CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn was the venue for the Crotta Hurling Club weekly lotto draw on Monday 12th August. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw   were 1,14,27 and 28. There was no winner of the 3,200 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Margaret Keane, Connolly Park, Tralee, Caoimhe O’Leary, Cordal, Castleisland and P.J Barry, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw.
The next draw will take place in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn on Monday night 19th August at 10.30p.m with a €3,300 Jackpot.

North Kerry Intermediate Championship Quarter Final full time
Lixnaw 2-18 Crotta O’Neills 0-14.
Congrats to Lixnaw and well done to the Crotta 15 players who togged out on Wednesday evening 7th August at the sportsfield, dromakee.
At Hermitage Park, Lixnaw GAA on Thursday evening 8th August, Crotta Minor hurlers  booked their place in  The Keane’s SuperValu  Kerry Minor Hurling Championship Final when they had 2-17 to 3-11 victory over a gallant Tralee Parnells side after extra time.
Congratulations, lads. Hard luck to Tralee Parnells.
Ballyduff defeated Lixnaw in other semi final in Dromakee also on Thursday evening on the final score of  Ballyduff 2-21 to Lixnaw 0-11.
Crotta play Ballyduff in the final in Austin Stack Park. On Friday, 16 August at 7.00p.m
Well done to Faye Savage and Darragh O Brien, who were this week’s Crotta U5 players of the week.

The North Kerry Under 15 ‘A’ Championship semi-final between Crotta O’Neill’s and Ballyduff scheduled for this Friday evening in Dromakee is not going ahead as there was no Referee available
Congrats to the U11 players of Crotta Gaa and Kilmoyley Hurling club who played a brilliant sporting game on Saturday morning 10th August at the sports field, dromakee as part of the county go-games. Thanks to all the players, mentors and parents

SYMPATHIES

Donal (Donie) Walsh of Cappa, Kilflynn, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday 3rd August 2024.
On behalf of the community, we offer our sincere sympathies to his sister-in-law Kitty, nieces Mai, Carmel & Claire and their families who adored him, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends
He was predeceased by his brothers Johnny & Ned, sisters Elizabeth (Lil) (Stack) & Nora (Slattery) and nephews Tom, John & Donal.
A gathering of family and friends  took place at the Day Chapel of St. Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney on Monday 5th August from 3.30 to 5 pm.
Requiem Mass for Donie was celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Kilflynn on Tuesday by Fr. Jerry Keane Abbeydorney P.P,  Fr. Mossie Brick Castleisland PP and Deacon Francis White, Interment afterwards in Kilfeighney Cemetery, Lixnaw.
Kilflynn Coursing Club led the guard of honour on Tuesday morning in Kilflynn village for one their founding members and Club President Donal (Donie) Walsh The ‘Boston’ prefix for decades along with his late brother Johnny, was known far and wide on the coursing fields and Donie was loved and respected highly, He had genuine friends from all corners of Ireland.
