KILFLYNN FIRST COMMUNION

Congratulations to the 12 boys and girls from St. Teresa’s National School, Kilflynn who received the sacrament of First Communion in St Mary’s Church, Kilflynn on Saturday 18th May. The celebrant at the edifying ceremony was Fr. Jerry Keane, Abbeydorney P.P. assisted by Rev. Francis White.

st Teresas Ns First communion 2024

It was a fabulous ceremony that was extremely well-prepared. The children did themselves, their families, and their school proud by the way they participated in the ceremony. The gratitude of all goes to their teacher Mrs Tina O’Connell, Mrs Nora Falvey (Principal), Fr. Keane and the pupil’s parents for all the work and effort they put into the ceremony and its preparation and who contributed to the First Communion Mass which will have a lasting memory for the 12 children. A special word of thanks to Fergus O’Sullivan, pianist, who accompanied Mrs. O Connell’s and the school choir. Their beautiful music and singing enriched the ceremony. Each child participated in some way in the ceremony and afterwards all the camera happy relatives took so many photos for the family album. The parents of the First class children and the Parents Association hosted all the Communicans and their families in St. Columba centre afterwards for an extra special treat! They decorated the centre with banners and balloons, served tea, coffee and a world of sandwiches, cakes and nibbles for all. The children were spoiled with sweets and treats and a special frame to take photos to remember their day. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children and their families to spend some time all together after the excitement of receiving the Sacrament before heading off for their celebrations. Huge thanks to all the organisers for the fantastic party.
The children who received their Communion/blessing were Connor England, Annabel Galvin, Dylan Ryan, Aleyah Barry, Eoghan Cunningham, Daithi Lynch, Jake McAuliffe, Sean Twomey, Darragh Sheehan, Finn McElligott, Brogan Mullins and Sophie-Mai Herbert.
To all involved we say ‘Well done’. May the Lord bless them and their families.
