CROTTA GAA NEWS
The Todd Nolan Tournament was played at the Centre of Excellence Curran on Saturday afternoon 15th February.
Kerry played Cork in the opening game. The game was very sporting with some great scores taken by both sides against very organized and disciplined defences. Cork won out on a scoreline of Cork 1-15 Kerry 1-10.
This set up a Shield Final where Clare were the opposition. Kerry started brightly and looked very settled early on. At the short whistle it was Kerry 4 points to the good 1-07 to 1-03. Clare played really well in the second half but Kerry looked in form, working hard for each other throughout the pitch. Kerry won out in the end 2-15 to 2-06.
A fantastic tournament well organized by Giles O’Grady & Colm O’ Brien, Kerry Games & Development. All counties Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Clare played the tournament in the spirit of the game, hard and fair which is a great tribute to the great Todd Nolan.
Todd’s wife Carmel Nolan was on hand to present the Todd Nolan Cup and Shield to the winning captains.
Congratulations and well done the Kerry players and their mentors, especially Crotta players Adam Corkery, Stephen Shanahan, Ryan Hurley, Alex Relihan and Cillian Hurley,
Maith sibh gach duine.
