kerry hurlers beat tipperary

CONGRATULATIONS

It was a weekend of celebrations on the Hurling fields. Last Saturday 8th January at Austin Stack’s Park, Tralee the Kerry Senior Hurlers had a first ever competitive win over Tipperary in the Co-op Superstores Munster Hurling League. The Final Score was Kerry 0-17 to Tipperary 0-14. The Crotta Hurling Club was well represented on historic Kerry team By Stalwarts Sean Weir (Wing Back), Shane Nolan (Wing Forward) 0-01f and James Sheehan (Corner Forward) who was making his Kerry Senior debut, and what a day for the former Crotta and Kerry minor captain to commence his senior career with a memorably victory. A proud day for his Family, Club and County. Congratulations to the Three Crotta players and their teammates. It was a great start to the new hurling season and the new Kerry management Kerry play All Ireland champions, Limerick in the Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling Cup Semi Final on Sunday 16th January at 2pm in the TUS Gaelic Grounds (note change of date and time).. We wish the best of luck to the Kerry hurlers and their management
Meanwhile On Sunday 9th January at TUS Gaelic Grounds Limerick,  Kilmoyley Senior Hurlers became the first Kerry Club to win a Munster Intermediate title when they had a 0-24 to 0-21 victory over Cork Champions, Courcey Rovers after Extra time. A Fantastic achievement by the Lerrig men. CAMOGIE

2020 All-Ireland Camogie Junior Club Final
Clanmaurice’s brave bid just come up short against Raharney
CLANMAURICE 0- 7 RAHARNEY (WESTMEATH) 1-7
Brave Clanmaurice finally succumbed, in what turned out to be a numbers game against an excellent Raharney side that came out on top in this competitive 2020 All-Ireland Junior Camogie Club Championship Final played at Templetuohy on Sunday 9th January.
But Clanmaurice can hold their heads up high as they once again did themselves proud and in fact getting to the final with just 15 players was a victory for the spirit and never say die attitude of this team. They had only 14 on duty for the semi-final and I don’t think it has ever happened in any sport that their team sheet in an All-Ireland Final would just contain 15 names and no subs! It is probably a stat that will never be repeated but it shows the character and togetherness of these fifteen warriors along with Liz Houlihan who was with the Fab 15 all the way and could well have given birth on a Camogie sideline, but we wish Liz all the best when the baby arrives next month.
Commiserations to Clanmaurice players and their management especially the Crotta players Aoife Behan (Wing forward) and Jackie Hogan Full forward (0-5, 2f, 1’45’).
There is no rest for the ladies as they play Clooney Quinn Co. Clare, in the Munster Junior Club Semi Final 2021 on Saturday 15th January at 1.00p.m in the Crotta Sportsfield, Dromakee, Kilflynn.  We wis the players and the management the best of luck.  Please come out and show your support for this great bunch of ladies
