KILFLYNN ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE 2025

Kilflynn Community Together organising committee look forward to welcoming you to Kilflynn for the 2025 St Patrick’s Day festival Parade Monday 17th March.
We would appreciate it if all floats and participating groups could gather at Kilflynn NS at 3:00pm with the parade due to commence at 4:00pm.
There will be music to entertain the crowd from the parade stage in the centre of the village from 3:45pm.
Once again There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes for best floats/participating groups.
The parade will be followed with a presentation of Medals and goody bags for all participating children in the Columba’s centre.
We look forward to seeing you all and hope you all have a wonderful day.

ACTIVE RETIRED GROUP

KEVIN AND CAL WINS THE CROTTA LOTTO JACKPOT

There was great demand for Crotta hurling club weekly lottery tickets at the weekend with everyone striving their best to win the Big Jackpot of 6,000.
Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn was the venue for the weekly lotto draw on Monday 24th February. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the Independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 4,11,13 and 19.
There were Two winners of the Jackpot.
Congratulations to Kevin Galvin Snr, Ballyrehan, Lixnaw and Cal Glavin, Laccamore, Abbeydorney, who scooped the Big Lotto Jackpot.
Kevin and Cal are great supporters of the club and of the weekly lotto and bought their lucky ticket at Herbert’s Bar, and were the toast of Kilflynn and beyond on Tuesday morning as the news of his big win circulated and they are looking forward to being presented with their cheques.

CROTTA GAA

The Kerry Senior hurlers were defeated by Donegal in the National league div 2 tie by four point on the final score of 5-15 to 3-16 at a blustery O’Donnell Park, Donegal on Sunday 23rd February. Kerry had led by 1-10 to 2-01 at the break, but three second half Donegal goals proved the key. The Crotta Hurling Club was represented by Sean McGrath (wing back), Rory Mahony Mid field) and Shane Nolan (Full Forward).
Kerry 4-5 Tyrone 1-7
GOALS made the difference as Kerry claimed their third Lidl NFL victory on the spin with a deserved victory over a gutsy Tyrone team at the Tyrone GAA Centre of Excellence in Garvaghey, Tyrone on Sunday 23rd February. Niamh Quinn, Crotta came on as sub in the second half.
The Kerry Senior Camogie team travelled to Birr, Offaly and were defeated by the local side in their first game of the season in the national league div 2 tie on the  Full time score
Offaly 1-17 Kerry 0-11
Hard luck to the team and management. The Crotta hurling club was represented by Aoife Behan, Jackie Hogan and Amy O’Sullivan.
