FOREVER 19 – AIDAN’S FINAL JOURNEY
On a lovely Friday morning 15th May, Fozzy Forristal, Tom Owens, PJ Meehan were joined by the staff, pupils of St. Teresa’s National School, Kilflynn, Parents, Grandparents and community members who participated in a ‘Memory Mile’ in conjunction with Forever 19 – Aidan’s Final Journey They walked from the school to Crotta Gaa Grounds, where they walked/ran a lap of the Crotta pitch in memory of Aidan, who passed away on Wednesday, 6th August 2025 in Cork University Hospital.
We were honoured to have the brave Fozzy, PJ, Tom and members of the Forristal family accompanying us on this special occasion.
All donations made on Friday will go towards the €35,847 already raised for Brú Columbanus.
Well done to everyone who participated in and supported Friday’s event. To the Gardaí, Mary, and Aidan, thank you so much for your help today and for the kind words spoken.
In memory of Aidan, his father Fozzy and his two friends Tom Owens and PJ Meehan took on an incredible 400km run across Ireland to raise funds for Brú Columbanus, which provides accommodation for families of patients in University Hospital Cork.
The journey began on Saturday 9th May from Brú Columbanus in Cork, continues through Dungarvan, to Aidan’s Granny and Grandad’s house in Glenmore, a place he always loved to go and felt at home , then on to Ballingarry, home of two of the runners, before travelling through Kilmallock and Aidan’s home village of Lixnaw, finally finishing in Ardfert, his place of rest on Wednesday 13th May.
Well done! An unbelievable achievement for a worthy cause.
A journey of remembrance.
