VINTAGE TRACTOR RUN
The Kilflynn Vintage Club is hold a Vintage Tractor Run on Sunday 19 th June in aid of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland North Kerry Branch. The tractor run will commence from Kilflynn village at 12 noon.
The Crotta senior hurlers made their exit from this year North Kerry Championship, when they lost to Kilmoyley after hard fought battle in lerrig on Saturday evening on the 2-13 Crotta 1-10 final score line, The home side led at half time 2-03 to 1-05.

The North Kerry Hurling board juvenile committee Coiste na nOg were presented with 15 new trophies at a function in Causeway Comprehensive School on Friday 22 nd May, among them one Trophy from Crotta. The Tod Nolan Memorial Trophy was presented by Cyril Nolan and will be played for the under 14 b Championship competition. The teams the will compete will be Duagh, Crotta, Lixnaw, Abbeydorney, and Ballyheigue, and will commence on Saturday 16 th July, Crotta are away to Duagh.
Wishing a Speedy Recovery to Andrew Keane whom receive a leg injury playing against Kildare in the first round of the Christy Ring cup, Kerry lost on the score 4-12 to 1-17.
Crotta Junior hurlers are away to Causeway on Wednesday evening 15 th June at 8 p.m in the Castleisland Co-Op Mart Intermediate hurling championship round one.
County Senior league div 1 on Saturday evening 18 th June at Dromakee, Crotta v Lixnaw at 8 p.m
The Crotta under 14 hurlers travelled to Dingle on Friday evening last and captured two county league points with a victory over the home side on 5-06 to 3-03 score line.

Calling on all golfers in the locality, the 3rd Annual Canadian Scramble, Charity Golf Classic in aid of the Kerry Hospice, will be held on Sat June 18th from 12:00 to 1:30 pm at Castlegregory Golf Club. Entry 35 Euro per person which includes 18 holes golf and Barbecue. Names must be in before Thursday 17th June to Tom Thring (Limited number of spaces). Presentation of prizes, Barbeque and music in Cronin's bar that night.
The Kerry Community Games athletics finals will take this Saturday and Sunday 18 th and 19th June starting on Saturday at 10.30 a.m. all who qualified at the Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Community Games finals please be in Austin Stack's Park, Tralee at 10.30 a.m. All field events will be concluded on Saturday. Best of luck to all local competitors.
The Four numbers drawn out of the drum in the Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw at Cronin's bar on Monday night 13 th June were: 3,13, 18 & 19. There was no winner of the €3,300 Jackpot. The following won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Elsie O'Sullivan , Castletown, Martina Lawlor, Tullacrimmin, Abbeydorney, and Mike Mahony, Lisalearna, Tralee . The Independent observer was Paul Sheehan, Kilflynn. The next draw will take place on Monday 20 th June in Parker's Bar with a € 3,400. Tickets are on Sale at only €2 from Crotta ticket sellers, Kilflynn Post office, Cronin's Bar and Parker's Bar, Kilflynn. If your not in, you can't win.
Kilflynn National School was well represented on Friday 11 th June at Austin Stack's Park, Tralee by Maurice Mc Elligott and Sean Weir at the County Schools Skills Competition finals.

To Grainne Herbert, Castletown and Christina Caffrey, Crotta who have headed off to America for the summer months. Also seeking greener pastures is Siobhan Herbert, Castletown who has headed off to Australia for a longer term. All in Kilflynn wish the Herbert Sister's and Christina well.
STUDENT OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Mairead de Faoite, Ballyconnell, Kilflynn who received the Student of the Year award at the recent Gaelcholaiste Chiarrai student awards night. Mairead received her prestigious award from School Principal Padraig O Dalaigh and Kerry Senior footballer Dara O Cinneide.
Mairead is a Transition student at Gaelcholaiste Chiarrai, Tralee proved a very popular choice as the spontaneous and prolonged applause from the attendance indicated.
