NORTH KERRY UNDER 16 HURLING B FINAL
CROTTA 3-10  LIXNAW 1-11
The North Kerry U-16 B Championship Final was played at the sportsfield, Lerrig, Kilmoyley on Sunday 30th September . Crotta winning 3-10 to Lixnaw’s 1-11. Lixnaw played with the strong breeze in the first half and had better of the early exchanges with a Mikey Kelleher and Kelton Molly points them leading after 15 mins 1-04 to 0-1. Crotta backs got to grips with the game and when a ball by Sean McGrath went all the way to the Lixnaw net it left the Half Time Score Lixnaw 1-08 to 1-02.
Crotta  started well in the second half and proceeded to play their best hurling this year, with the strong breeze in their favour , Crotta quickly cut down Lixnaw’s lead and Goals by Gavin Parker and Eoin Reilhan and with Denis Nolan unerring from frees, Crotta went into the lead 3-05 to 1-09. They still had lot to do. Tadgh McKenna was proving a power house at centre back ably assisted by Aodhan Behan and Darragh Keane in Defence. Up front Denis Nolan kept the score board ticking over from frees and with Sean McGrath and Captain Thomas Dillon at midfield Crotta kept control of the game, however it took a super save from Donnacha Sayers near the end to keep Crotta’s lead intact and they withstood a strong Lixnaw pressure to end up winners 3-10 to 1-11. After the match Referee John Hennessy (Ballyduff) Selected Denis Nolan as player of the match, but it was a day when all Crotta players played great hurling easily their best performance this year.  Pat Dineen, Cathaoirleach, Bord Iomána Ciarraí Thuaidh presented The John Joe Nolan Memorial Shield to victories Crotta Captain Tomas Dillon. Congratulations and well done to the 16 players, their management team of J.P Hickey, Noel McGrath, Tom McElligott and Peter McGrath for their great work during the year. CROTTA GAA
Congratulations to Jordan Conway who was selected on the Kerry Hurling All Stars Team 2018  hosted by Abbeydorney GAA in their Complex on Friday night 19th October.
There was no fairytale ending to Sean Weir’s international debut as Ireland suffered a 1-9 to 1-11 defeat against Scotland in the Senior Hurling-Shinty International series at Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 20th October.
Ireland, managed by Conor Phelan (Kilkenny) and William Maher (Tipperary), looked well placed at half-time to end their losing streak in the series, but Scotland rallied in the second half and it was their captain, Grant Irvine, who lifted the Marine Harvest Quaich.
Sean, who plays his club hurling with Crotta, said it was an 'unbelievable honour' for him to be selected for the Irish squad which featured household names like Noel Connors (Waterford) and Jason Forde (Tipperary). . On Sunday afternoon 21st October
Senans entertained Listowel Emmets in splendid conditions in Jackie Finnerty Park Mountcoal in North Kerry Senior Football Championship round 1.
Sean Weir who had travelled from Scotland after the shinty match led to a goal mouth scramble and David Foran punished scored his second goal. Heading into the closing stages it was nip and tuck and at the final whistle the sides were level 2-10 to 1-13.
Extra time followed and in the first period of extra time Sean O’Connell proved accurate again with three points to Listowel’s two. In the final ten minutes Sean Weir slotted two points to the delight of the home fans and Senans move on to the next round with a three point victory 2-15 to 1-15. Well done to the St. Senans players, especially Sean Weir, who played for Ireland on Saturday and helped his Club to the quarter final of the North Kerry Championship on Sunday.
Congratulations and Well done to our hurler Sean O'Donoghue who was playing for Clonakilty Agriculture College Cork when they won the All Ireland Agricultural College’s Cup beating Pallaskenry of Limerick in the Final on Monday 22nd October.
