On Friday May 23rd, Kilflynn NS will be ‘Gone to the Dogs’ and why not join us at Tralee Kingdom Greyhound Track, Tralee for what promises to be a great, fun-filled night for all the family.

Well, we have bouncy castles, we have face painting, we have music and of course not to mention the GREYHOUNDS- it’s a night not to be missed!!
What are we fundraising for?
All funds go towards upgrading our school playground facilities and Outdoor Classroom Project.

HOLY WELL MASS

The Annual Mass was celebrated at Tobar Flainn, Kilflynn on Thursday evening 1st May. And was celebrated by Fr.Jerry Keane Abbeydorney P.P . A nice sizable crowd were in attendance and The Kilflynn Church Choir once again provided the beautiful Hymns for the occasion. Fr. Keane thanked those who coastally worked behind the scenes to maintain the surroundings in such excellent conditions   May is a special month dedicated to Our Lady – we begin the month with this special celebration at the Well.

BASKETBALL

A big second half performance saw Tralee Magic turn a six-point deficit into an eight-point victory (61-53) over East Cavan Eagles when the two sides locked horns in the Ken Clarke Under 20 Women’s National Cup Final in the National Basketball Arena on Monday 5th May.  Congratulations and well done to Priya O’Donovan (8), Kilflynn and her Tralee Magic teammates. Priya had an excellent game scoring 8 important points.

CROTTA LOTTO GAA RESULTS

Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn was the venue for the Crotta Hurling Club weekly lotto draw on Monday 5th May, The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Sonny Egan, Lixnaw were 1,5,15 and 26. There was no winner of the 2,200 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: John Honan, Dublin C/o Foley’s Shop, Lixnaw, Catriona Walsh, Toureen, Kilflynn  and John Joe O’Sullivan, Castletown, Kilflynn. The next draw will take place in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn on Monday night 12th  May at 10.30p.m with a €2,300 Jackpot.

CROTTA GAA

The Kingdom beat Clare 4-20 to 0-21 in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney and were crowned Munster Football Senior Champions. Congratulations and well done to St. Senan’s and Crotta player Cillian Trant who was a member of the victorious panel.
County Senior Hurling League Div 2 Round 2  at the sports field, Dromakee, Kilflynn on Tuesday 29th April
Full time Score Crotta 5-15 to Lixnaw 2-16, despite being behind at halftime by 1-11 to 1-05.
Well-done to 14 players who togged out Eoin Lynch, Ryan Holihan, Padraig Shanahan, Donnacha Sayers, Dara Nolan, Diarmuid O’Driscoll Sean O’Donoghue, Oisín Healy, Jack Ryan, Gavin Parker, Eoin Relihan, Cillian Hussey, Declan O’Donoghue and Mark Sheehan.
Well done to all the boys and girls who took part at the Crotta U6 training session, on  Sunday morning 4th May at the sports field, Dromakee.
Congratulations to Sadhbh McGuckim and Charlie Kelly, who were this week’s U6 players of the week.
It was time for the U8 hurlers to shine on Monday evening 5th May when Crotta hosted Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club Lixnaw GAA and Kilmoyley Hurling club in a sun drenched Dromakee.
The girls & boys from all four clubs were amazing and played brilliantly in their 4 games in front of a very supportive crowd of moms & dads.
Thanks a million to all players and mentors for helping organise the day’s hurling for the kids.
