, who thanked the Crotta mentors, Lixnaw for the game, Kilmoyley for the field at short notice and Paddy White for refereeing. Crotta goalkeeper Darragh Murnane was selected for played of the match. Sean will be presented with his award at The North Kerry Hurling Board Awards night on this Friday night 24th November in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee beginning at 8.00pm.

Congratulations to the Crotta panel of players and their mentors of J.P McElligott, Paul Culhane, Sean Weir and Francis Keane. Having already won the County under 16 hurling “A” Championship title for the first time in the clubs history. The victories Crotta panel: Darragh Murnane, Jack Kevin McKenna, Ryan McElligott, Sean McGrath, Daniel O’Rourke, Aodhan McKenna, Cillian Trant, Tadgh McKenna, Aodhan Behan, Tomas Dillon , James Sheehan, Denis Quille, Denis Nolan, Declan O’Donoghue and Sean Murnane. Subs Eoin Reilhan for S. Murnane inj, Sean Murnane for D. Nolan, Donnocha Sayers, Gavin Parker, Cillan Baker, Darragh Keane and Cian Hickey. A great bunch of players who play for each other, play very good Hurling and leave everything on the pitch for their club. Coaches and parents can be so proud of their attitude and behaviour on and off the field. A Huge Thanks to Parents and Supporters for all the help that has been given throughout the year as well. PERMANENT DIACONATE 
At the 6.00 p.m. Mass in St. Church, Kilflynn on Saturday 18th November, Francis White,Ballyconell, Kilflynn will receive the ‘Order of Reader’ from Bishop Ray Browne. This is the second of three stages before ordination as a deacon which will take place next year at the completion of formation. The Kilflynn Church Choir will also be present and will provided the Hymns and music for occasion on Saturday night. The Parish Council will serve refreshments afterwards and all are welcome.

CROTTA COISTE NA NOG MENTORS
With the Coiste na nÓg season over for 2017, we would like to thank all our mentors who put in a huge amount of their time and dedication on a voluntary level to help the club have such a good season at Coiste na nÓg level.
Hurleys were broke, matches were won and lost, all the while our mentors kept the “show on the go” encouraging our players to become better hurlers.
Without our mentors we would not be in such a good place at under age level and as a club we are grateful for their commitment.

We are appealing to the public to please support our upcoming fundraiser. We will be going door to door selling Kerry Camogie Christmas Draw tickets, 1 for a €5, 3 for €10 & 7 for €20 for some fantastic prizes.

2017 was an excellent year for Kerry Camogie with success at U14, U15 & Minor with All Ireland Titles. Our senior team won the Munster Junior Championship and reached the semi-final of the Liberty Insurance League & Championship and will be aiming to go one better in 2018. There is a lot of expense associated with this number of teams representing Kerry proudly in Camogie and we hope that funds raised in this draw will help offset some of the costs in 2018. The winners of the weekly doubles darts tournament in Parker's Snug on Saturday 11th November were Declan Falvey   and J.P Twomey who defeated Raymond O'Connell and Phil Morris  in the final. 16 dart players participated. The winners received the first fresh Turkey of the season  each. The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday night 18th November  at 10.30p.m in Parker's Lounge   Bar. CLANMAURICE HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THE ALL IRELAND FINAL
Well Done to Clanmaurice Camogie Players who qualified for an All Ireland Junior Club Final in  Ballinderreen Gaa Co Galway  on Sunday 12th November when the girls had a a great win over  Athleague Camogie team from Roscommon on the final 3-04 to 1-07.  Clanmaurice led by 1-02 to 0-03 at half time The Munster Junior Club Champions 2017 .will now play Kilmessan Camogie  Meath In the All Ireland Final. on 26th Nov . Time & Venue TBC. . Well Done the Crotta Girls Aoife Behan and Jacqueline Horgan and their Clanmaurice team mates.

COME AND TRY HURLING
Crotta O'Nell's Hurling Club will host come-and-try hurling sessions for boys and girls of Dromclough National School in St. Senan's Sports Hall, Mountcoal on Saturday nights from 5.30p.m to 6.30p.m.
The sessions are for children from 3rd and 4th class. 
Hurleys and helmets will be provided. The hurling come-and-try sessions are free and will run for for 4 weeks.

U-13 GIRLS FOOTBALL
Well done to North Kerry District U13 girls who won the North Kerry Ladies Football U13- District Championship on Sunday 29th October in John Mitchell's. District team made up of Abbeydorney, Finuge St Senans & Beale/Ballyduff. Well done to Abbeydorney players who played a strong part especially to Kilflynn girls Maria Savage who captained the victories side and Amy O'Connell and Katie Corkery who also played their part in the victory. Melanie Higgins received the Player of the match. They defeated Tralee District in the opening game & Castleisland District in the final. Abbeydorney Players were: Aisling Hannafin, Melanie Higgins, Maria Savage, Katie Hussey, Emma Woods, Amy O'Connell, Katie Corkery & Katelyn Leen. Congrats girls

Due to the Orange Weather warning given down for Co. Kerry on Saturday 21st October, the Kilflynn Community Clean-up day was postponed until Saturday 4th of November from 10am to 12 noon. Tell your friends, and neighbours. Bring the children. Bags and pickers will be provided. Let's keep our village and surrounding areas clean. Great for the environment and our wildlife.

KERRY HURLING ALL STARS
The Kerry Hurling All Stars took place in The Railway Bar in Lixnaw on Saturday 28th October. The Kerry Hurling All Stars is organised by Mike O'Halloran to honour the club hurlers of Kerry and their families. Special Guests on the night were Johnny Bunyan, Ballyduff and John Lucid, Ballyheigue. Congratulations to the players who received All Star awards including Crotta Hurler Sean Weir. Congratulations also to Padraig Boyle who was Player of the Year and Shane Conway, Young Player of the Year.

U-21 HURLING 
Crotta U-21 Hurlers advanced to the semi-final of the County Championship with a 1-11 to 0-08 victory over a gallant Ballyduff side on bank holiday Monday 30th October in Ballyduff. Crotta play Abbeydorney/Ballyheigue   on Saturday 4th November at 8.00p.m in Abbeydorney.

The Story Frog Maria is back on Saturday 23rd September from 11:30am to 12:30pm.  Booking is advisable.
Sheena Sexton Boot Camp takes place on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:15pm to 8:15pm.  All fitness levels are welcome. 
Ladybirds are resuming on Thursday 5th October between 6pm and 7pm and every Thursday thereafter excluding school holidays.
