Our multi terrain Event takes in all the high points of Kilflynn breath-taking views. A stunning half marathon and 10k that starts and finishes in Kilflynn village taking in all that Kilflynn has to offer from stunning views to hidden trails and pathways

ABBEYDORNEY/KILFLYNN

Care Group held their Christmas Party in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, on Sunday 15th January.  A great crowd attended. Thanks to Ballyroe for serving a beautiful meal. Thanks to Ann Maire for a great afternoon of dancing, with the floor full all afternoon.  Special thanks to all who gave us spot prizes which made the day most enjoyable.

KERRY HURLING NEWS

𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧
Gavin Dooley has been nominated by Causeway, 2022 County Champions, as the Kerry Senior Hurling Captain for 2023. Gavin’s nomination was ratified at Monday night’s (16th January) meeting of the County Board. Congratulations Gavin – wishing you and all the team the very best of luck this season.
𝐔𝟐𝟎 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧
Sean McGrath has been nominated by the Crotta hurling, 2022 County u-21 Champions, as the Kerry 2023 U20 Hurling captain, and was also ratified at the County board meeting on Monday night. Congratulations Sean – wishing you and all the team the very best of luck this season.
𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫
Finally at Monday evening’s meeting of the County Board, Jerome O’Sullivan, Crotta O’Neill’s, was ratified as the Kerry Minor Hurling Manager. Congratulations Jerome – wishing you and all the team and management the very best of luck this season.

SPLIT THE BUCKET

The next draw for the Kilflynn Community Together “Split the Bucket” will take place Saturday, 28th January in Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn @ 10:00pm. Get your entries in (as many as you like) before Saturday night 28th January! It could be your lucky Night! We have buckets at various businesses around Kilflynn: Parker’s Pub, Herbert’s Bar and Zam Zam Kebab.

NORTH KERRY HURLING AWARDS NIGHT

The North Kerry Hurling Board Annual Awards presentations for 2022 were held at Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Friday 20th January. Guest speaker on the night was Kerry senior hurling manager Stephen Molumphy. The Hall of Fame Award was presented to Tom Lawlor of Ballyheigue in recognition of a lifetime of service and dedication to the GAA.
Players received the Awards for their displays in the various North Kerry Hurling Championship Finals. Awards were presented to the following Crotta players Under 14 – CIllian Hurley (Player of the Match u-14 “A” Final) & Senior – Jordan Conway (Player of the Match Senior “A” Final).
Congratulations and well done to all the award winners and panels of players each represented on Friday night from every club

CROTTA HURLING CLUB SOCIAL

The Crotta Gaa Hurling Club  Social will take place on Saturday night 18th February at Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee.Music by Martin Williams followed by Disco. Tickets @ €35 are available from Parker’s Pub, Herbert’s Bar and Shop and from Chairman Paddy Weir.

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS

Kerry hosts All Ireland Champions, Limerick in Group B Round 3 of the 2023 Co-Op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League in Austin Stack Park, on Sunday 22nd January. Final score Kerry 0-9 Limerick 0-25.
The Crotta hurling club was represented on the Kerry team by Jordan Conway (wing forward) Declan O’Donoghue, Cillian Trant and Sean Weir came on as subs.

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Monday 23rd January at Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn.
The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 2,15,17 and 23. There was no winner of the 2,500 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Helen Maunsell, Cahernead, Abbeydorney, Aidan Scanlon, Jeanies View, Tonevane, Tralee and Brian Mc Kenna, Ballylahive, Abbeydorney
