The Crotta club wishes to express sincere sympathy to the Lawlor families in Galway and Tullacrimmin, Abbeydorney.
With John’s passing the Crotta club has lost one of its most loyal and passionate supporters. Throughout the years John made many trips from Galway to lend his support to a Crotta team whether minor or senior.John’s great regret that due to declining health he was unable to be in Tralee in 2023 when Crotta finally ended the championship hoodoo. In his youth John starred as a minor full forward.
Along with Michael McElligott, Brendan Landers and J.P. Twomey he formed part of the St Patrick’s team( a combination of Abbeydorney ,Kilflynn and Crotta) that won the 1956 minor championship title. John contributed 3gls and 2pts out of the final score of St Pats 7 -03 Lixnaw to 7-02.
Unfortunately for the club John left Tullacrimmin when in his prime so another stalwart was lost to the club. Go dtuga dia suaimhneas na siorai do
