KILFLYNN ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE 2026

Kilflynn Community Together organising committee look forward to welcoming you to Kilflynn for the 2026 St Patrick’s Day festival Parade Tuesday 17th March.
We would appreciate it if all floats and participating groups could gather at Kilflynn NS at 3:00pm with the parade due to commence at 4:00pm.
There will be music to entertain the crowd from the parade stage in the centre of the village from 3:45pm.
Once again There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes for best floats/participating groups.
The parade will be followed with a presentation of Medals and goody bags for all participating children in the Columba’s centre.
This year’s Grand Marshal will be named nearer to The Day.
We look forward to seeing you all and hope you all have a wonderful day.

CONFIRMATION

Forty children from Abbeydorney NS, Kilahan NS and Kilflynn NS received the Sacrament of Confirmation in St Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney, from the Bishop of Kerry, Rev Bishop Ray Browne, who was assisted by Fr. Jerry Keane Abbeydorney P.P, Fr. Nicholas Flynn. Diocesan Secretary, Fr. Pat Crean Lynch, Fr. Leane, Fr. Gerard Finucane and Deacon Francis White, Kilflynn on Wednesday 25th February in St. Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney. After the beautiful ceremony the bishop posed for photographs with the children and their families.
The boys and girls who received the Sacrament from St Teresa’s National School were Tom Relihan, Laura Breen, Holly Slattery, Michael Og Lynch, Millie Lynch, Dylan McElligott, Caoimhe Sheehy, Cody McKenna, Elsie Hext, Niamh O’ Brien, JJ Whyte, Charlotte Casey, Lilymai O’Sullivan, Ronan Galvin, Zoe McElligott and Charlie Ryan.
Congratulations to the children from St Teresa’s National School, who received the Sacrament of Confirmation, also the parents and their teacher, Sinead Hogan who had the children well prepared for their big day. Thanks also to Ann Mahony and The Abbeydorney School choir for the beautiful music and singing.

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn was the venue for the Crotta Hurling Club weekly lotto draw on Monday 2nd March, The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 14,17,22 and 31. There was no winner of the 6,500 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Joanne Hayes, Abbeydorney, Matt Sweetman, O’Sullivan Cycles, Listowel and Liz Nicholson, Castletown, Kilflynn.
The next draw will take place in Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn on Monday night 9th March at 10.30p.m with a €6,600 Jackpot.

Congratulations to CBS The Green, Tralee footballers and their mentors, especially our players Cillian Hurley and Ryan Hurley who help the Tralee side to book their place in the Hogan Cup final in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s Day where they will face Mullingar’s Coláiste Mhuire who progressed after an extra-time battle in the other semi-final.

Full -Time in the 2026 Allianz Football League, Division 1 Round 5, Kerry 1-18 to Monoghan 0-07 in Fitzgerald Stadium on Sunday 1st March. Congratulations to the Kerry players and their mentors, especially the Crotta and St. Senan player Cillian Trant

Lidl Ladies National Football League div result  Kerry 1-09 to Galway 1-11 at Austin Stack Park, Tralee on Sunday 1st  March  Niamh Quinn, Crotta   was a member of  the Kerry side.
