SCHOOL FOOTBALL
Kilflynn National School football team commenced their
St. Brendan’s Board Allianz Cumann na mBunscol competition with a 3-07 to 0-10 victory over a gallant Abbeydorney national schools side in the sportsfield, dromakee on Wednesday 23rd September. Kilflynn are away to St.Brendans School,
Fenit on Wednesday 30th September in the next round.

DANCING IN KILFLYNN
The Dancing resumed again for this season on Monday 7th September at 9.00 pm sharp. In St.Columbas Centre, Kilflynn. And will continued every Monday night at 9.00 p.m. Plenty of fun and exercise guaranteed. All Welcome.

CREATIVE WRITING

HURLING FINAL
The Garveys Supervalu County Senior Hurling Championship Final on Sunday 27th September. Kilmoyley 3-15 to St.Brendans 1-13. Congrats to Kilmoyley and Hard luck to Ardfert. Well done to The Abbeydorney Hurling Club who did a great job on hosting the final. Also to Ger Doyle and North Kerry Hurling Board who produced a excellent programme for the game.

CAUSEWAY BABMINTON
We have started back playing babminton again on Tuesdays at 9.00pm in Causeway sports hall. We are starting up a club this year and we are looking for new members to join so anyone interested, please come along. All welcome.

HURLING RESULTS
The Crotta and South Kerry U16 Hurlers must meet again in The County Championship U-16 Final, when both team finished with a score of 1-16 each after extra time on Saturday 26th September in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. There is no date of the replay.

Eileen Brennan and Micheal O'Sullivan defeated Paddy Weir and J.P Twomey in the weekly double darts tournament in Parker's Lounge Bar on Saturday 26th September.

COUNTY HURLING FINAL
Garveys Super Valu County Senior Hurling Championship Final between Kilmoyley and St Brendans will be played in Abbeydorney on Sunday 27th September at 3pm.
Best of luck to both teams also to the Abbeydorney Hurling Club who are hosting the final.
The match programme for the game will be compiled once again by the North Kerry Hurling Board under the editorship of Ger Doyle.
The last county hurling final played outside of Austin Stack Park was in 1990 when St. Brendan’s had a 3 - 8 to 0 – 14 win over Ballyduff. The game was played at Causeway. As that was 25 years ago, the team being honoured at this year’s final will be that St. Brendan’s team (which was captained by Philly Stack).

A new play by Kenmare playwright Sadhbh Moriarty called ‘In Salt of Light Rings They Drew’ will be performed at the Seanchaí Centre, Listowel on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd September at 8 pm. The play was the recipient of the Eamonn Keane Full Length Play Award at Listowel Writers' Week 2015. Sadhbh’s father Paudie is a native of Listowel. Tickets available at (068) 22212.

North Kerry Hurling Board U-16 Championship Tralee Parnells 4-00 to Crotta 6-12, played in Caherslee, on Monday evening 7th September.
Crotta U-12 Hurlers were Crowned County League Div 2 Champions when they had a 2-07 to 2-02 victory over a gallant Lixnaw side at the Sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn on Tuesday evening 8th September. The home side led by 1-02 to 1-00
The Crotta Scorers were Amy O'Sullivan1-4, Darragh Keane 1-0, Rory Mahony 0-2 and Gavin Parker 0-1 with Lixnaw Scores coming from Cian McMahon 1-00, Eoghan Stack 1-00 and Josh Brosnan 0-02.

LAST MAN STANDING COMPETETION
The Crotta Hurling Club Last Man Standing competition is back. The rules are simple and the competition is tough. €10 entry fee to be in with a chance to win the prize along with the fame and glory. Ask club officers or senior players for further information or to enter. Texts will be sent out before it starts. How To Play Select one team to win from the Premier League Fixtures each weekend. A new school record was set on that day by the presence of two sets of twins in the class: Paddy & Matt Cronin and Bláthnaid & Rosalyn Buckley.Joining them in junior infants are Sarah O'Driscoll, Isobel Kane, Sarah Fennell, Orla Brennan, Íde Hussey, Grace O'Donoghue, Avalon Knott, Caiden O'Callaghan, Daniel Diggins, Leon Butt, Darren Mc Elligott,, Daithí Nolan, Jack Mahony, Dáire McGuinness and Bobby Ryan.
It was also a first day for Catríona Farrelly and Áine Ní Loingsigh who have joined the teaching staff this year. Best wishes for the year ahead to all the pupils and to everybody who works in the school.

ACTIVE RETIRED GROUP
The Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Active Retired group will meet next Wednesday September 9th at the Community Hall in Abbeydorney at 1 pm. A meal will be served followed by entertainment. All are welcome. If anyone requires transport please contact 0667 1 35831.

DANCING IN KILFLYNN

The Annual U-13 Ground Hurling Tournament for the Eddie Hayes Memorial cup will be held on Saturday 12th September in the Sports field Dromakee, Kilflynn. Action begins at 10.30 a.m. See the young hurlers of the future in action.

KERRY MINOR HURLERS
Best of Luck to The Crotta hurlers Tomas O’Connor and Colin Browne and their Kerry Minor team mates and mentors who will play Roscommon in the Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor B Hurling Championship (Peadar O Liathain Cup) Final on Saturday September 5th at 2pm in the Gaelic Grounds Limerick.

Micheal O'Sullivan and Keith Silles defeated Keith O'Carroll and Mike Fealy in the weekly double darts tournament in Parker's Lounge Bar on Saturday 22nd August.
The next darts doubles tournament takes place on Saturday night 5th September at 10.30 p.m. in Parker's Snug bar.

HURLING RESULTS
Crotta U-12 Hurlers had a 2-04 to 2-00 victory over Kenmare In The County U -12 Hurling League Div 2 phase 2 in Kenmare on Friday evening 28th August.
Crotta U8 Hurlers had two team in causeway on Saturday 30th August Team 1 had wins over Lixnaw, Kilmoyley and Tralee Parnells and Team 2 had very competitive games against Causeway, Tralee Parnells and Ballyduff. The players had Great fun. Well done to done to all players and thanks to the hosts Causeway Hurling Club.
