Autumn Outing to 7 Hogs, Castlegregory on Sunday 12th October. Bus leaving Abbeydorney 12.15, Kilflynn 12.30. Lunch at 2 o’clock.

ACTIVE RETIRED GROUP

County Under 21 Hurling Championship fixture. Crotta are away to Ballyduff on Sunday 12th October at 12 noon. Best wishes to Ballyduff players and their mentors.

SCÓR NA NÓG

The Co. Final of Scór na Nóg will take place on Sunday November 2nd. Anyone interested in taking part, please contact Tom Breen on (087) 274 8555 before Friday October 24th.

KILFLYNN RUNNING AND WALKING CLUB:

As our club’s new financial/membership year started on Wednesday 1st October our committee wishes to acknowledge the success of our club over the past year:
Many of our club members participated in events throughout the year such as the Limerick Marathon, Dingle Marathon, The Stacks HM & 10k, Tralee Corporate 5k/10k, BTR event etc. Well done everyone.  The sense of team spirit in our club is fantastic with everybody supporting & encouraging each other
Some members of our club completed their first marathon. What an amazing achievement
We had a successful Couch to 5K with the 5k run taking place on St. Stephen’s Day.
Noreen, Joanne, Liz & Michelle ran their first 5k. They took part in many 5k events throughout the year with Louise, Elaine, Josie & Karen
Well done Damien Casey, Pa, Francis, Yvonne. Justin, Shane, Fergus, John, Brendan, Loretto & Terry for completing the tough Stacks Mountain Half Mountain
Superwoman Loretto completed the Kerry Way Ultra Nite
Claire came 2nd in the Stacks Mountain 10k
Mary Dowling, Jimmy, Diarmuid, Damien Cashel, Maurice, Tricia, Dolores, Eamonn, Carol, Cyril, Joe, Lorraine, Sinead & Austin took part in the Stacks Mountain 10k along with many other members of our club
We welcomed new members Liz, Caroline, Sinead & Austin to our running group & Maureen & Kate to our walking group.
We had a very successful Stacks Mountain Half Marathon & 10k event with 250 registrants. What an amazing day for our club & local community. The atmosphere was electric with lots of positive feedback from participants about the event, the new 10k route & the post-race celebration in Parkers. We donated 5,575-euro profits to 3 local beneficiaries: Kilflynn National School, Crotta ONeills & Abbeykillix Camogie Club. The beneficiaries were very appreciative of our club’s donation.
We participated in Darkness into Light with money raised donated to Pieta House.
Our club has raised a total of 60,000 euro for local charities & organisations since its formation in 2020.
Our running & walking groups had monthly outings which were enjoyed by all to Fenit, Ballyseedy Woods, The Wetlands etc.
Some members of our club are currently unable to join our weekly walks or runs. Denise & Mary Doody, we miss ye & hope ye can join us again soon

As the club’s financial year ends on 30th Sept, we will circulate the club’s income & expenditure account in the coming weeks.
The club’s membership renewal will take place in the St Columba’s Centre on Friday 10th October from 7pm to 8pm. The registration fee is 50 euro, which is the same as last year.
We look forward to yet another amazing year at Kilflynn City Running and Walking Club

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn was the venue for the Crotta Hurling Club weekly lotto draw on Monday 6th October, The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 6,18,20 and 31. There was no winner of the 4,400 Jackpot.
Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw:

KILFLYNN BABY AND TODDLER GROUP

Kilflynn Baby And Toddler Group is back every Thursday morning from 10am until 11:30am in the Community Centre in Kilflynn. All are welcome. This group is open to Parents, Grandparents, Guardians and Carers of babies and toddlers up to 4 years old. It’s a great way to meet other parents in your area. So come along for a warm welcome, chats and play. refreshments served.
Cost: 3 euro per child, or 5euro per family.
