On passing through the village of Kilflynn one has to commend the beautiful well-maintained condition of the graveyard. A big thank you to Lix Abbey Community group L.T.D staff and all involved.

KILFLYNN AREA DEVELOPMENT CLG

At the recent Annual general meeting of the Kilflynn Area Development CLG, Niamh Abeyta has taken the role as Chairperson. The committee welcomes new members on board and a special word of gratitude to Michael Neenan for his work as he steps down from his chairperson position.

BEREAVEMENTS

On behalf of the community, we offer our sincere sympathy to Mark Corkery Knocknacaska, Kilflynn, Susan Hickey, Knockbrack, Kilflynn and Sandra Cronin, Irrebeg, Lixnaw, their Families, relatives and friends on the death of their Sister Emma Fitzgerald (nee Corkery) of Clashlehane Meadows, Ballinorig and formally of Caheranne Village, Ballyvelly, Tralee and Kilmore, Ballyduff in the Palliative Care Unit, Kerry University Hospital, on 17th July.
Sincere sympathies to the family, relatives of the late Kay (Catherine) McDonnell nee Byrne of Clogherbrien, Tralee, and formerly Dromakee, Kilflynn, and Zimbabwe in the Bon Secours, Tralee on 17th July.
The death occurred of John Quilter of Newry, London and formerly Kilflynn, peacefully, in the gentle care of Willow Brooke Care Centre, Castleisland on 15th July, we offer our sincere sympathies to his brothers Thomas, Gerald, to his sisters Noreen, Mary, Margaret, Bridie and Kathleen, his nephews and nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, brothers-in-law Leo and Dennis, sister-in-law Toni, cousins and kind friends. May they rest in peace.

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Monday 25th July at Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn.
The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 1, 10, 21 and 23.
There was no winner of the 2,400 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Walsh’s Bar, Glenoe, Listowel, Tom Mc Elligott (Snr), Castletown, Kilflynn and Aidan Behan, Abbeydorney
The next draw will take place in Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn on Monday 1st August at 10.30p.m with a €2,500 Jackpot.

HURLING CUL CAMP 2022

Registration is now open for the 2022 Kellogg’s G.A.A. Cúl Camps. They are open to primary school boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13, Mondays to Fridays, 10.00a.m. – 2.00p.m. dates are as follows:
Crotta O’Neill’s (1 – 5 August). Each participating child will receive 1 Cúl Camp Kit pack consisting of a Backpack, Jersey and a Zip Top. The cost is €75 per child with reductions for additional members of families.
