KERRY SENIOR HURLERS

Joe McDonagh Cup Rd 3: Kerry 2-28 Offaly 4-23
Offaly had to withstand a late Kerry rally to defeat the Kingdom and more than likely end their interest in this year’s Joe McDonagh Cup after a gripping contest at the Austin Stack Park on Saturday 14th May. The fate of the tie in Tralee ebbed and flowed until Offaly finally limped over the line by just a single point.
It was heartbreak for this Kerry side who played one of their best games against a team who had played Division One hurling this season. Hard luck to the Kerry players and their management especially the Crotta players Sean Weir (Cornerback) and Jordan Conway came on as a sub at half time and scored 0-03. Kerry are away to Antrim on Saturday 21st May.Best of luck to the Kerry players and their management, especially the Crotta hurlers.

CONGRATULATIONS

to the boys and girls who received their First Holy Communion over these two past weekends. The children in Kilflynn had their First Communion Mass a week ago on Saturday 7th, while the children from Abbeydorney and Killahan had their First Communion Mass on Saturday 14th. I am sure all parishioners will join with me in expressing the hope that the parents will ensure that they will bring their children, as often as possible, to be part of the Parish Community that comes together each weekend in our two churches. Sincere thanks to those, who gave of their time to do a big clean-up in preparation for the First Communion Masses. (Fr.) Denis O’Mahony
