KILFLYNN CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
After a break of three years, the Kilflynn Cancer Support Group table quiz returned on Wednesday, December 28th last. The quiz was again a huge success with thirty-three tables competing, raising €2820 for our benefiting charities, Recovery Haven, Kerry Hospice and Kerry Cancer Support.
On the night, Dermot Crowley, Recovery Haven, and Breda Dyland, Kerry Cancer Support, thanked the organisers and competitors for their continued support. The standard of answering was very high and the winning team, Bridget, Thomas, Patrick and Margaret Quille, Muireann O’Shea, Cathal Byrne and Catherine Cronin achieved a full house, eighty points out of eighty. They were closely followed by the Barry and Nicholson families.
The organisers would like to thank Parker’s Pub and Herbert’s Bar for hosting the event, and John McElligott for organising the sound system. Thanks again to Conor and Daragh Breen for their musical contribution, and to all those who helped in the preparation and running of the quiz. Special thanks to Joe McAuliffe, Margaret and John Mahony and Caroline and Frank Lynch for their administrative skills. Thanks to the numerous businesses, families and individuals who donated items for raffles and prizes. However, the quiz could not have been such a success without the continued support of the people of Kilflynn, Abbeydorney and surrounding parishes, who turned up on the night and gave so generously. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The quiz night again exceeded all expectations and we look forward to the next edition at Christmas 2023. The money raised on the night will, this week, be presented to the three charities, each receiving €940.
