DECORATED EGG COMPETITION
The Kilflynn Vintage Club are once again sponsoring a
painted and decorated egg competition. This year the
competition will be open to all primary schools in the
County. The cost of entry is €2-00 per child, they can
enter both categories and as many eggs as they wish.
There are two simple rules, painted eggs can only be
painted using any colouring material, no addition of
eyes or any other embellishments, decorated eggs are
the same as for the painted ones except these eggs can
have any additional material stuck to them. The upper
age limit is eleven and a half, provided the child is
still at primary level. Entries should have the
child’s name, age, address and name of their school.
€2-00 should be stuck inside the carton and marked as
‘Fragile Eggs’ and posted to the organiser Mr. T. Le
Cuirot, Fahavane, Kilflynn, Co. Kerry to reach me by
the 16th June. Eggs should be hard boiled, and if
using supermarket eggs, they should be lightly sanded
before boiling as they have a light coating of wax on
them and won’t take the paint. The €2-00 entry fee is
to cover administration and return of post for any
awards the entries receive.
