LIDL NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION 1 FINAL

Kerry 4-14, Armagh 0-11
Kerry secured a record 13th Lidl National Football League Division 1 crown with a comprehensive victory over Armagh at Croke Park on Saturday evening. Congratulations to the Kerry players and their mentor’s, especially, Niamh Quinn, Crotta, who came on in the 2nd half, and acquitted herself really well. It was extremely proud day  for the Kerry Ladies board and all at Abbeydorney Ladies club with 3 of their players, Ciara McCarthy, Niamh Quinn & Melanie Higgins winning the 2025 National League Final with Kerry. Well done girls, on what was an extremely tough and emotional day for all of you with the loss of a talented teammate & sports colleague, Lillie Gaynor, Kilmoyley who passed away peacefully at home.  May her beautiful and gentle soul rest in peace.

CARMEL WINS THE CROTTA LOTTO JACKPOT

There was great demand for Crotta hurling club weekly lottery tickets at the weekend with everyone striving their best to win the Jackpot of 2,600.
Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn was the venue for the weekly lotto draw on Monday 14th April. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the Independent observer:  Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 1,6,15 and 23.
There was one winner of the Jackpot. Congratulations to Carmel Chawke, Lismore, Tralee, who scooped the Big Lotto Jackpot.
Carmel and her Family are great supporter of the club and of the weekly lotto and bought her lucky ticket from Club ticket seller, her grandson, Sean McGrath, Kilflynn and was the toast of Kilflynn and beyond on Tuesday morning as the news of his big win circulated and she is looking forward to be presented with her cheque of €2,600.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw:
Brendan Twomey, Crotta Cross, Lixnaw, Maureen Weir, Castletown, Kilflynn and Stephanie Sheehan, Dunmore East, Waterford. The next draw will take place in Herbert’s Bar Kilflynn on Monday night 21st April at 10.30p.m with a €2,000 Jackpot.

The County Senior Hurling League Div 1 Round 4 Game between Crotta and Kilmoyley, was  postponed due to a sudden bereavement in Kilmoyley on  Friday 11th April,
The Crotta GAA and wider GAA community extend our sincere condolences and Sympathies to family and friends of Lillie Gaynor, Kilmoyley. May Lillie’s gentle soul rest in peace.
