HERITAGE WEEK

This year the Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society’s main Heritage Week event is a visit to Kilflynn.
On Saturday 16th  August John Flaherty and Richard McElligott will lead the Society in exploring the history and heritage of the district.

PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

The 3rd Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Saturday 23rd August. Please pray for the safety of all pilgrims who travel. Please note the date and consider taking part in this special time of prayer and reflection at Ireland’s National Marian Shrine. A bus will travel from the Pastoral Area. Cost €30 per person. Crotta O’Neills are delighted to welcome the Dillon Quirke Foundation to Kilflynn on Wednesday 6th August. Thank you to everyone that booked a screening. 45 children from our club and local area were screened.
Thank you also to Norah Falvey, Scoil Treasa Naofa for allowing us access to the school for this important screening
The Dillon Quirke Foundation relies on donations to provide free cardiac screening.

ALL IRELAND CAMOGIE FINAL

It wasn’t Kerry’s Seniors Day on Sunday 10th August In Croke Park, Dublin after they were beaten by Offaly in a well-fought The Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Final on the final scoreline of Kerry 0-11 to Offaly 0-14
Absolutely gutted for you all, and so proud of you all. You represented the county; your clubs and your families never gave up and will continue to be an inspiration to the younger generation watching you all on Sunday.
Well done to the amazing Kerry Senior Camogie players and their mentors, especially the Crotta ladies Aoife Behan, Roisin Quinn, Amy O’Sullivan and Jackie Hogan. Keep the heads-up girls we see you there again next year.

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn was the venue for the Crotta Hurling Club weekly lotto draw on Monday 11th August, The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 3,7,22 and 26. There was no winner of the 3,600 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Kieran O’Donovan, Knocknacaska, Kilflynn, Maureen Weir, Kilflynn and Lisha Clifford, Riverside Close, Abbeydorney
