KILFLYNN ENCHANTED FAIRY FESTIVAL
On Monday night last ( 12th October) Kilflynn Enchanted Fairy Festival shared some of the rewards from their fabulous event that was held last June.
In total the Festival is giving € 4,500 which is being distributed evenly to three recipients.
Kilflynn National School, which is attracting large numbers of children each year have always been very welcoming of our Enchanted Fairy Festival and have allowed us the use of the school in the lead up to the festival each year and as the starting point for the parade. Principal Mary O'Carroll and all the teachers have always been most helpful and give great help on the weekend of the festival.
O'Neills Crotta coiste na Nog are another group that provide volunteers for the weekend, between mentors, trainers and parents, their help and support is crucial to our volunteer program .
The third recipient is a new addition to the village of Kilflynn. Kilflynn Community Together was set up this year for the betterment of the community and already the benefits of this group are to be seen in the village with planting of flowers and shrubs along with hanging baskets on the bridg . This combined with painting and regular clean up days are a fantastic addition to the village and we wish them well with their continued hard work.
These three organisations are of course only a few of the groups that row in behind Kilflynn Enchanted Fairy Festival and we are most greatful to all people and organisations that help us out each year without whom it simply would not be possible to hold this unique event. Groups such as Kilflynn Vintage Club with their skill in traffic management are a God send to the Fairy Festival and we really appreciate the hard work there members put in to help make the weekend go smoothly.
The Kilflynn Enchanted Fairy Festival was started in 2014 and from the outset it was always the plan to give back as much as possible to our community and to promote the village of Kilflynn as the beautiful place that it is.
The first meetings have already taken place for next years event which happens on the last weekend of June. We hope that next years event will be as successful and that parents will bring their children for a day of simple fun and a wonderful walk along the Fairy Trail.
"WE BELIEVE IN FAIRIES , WE DO , WE DO ....... "

Republic of Ireland fans Ryan Guerin, Sean McGrath and Gavin Parker, Kilflynn celebrates at the end of the Republic of Ireland match against Germany at the Aviva.
