CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE

Christmas is nearing and we are instilling in the children that it is the season of giving and sharing.
What better way to do this than by donating the proceeds of this years’ Christmas Performance to a local charity.
Staff & pupils from St. Teresa’s National School ,Kilflynn worked together to choose Jigsaw Kerry (Youth Mental Health Service) as its chosen charity.
If you would like to donate to this invaluable service, all you need to do is attend our ‘Cracking Christmas Carol Service’.
Where- St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn.
When- Wednesday, December 18th
Now, we may be biased but we’ve heard the children in rehearsals all week and they’ve been AMAZING, so we think you’re all in for a real treat on the day
As the saying goes ‘the more, the merrier’, so bring Moms, Dads, Nanas, grandads, aunts, uncles and sure bring the neighbours too.

KILFLYNN CANCER QUIZ 20th ANNIVERSARY

Believe it or not it is twenty years since Fr. Pat O’Donnell organised the first Cancer support quiz in Kilflynn. After all those years the Christmas quiz is still going strong and returns on Friday, December 27th. With a constant and rising need for their services our designated charities, Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support, need your support more than ever. Our community’s support will help these charities to continue their wonderful work. The quiz has always received unbelievable support from the people of Kilflynn and the surrounding parishes, with more than €85,000 raised to date, the vast majority of which was distributed to Kerry-based cancer charities. With such support, the quiz has become an integral part of Christmas celebrations in the village. Moreover, the event is not all about answering questions but also a fun filled night of music, raffles and auctions. Therefore, the organizers would be grateful to receive any items that might be raffled or sold. Maybe you could ask a business, you regularly deal with, for some item, such as a voucher, that we might raffle or sell on the night. Also, if you have any unwanted presents don’t put them in the attic; give them to us to raise much-needed funds for our charities. Even if you can’t attend on the night we would be grateful for your support in these ways. If interested, please contact John Flaherty at (087) 2352753 or Mike Parker at (087) 9794541. Any donations can be handed in to John, Mike or to Herbert’s Bar and Shop. Anyone who might like to lend a hand on the night itself please let us know. As always, the organisers thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you on the 27th. As the night is always busy, in order that the quiz is comfortably run to everyone’s satisfaction, kick off will be at 8pm sharp.
