ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

Kilflynn Community Together would like to thank all our sponsors of our St Patrick’s day parade, without whom the parade would not be able to take place. Thanks also goes to the organising committee, stewards, volunteers, musicians and our MC Mr Fergus O’Sullivan and Mr. Clive Putman who was sound engineer for the day. We would also like to thank all our local community groups for participating in the parade. The colour and imagination were spectacular-even in the rain. Mr Tom McElligott, Kilflynn village, was our 2023 Grand Marshall. But most importantly, all the participants really appreciated the support from all the wonderful spectators.

KERRY SENIOR HURLERS

The Kerry senior hurlers had a home game to Down on Sunday 19th March in the Allianz National League Div 2A Round 5 and had a one-point victoryKerry 1-20 to Down 1-19. The manner in which the victory over Down was achieved too, coming from behind in the last quarter, with some sensational scores, and a brilliant goal from Jordan Conway, will provide a real shot in the arm for this bunch of hurlers.
While far from a vintage display in the round, the way the Kingdom rounded out that game will give them huge encouragement ahead of next weekend’s trip to Tullamore to face Offaly in the semi-final. The home side led by 0-12 to 0-9 at the interval break. The Crotta Hurling club was represented by Cillian Trant and Jordan Conway (1-02) who both came on as subs, Sean Weir was also a member of the Kerry panel.
Kerry travel to Glenisk O’Connor Park, Offaly for the 2023 Allianz Hurling League Division 2A Semi-Final against Offaly on Saturday 25th March at 2.00p.m Best wishes to the Kerry players and their management.
