OLD CEMETERY KILFLYNN

Prayer Evening: We will have a remembrance evening for all those buried in the Old Cemetery in Kilflynn village, on Wednesday 14th June at 8 p.m. Joining us will be Fr. Denis O’Mahony and Rev. Jim Stephens. This gathering will give everybody the opportunity, if they so wish, to contribute to the upkeep of the cemetery. There will be light refreshments afterwards in St. Columba’s Centre. In the event of unsuitable weather conditions, the ceremony will be held indoors.

KILFLYNN VINTAGE RALLY

Save the dates! Saturday 17th and 18th June! We are looking forward to having our tractor run on Saturday evening, followed by the vintage car / Honda 50 run on Sunday morning, and the main event, the Vintage Rally in Kilflynn village. We hope to see you all there for a bigger and better event this year.

On behalf of all the local Fairies, Wizards and Elves, the Kilflynn Enchanted fairy festival would like to hear from like-minded individuals who would like to volunteer a couple of hours of their time for this year’s festivities on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2023
If you are artistic or just want to get out and work on the ground, maybe new to the community or spent all your life here? We would love to hear from you. Men and Women in this beautiful village of Kilflynn and of all ages help us out every year with this amazing festival, whether its ticket sales, traffic management, Characters, Painting, groundwork, set up before and clean up after.
If you are interested or are joining us again this year, please send a text with your name and number and we will get our little fairies to contact you within the next few weeks to add to our list.

The next draw for the Kilflynn Community Together “Split the Bucket” will take place Saturday, 27th May in Parker’s Bar, Kilflynn @ 10:00pm.
Get your entries in (as many as you like) before Saturday night 27th May! It could be your lucky Night! We have buckets at various businesses around Kilflynn: –Parkers Pub, Herbert’s Bar and Zam Zam Kebab.
The concept of the draw is simple, simply place your €2 into the envelope at the venue, write your name and phone on the envelope and you could possibly ‘split the bucket!’

KERRY UNDER AGE HURLERS

On Saturday 21st May, the Kerry U14, U15 and U16 Development hurling squads were in action, the U14’s travelled to Carlow and played Carlow and Wicklow’s two teams, the U15’s played Tipperary in Tipperary and the U16’s played Kildare in the sportsfield Dromakee. Saturday results were Kerry U-14s; Kerry 5-21 (36) Wicklow Team 1, 1-01 (0-04) Kerry 3-12 (21) Wicklow Team 2, 0-04 Kerry 5-15 (30) Carlow 1-06 (09). Kerry U-15s Kerry 0-8 Tipperary 2-18 (24) Kerry U16s Kerry 2-22 (28) Kildare 4-10 (22)

CROTTA LOTTO RESULTS

The Crotta hurling club weekly lotto draw was held on Monday 22nd May at Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn.
The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 5,6,19 and 26. There was no winner of the 4,200 Jackpot. Congratulations to the following who won €35 in the lucky dip draw: Dermot Ryan, Valley View, Knocknaska, Kilflynn, Tommy Quille, Clounafineela, Kilflynn and Jamie Behan, Abbeydorney.
The next draw will take place in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn. on Monday 29th May at 10.30p.m with a €4,300 Jackpot.

CROTTA U-5s

The Crotta U5 hurling fun continued on Sunday afternoon last. A very enjoyable session again with happy kiddies enjoying the sunshine and socialising with their newfound buddies. Training continues each Sunday 1:15 – 2pm in Dromakee. Anybody who would like to be added to text service or wants more information please message Paul Shanahan on 0879715781. Hurleys and helmets are provided so just bring the kids along and give it a go.

The Crotta Senior hurlers had two victories in the County Senior hurling league div 1  in Ballyheigue on Tuesday 16th May Ballyheigue 2-11 to Crotta 2-19 and on  Friday, 19th  May at the sportsfield, droamkee.
