KILFLYNN ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE 2024

Kilflynn Community Together organising committee look forward to welcoming you to Kilflynn for the 2024 St Patrick’s Day festival Parade.
We would appreciate it if all floats and participating groups could gather at Kilflynn NS at 3:00pm with the parade due to commence at 4:00pm.
The Crotta Senior hurling squad, the reigning County Hurling Champions, will lead the parade as our 2024 Grand Marshalls.
Local musicians will entertain the crowd from the parade stage in the centre of the village from 3:45pm.
Mr Fergus O’Sullivan will be MC for the day.
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes for best floats/participating groups.
There will be a presentation of Medals and goody bags for all participating children in the Columba’s centre after the parade.
We look forward to seeing you all and hope you all have a wonderful day.

KILFLYNN DRAMA GROUP

Kilflynn Drama Group are back with the hilarious ‘the two loves of Gabriel Foley’, a play by Jimmy Keary. The play tells the story of Gabriel Foley, a middle-aged bachelor farmer, who has been unlucky in love and lives with his mother. In a last-ditch effort to find love, and show his mother that he is perfectly capable of finding a woman, he joins a ‘town’ drama group. Meanwhile his housekeeper has been in love with him for years but he is too blind to notice. Will Gabriel find love in his new drama group or see what has been in front of him all along before it is too late? You will have to wait and see! Dates: 29th, 30th Mar, 3rd, 5th, 6th April in St Columbus Centre, Kilflynn

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Monday night 11th March, at Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 10,13,22 and 28. There was no winner of the 8,400 Jackpot. Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Catherine Twomey, Crotta Cross, Lixnaw, Nick Shanahan,  Irrebeg, Lixnaw,and Darragh Kennelly, Rathea, Listowel
The next draw will take place in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn on Monday night 18th March at 10.30p.m with a €8,500 Jackpot.

CROTTA SENIOR HURLERS

The Crotta Senior hurlers commenced their 2024 season with a victory over Lixnaw in the County Senior Hurling League Div 1 at the sports field, dromakee on Sunday 10th March on the scoreline of Crotta 0-17 to 0-13. Crotta are away to Abbeydorney on Wednesday evening 13th March in the North Kerry League at 7.30p.m and play Ballyduff  in round 2 of the County league on Saturday 16th March.  Check on the Crotta Social media pages or club officers re time of the game.

KILFLYNN CITY RUNNING GROUP

Very National Senior Camogie League Division 1B result
Antrim 2 – 15 Kerry 0 – 11. The Crotta players  on the Kerry side were Aoife Behan, Niamh Quinn Jackie Hogan and Amy O’Sullivan
Hard luck to the Kerry minors who lost out to Kildare on Sunday 10th March in the Minor B All Ireland Round 2. Kerry 7pts to Kildare 1-13. The Crotta club was represented by Rosin Quinn. Kerry now faces Carlow in rd.3 in two weeks’ time

 KERRY SENIOR HURLERS

The Kingdom Senior Hurlers made the journey to Manguard Park, Kildare on Saturday 9th March where they play the home side in the Allianz hurling Division 2A clash and were defeated.
Kildare 1 – 21 Kerry 1 – 14
The Crotta Hurling Club was represented by Thomas O’Connor, Capt. and Bill Keane on the Kerry side. Kerry travel to Laois Hire O’Moore Park, Portlaoise to play Laois in Round 5 of the 2024 Allianz Hurling League Division 2A at 2.00p.m best wishes to the Kerry players and their management.
