CLOTHING DRIVE

St. Teresa’s National School, Kilflynn are holding a clothing recycling drive fundraising.
Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, shoes, bed linen, curtains, towels, bags, belts and soft toys. Please Donate only clean dry and rewardable clothing as we cannot accept wet, dirty or damaged clothes or goods. No Duvets. Drop your bags to the Crotta Hurling Club house, Dromakee, Kilflynn from Tuesday 25th January to Sunday 27th February between the following hours 8.00a.m to 9.00p.m. 7 days a week. Thank you for your support and taking the time and effort to support our fundraising drive.

Corn Ui Mhuiri Final 2022.

The 2022 Corn Ui Mhuiri final will take place on Saturday 12th February at 1pm in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. Tralee CBS play St Brendan’s College. We wish the best of luck to the Tralee C.BS (The Green) footballers and their management, especially The Crotta players Sean McGrath, Donnacha Sayers and Gavin Parker.

KERRY MINOR CAMOGIE

Hard Luck to the Kerry Minor Camogie team who were narrowly beaten by a point on their first outing this year on Sunday 6th February in the Tesco Minor Championship- B Shield at St.Ryanaghs, Banagher, Co. Offaly on the final score line of Kerry 2-07 to Down 2-08
Half time in Banagher was – Kerry 1-05 Down 2-06.
The Crotta Hurling club was represented by Róisín Quinn Fullback on the Kerry team, Well done to the girls and management

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS

In the opening game of Allianz Hurling League Roinn 2A, The Kerry Hurlers went down to Westmeath by six points on a final score line of Westmeath 3.15 Kerry 1.15 On Sunday, 6th February at TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar. The Crotta Hurling Club was represented by Sean Weir (Corner Back), Shane Nolan Wing Forward (0-01), Jordan Conway came on a sub and James Sheehan was a member of the panel. Kerry are at home to Kildare in the next round on Sunday 13th February at 2.00pm in Austin Stack Park, Tralee
We wish the best of luck to the Kerry hurlers and their management and a speedy recovery to Jordon Conway who went off injured on Sunday.

3 BUCKS LIFT LIVE IN PARKER’S PUB

With the lifting of restrictions in Ireland on Saturday 22nd January we are absolutely thrilled to announce that the rescheduled , 3 Bucks Left whirlwind live show in  Parker’s Pub & Beer Garden, Kilflynn will take place on Saturday 5th March 2022. Doors open at 7.00p.m Show Starts at 8.00p.m Tickets for the rescheduled show are still valid, whilst there is still a limited number of tickets available at €15 per ticket from Parker’s Pub, quick before they’re gone.

THE WEEKLY DART’S TOURNAMENT

The weekly Darts Double Tournament in Parker’s Lounge Bar, on Saturday night 5th February John Leahy and Diarmuid Brennan defeated Greg Leahy and Paddy Weir in the final. The winners received a leg of lamb each. Thanks to the darts players who showed up on time last Saturday night and thanks to Sarah Redmond for supervising the tournament.  The Next Darts Doubles tournament on Saturday night 12th February in Parker’s Pub.
9.30p.m. All names in for 9.15p.m Sharp. The winners of the weekly darts will receive a leg of lamb each.

CAMOGIE

Kerry 0-1 Antrim 9-19
It was a tough day at John Mitchells Gaa pitch, Tralee on Sunday 6th February in the opening round of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League for Kerry who felt the full effect of having a club involved in the All-Ireland club series as Kerry manager Ian Brick handed out 8 starting debuts to fill the gaps left with Clanmaurice players rested ahead of their All-Ireland Club semi-final in two weeks’ time.
Antrim fielding ten of their All-Ireland Intermediate winning team from last September were much the sharper team and first half goals by Meave Laverty and Roisin McCormick set the visitors up to a 2-10 to 0-1 half point lead. Amy O’ Sullivan, raising a white flag for Kerry.
In the second period Antrim powered on as the goals arrived strong in the final quarter with the saffron finding the net 4 times in the final ten minutes to put bleak look on the score board.
Kerry will face Tipperary in 2 weeks’ time away.

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Monday 7th February at Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn
The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 1, 18,23 and 31.
There was no winner of the 7,300 Jackpot. Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw:
