NATIONAL HOLY WELLS DAY – Sunday 13th June:

Our local spaces are sacred spaces where we encounter God. We have become more mindful of this during the past months as we wandered around our village or townland, exploring places and spaces anew. National Holy Wells Day invites you to • become aware of how precious water is, • visit a local Holy Well and pray for the protection of water, • plan with others how you can protect the water in your area.

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS

CARLOW 3-25 TO KERRY 0-14

Carlow proved far too strong for a depleted Kerry side in this dead-rubber Allianz Hurling League 2A final round game at Netwatch Cullen Park on Sunday 13th June.
Kerry only had five of the side on duty that had won the Joe McDonagh Cup clash between the two teams last year in Tralee and it showed, as this was evidently a mismatch from the opening seconds.
The Crotta hurling club was well represented by Shane Nolan and Donal Hunt who both came as a subs in the second half.  Kerry will face Down in two weeks’ time in the Joe McDonagh Cup.

ST. MARY’S CHURCH, KILFLYNN

Masses and Intention for the week in St. Mary’s Church
Wednesday 16th June at 11.00 a.m. Joseph & Mary O’Neill,
Saturday 19th June at 6.00 p.m.
Parish Office can be contacted by phone 066 4018996 Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. or by email: abbeydorney@dioceseofkerry.ie
Masses from St. Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney are streamed live on   www.dioceseofkerry.ie,  on Sunday at 10 a.m.  Go to Abbeydorney Parish and click on watch live Mass.
Weekend Masses: The practice of having to book for weekend Masses is no longer being followed in our two churches. Instead, we are doing as many other parishes are doing – operating on ‘First come, first served basis.’ Judging by what has happened since the return to having all Masses open to the public, we should not find ourselves having to turn away people, because of having more than the number allowed. In Abbeydorney the number is 100 made up ‘2 pods of 50’ while Kilflynn can accommodate up to 70.

THANKS

Sightsavers International: I wish to thank all those who supported this very worthy cause in recent months, so that it was possible during this past week to send the amount of €400 towards the good work being done by the organization. Donations, big and small always welcome. (Who, among does not value the gift of sight!). Fr. Denis O’Mahony
