SHEILA WINS THE CROTTA LOTTO JACKPOT

There was great demand for Crotta hurling club weekly lottery tickets at the weekend with everyone striving their best to win the Big Jackpot of 9,300.
Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn was the venue for the weekly lotto draw on Monday 13th May. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the Independent observer: Sonny Egan, Garrynagore, Lixnaw were 6,15,18 and 20.
There was one winner of the Jackpot. Congratulations to Sheila O’Sullivan, Crotta Cross, Lixnaw, who scooped the Big Lotto Jackpot.
Sheila and her Family are great supporter of the club and of the weekly lotto and bought her lucky ticket online www.clubforce.com, and was the toast of Kilflynn and beyond on Tuesday morning as the news of his big win circulated and she is looking forward to be presented with his cheque of €9,300.

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS

The Kerry Senior Hurling team will be training in the home of the County Senior Hurling Champions on Wednesday 15th May at 7:30pm at the sports field Dromakee Kilflynn.
Kerry captain Tomas O’Connor and his Crotta club mates Bill Keane and Rory Mahony along with their Kerry teammates will be put through their paces by County Manager Stephen Molumphy as they prepare for their upcoming Joe McDonagh fixtures.
We would strongly Encourage all young players to come along and see their county hero’s up close. The senior players will take time to meet the young players afterwards and will sign autographs and take any photos requested.
Please come along, this is a unique and fantastic opportunity for our young Hurlers & Camogie players

OLD CEMETERY PRAYER EVENING

We have a remembrance evening for all those buried in the old cemetery in Kilflynn village on Wednesday 12th June, at 7 30p.m joining us will be Fr. Jerry Keane and Rev Jim Stevens.
Please join us to recall and honour the memory of our families and neighbours and all that have gone before us, and those that may no longer have people to remember them.
This gathering will give everybody the opportunity, if they wish, to contribute to the upkeep of the cemetery. looking forward to seeing you, and others who may be interested in joining our prayer evening. There will be light refreshments afterwards in St Columba’s Centre. In the event of unsuitable weather conditions, the ceremony will be held indoors.

ACTIVE RETIRED GROUP

The Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Active Retired Group social meeting in the Abbeydorney Parish Hall Wednesday 15th May at 10.30am . I will have more information about our day trip to Valentia on the 22nd May. Deposit will be required to secure a seat for the trip. Our tour guide will be Donal O’Sullivan, who will point out the many historical sites along the way. We will be stopping in Caherciveen to view Daniel O’Connell’s church, on to Valentia Island and the slate quarry, the Transatlantic Cable Museum and The Skellig Experience Visitors centre. Kerry will play Offaly in Round 4 of the Joe McDonagh Cup on Sunday 19th May  at 1pm in Glenisk O’Connor Park Tullamore. The Crotta hurling club will be represented by Bill Keane, Tomas O’Connor and Rory Mahony on the Kerry side. Best wishes to the Kerry players and their mentors.

The Crotta senior hurlers had a busy schedule last week, in the County league div 1, on Friday evening 10th May they travelled to lerrig and had a four points victory over the home side on scoreline of Crotta 0-16 to Kilmoyley 1-09, on Sunday afternoon 12th May In Ballyheigue   they had a 3-20 to 0-16 victory over Ballyheigue in a backgame. Crotta are at home to Causeway on Friday evening 17th May in the final round of the county league at 7.00p.m
