CROTTA MEDAL PRESENTATION AND AWARDS NIGHT
THE Crotta O’Neills GAA Club Senior medal presentation and awards night was held in St Columba’s Centre in Kilflynn on Saturday 4th January.
After a delicious meal prepared by Karen Tuite and staff of Prims on the run catering company. The victorious Senior hurling panel received their County Senior League Div 1 medals from club president Dick McElligott, The Club Senior Hurler of The Year, Sean McGrath, received the Dick Parkinson Memorial Trophy. The Sam Hilliard Memorial Trophy was presented to the Club Person of The Year, Club Secretary Darren Houlihan The U-21 player of the year Oisín Heaton received the Diarmuid Galvin Memorial award The intermediate player of the year was Sean Murnane and he received the Maurice Egan memorial trophy. Congratulations to the recipients who received their worthy awards from Club president Dick McElligott.
Thanks to the players, mentors and officers who attended in bad weather conditions, to Paul Shanahan and Paddy Weir who had the centre beautifully decorated in the green and red colours, and to Maureen, Maire and Mary who served the meal and desserts. Roll on 2025. CrottaAbu
ACTIVE RETIRED
This year’s Abbeydorney / Kilflynn Active Retired Group Christmas Party held in the Abbeydorney Community Hall was a huge success, with plenty of food, fun and laughter. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to make the occasion such a success, to all who gave spot prizes, your donations are very welcome and were much appreciated. Thanks to our chef Siobhan Leen, for producing a delicious meal and to Sonny Egan and Mike Williams for keeping everyone entertained throughout the day, thanks to all the staff behind the scenes who put so much time and effort into making the day a success. Thanks our MC, Tom O’Mahony for his professionalism, and lastly a big thank you to Santa Claus whose visit made the day perfect. Much of the success of the day is due to those active retired members who take part in the activities and make the time, not just at Christmas, but all year round to participate in the meetings and days out. We are meeting again on Wednesday 8th January at the usual time of 10.30am in the Community Hall. New members are most welcome, you do not have to be from Abbeydorney or Kilflynn to join, everyone welcome, please contact Marie Williams 066 7135831 for any questions you may have.

KILFLYNN CITY WALKING AND RUNNING GROUP
Everyone, Let’s get moving
Our January challenge is here for everyone of all abilities, age and fitness levels. The purpose of this challenge is to get everyone moving in 2025. Walk, run, swim, cycle or do some form of exercise for 30 mins everyday for the month of January.
We had our first meetup on Wednesday, January 1st at 10.00 am in the Community Walkway at Crotta GAA.
We will host a meet up at the end of the challenge on 31st January, where any donations can be given for Kerry Hospice Foundation.

We at Abbeydorney Kilflynn active retired have finished our meetings for the year of 2024, thank you to all the members who make the active retired group a huge success, this would not happen without consistent participation and input from all participants.
