There was great demand for Crotta hurling club weekly lottery tickets at the weekend with everyone striving their best to win the Jackpot of €5,000.

KATHLEEN KENNY R.I.P
The death has occurred of Kathleen Kenny (nee Callanan), Listellick, Tralee, and late of Killandeema Co Galway on Friday 20th September. Peacefully, at her residence. She is survived by her husband Thomas, sister Maidie and brother Bobby of Killandeema, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends to whom we offer our deepest sympathies. Burial took place in Kyrie Eleison Cemetery, Abbeydourney after 11.15 a.m. in St. Michael's church, Lixnaw on Sunday 22nd September. May she rest in peace.

ALL IRELAND TITLE FOR KERRY U-21 HURLERS
Crotta hurlers Tom B McElligott and Sean Weir who were members of the victories Kerry Under 21 Hurlers who snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in this thrilling Under 21 B All Ireland Hurling Final at Semple Stadium Thurles on Saturday 14th September by 1-21 to 4-10. Trailing by two points to a goal hungry Kildare side with the clock ticking over into injury time, centre back Brain Murphy of Causeway launched a massive clearance of over 80 metres into the Kildare goalmouth. Up soared full forward Padraig Boyle and within a flash he had the ball in his hand and then billowed the net to give Kerry the lead. Philip Lucid collected the short puckout and fired over the insurance score and Kerry had won their second All Ireland Hurling title in a week. The Crotta hurling Club was represented on the victories Kerry Team by Tom B McElligott at cornerback and Sean Weir, who made a big impact after coming on as a substitute in the second half. Congratulations and well done to Tom and Sean and their Kerry team mates and their Manager Joe Walsh (Kilmoyley) Selectors: D. J. Leahy (Causeway) John Lucid (Ballyheigue), Tom O’Connell (Abbeydorney) who helped Kerry claim their Eight All Ireland Under 21 B All Ireland Hurling Title. The game was shown live by TG4.
Clare defeated Antrim by 2-28 to 0-12 in the Bord Gais Energy GAA Hurling All Ireland U21 A Championship Final also on played at Semple Stadium Thurles, on Saturday.

GAA INTO Exhibition Go Games
Crotta under 12 hurler Sean Murnane played in the GAA\INTO Respect Hurling Exhibition Go Games at half-time in the All Ireland minor hurling final between Waterford and Galway at Croke Park on Sunday 8th September, representing his former school, St Teresa's National School, Kilflynn. Sean is a first year student at Causeway Comprehensive School and wore the Clare number 3 jersey and was joined by his Parents Kay and Paddy, his twin brother Darragh and his brother Aaron on the historic day.

UNDER 13 FINAL
Crotta U- 13 hurlers were defeated by Abbeydorney in the North Kerry Championship Final in Lixnaw on Monday 9th September by 2-05 to 0-02.

UNDER 8 BLITZ
Crotta Under 8 hurlers participated in the Under 8 hurling blitz in Abbeydorney Sportsfield on Saturday 14th September and played again Tralee Parnells, Lixnaw and Causeway, with victories going to the young Crotta players. The Crotta players the lined out in the green an red were Ella Buckley, Conor Enright, Brian Enright, Ryan Houlihan,Cillian Hussey, Elle McCarthy, Jack O’Donoghue, Hazel Parker, Calum Ryan, Jack Ryan, Sean McElligott and Brian Quilter.
Congratulations and Well done to all the players and parents who attended on the day and thanks to our coaches Tom O’Donogue and Mark Hussey who looked after the team on the day. The second U-08 blitz will be held this Saturday 21st September at 12 noon to 1-00 p.m. Can all players be there for 11.30 a.m. please.

UNDER 10 BLITZ TITLE FOR CROTTA
The Crotta Hurling club were invited to take part in a U-10 Hurling blitz hosted by Tralee Parnells Hurling Club in Austin Stack Park on Saturday 7th September. Teams competing on the day included Abbeydorney, Ballyduff, Tralee Parnells and our own wee bunch of Green and Red warrior’s. All games were very entertaining and free-flowing and full credit to all the coaches and mentors for having the teams organised. All the kids played really well and gave a wonderful display, showing great enthusiasm and showed their many talents, that they have learned from their coaching sessions and well done to them. Crotta had victories over Parnells, Abbeydorney and in the final, had a 4-04 to 2-01 over a gallant Ballyduff side, who beat Crotta in a game before the final. Our rock solid keeper Donnacha Sayers and backs were hurling well under severe pressure at times while our forwards were scoring at the other end of the field.

The Crotta Scorers in the Final were:Rory Mahony 1-02, Darragh Keane, 1-01, Gavin Parker 1-01 and Mark Sheehan 1-00. After the final, Crotta victories captain, Cian Hickey received the trophy on behalf of his team from Tralee Parells vice chairman Dermot Reen, Player of the Tournament went to Crotta’s Sean McGrath who was outstanding in the backs, Sean received a beautiful trophy, all 12 Crotta lads played their part. Congratulations and Well done to all the players and parents who attended on the day and thanks to our coaches Tom McElligott and Francis Keane who looked after the team on the day. Parnells took the shield beating Abbeydorney in the final. Great Credit to Dermot Reen and the Tralee Parnells Club for the hosting the well organised and a very successful tournament and giving the hurling stars of the future to play in Austin Stack Park, also thanks to the referees Neilus Slattery and Patrick Corridon. Thanks to the Oyster Tavern and James Ryall Travel for sponsoring the event. The young Crotta hurlers already won The North Kerry Hurling Board U-10 hurling blitz b section title and U-11 North Kerry Championship title this year and added the Tralee Parnells U10 blitz title on Saturday. Kerry will play Kildare in the Bord Gais Energy GAA Hurling All Ireland U21 B Championship Final on Saturday September 14th at 3:00pm in Semple Stadium Thurles.

The Crotta hurling Club will be represented on the Kerry Team by Tom B McElligott and Sean Weir, We wish Tom and Sean and their team mates all the best in the Final. This game will be shown live by TG4. WEDDING BELLS IN KILFLYNN
Heartiest congratulations and best wishes goes to Catherine Nolan, daughter of Mary and Cyril Nolan, Tullig, Kilflynn and Peter McGrath, son of Kathleen and Pat McGrath, Upper Tullig, Kilflynn, who were married in St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn on Saturday 7th September . The beautiful ceremony was performed by Fr. Denis O’Mahony, Abbeydorney P.P. The wedding reception was held in Ballyseede Castle Hotel, Tralee. A great day and night, was had by all in attendance. The couple will reside in Castletown, Kilflynn. We Wish Catherine And Peter Many Happy Years Of Married Life Together.

CROTTA G.A.A
Crotta under 16 hurler Darragh Ryan got Keyhole surgery on one of his hips on Friday 6th and will have Keyhole surgery on his other hip on Friday 20th September in Whitfield Clinic Waterford. On behalf of the Crotta Hurling Club and the Community, We wish all the Best of Luck to Darragh with his operations, and a speedy and successful recovery and we look forward to see him back playing hurling in the number 3 Jerseys of Crotta and Kerry and football for Kerins O'Rahillys in 2014.

CROTTA HURLER TO PLAY IN CROKE PARK
Best of luck to Crotta under 12 hurler Sean Murnane who will play in a G.A.A. / I.N.T.O. Respect Exhibition Go-Games at the All Ireland senior hurling final between Cork and Clare at half-time in Croke Park on Sunday 8th September, representing his former school, St Teresa's National School, Kilflynn. Sean is a first year student at Causeway Comprehensive School and will travel to Dublin with his Parents Kay and Paddy, his twin brother Darragh and his brother Aaron.

WEDDING BELLS
Heartiest congratulations and best wishes goes to Christina Hickey, daughter of Kitty and Michael Hickey, Keel, Kilflynn and Shane O’Carroll son of Breda and the late Jerry O’Carroll, Drumnacurra, Causeway, who were married in St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn on Saturday 31st August. The beautiful ceremony was performed by Fr. Denis O’Mahony, Abbeydorney P.P. The church was beautifully decorated inside and outside by the bride and her staff from All Seasons Florist, Kilflynn. The Groomsmen were Shane Flynn, Derek O’Carroll and Aidan O’Carroll and The Bridesmaid were Annette Oliver, Caroline Hickey and Michelle Hickey. Junior Groomsman: Kian Hickey. Flower Girls were: Kya DeGraag, Kayla DeGraag and Megan Hickey. The wedding reception was held in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee. A great day and night, was had by all in attendance. The couple will reside in Castletown, Kilflynn. We Wish Christina And Shane Many Happy Years Of Married Life Together.

Crotta under 16 hurler Darragh Ryan is getting Keyhole surgery on both hips on Friday 6th and Friday 20th September in Whitfield Clinic Waterford. On behalf of the Crotta Hurling Club and the Community, We wish all the Best of Luck to Darragh with his operations, and a speedy and successful recovery and we look forward to see him back playing hurling in the number 3 Jerseys of Crotta and Kerry and football for Kerins O'Rahillys in 2014.

UNDER 13 FINAL
Crotta and Abbeydorney U-13 Hurlers will contest the North Kerry Championship Final on Monday 9th September at 6.30 p.m. in Lixnaw. C’mon and support the stars of the future. We wish all the best of Luck to the Crotta players and their management.

UNDER 10 BLITZ
Crotta U-10 hurlers will take part in a Under 10 Hurling Blitz in Austin Stacks Park, Tralee on Saturday 7th September staring at 11.00 a.m. sharp and finishing at 1.00 p.m. Players are requested to be in the venue for 10.30 a.m. The last training session this Thursday evening at 7-8 p.m. in the sports field Dromakee, Kilflynn.

DANCING IN KILFLYNN
The Dancing will resume again for this season on Monday 9th September at 9.00 pm sharp. In St.Columbas Centre, Kilflynn. And will continued every Monday night at 9.00 p.m. Plenty of fun and exercise guaranteed. All Welcome.
